    The door is not broken at all, the first position will open just the upper side, the second the door. It's the same in all Europe. It is funny to see how all Americans are puzzled with that 😂

      @NooksBackpack Yes, you open only the upper part when, for example in winter, you want to "change the air" (an absolute Italian obsession) but outside is cold and is not a good idea to open the entire window 😉 Hope you liked Italy and that we will see you back soon. I'd give you you a tip hard to find on RUclips, for obvious reasons. In one of your next visits, don't go to the big ones, check Italy's small medieval towns of Tuscany, Marche Umbria and Lazio. Half the cost, few tourists, no traps, no pickpockets, very nice people. You will discover another planet and will thank me. Ciao 👋

    Great video! I'm gonna have to do this one day. Curious -- would this be the same approach if someone's final flight destination was DFW and they checked a bag? Or would there be a few key differences, like going to bag claim first and then somehow getting to terminal B after that if you're not already in B?

    • @NooksBackpack
      @NooksBackpack 2 месяца назад

      Yeah, you’ll have to stop by baggage claim first, then make your way over to Terminal B. There’s actually 2 ways to get over there, the Skylink is easy and the quickest, but there’s also a bus outside the airport that can run you over to terminal B This has become our standard way of flying, OKC is expensive (especially for a family of 5) and I prefer to fly direct so DFW is the best option. We went to Orlando last year, $290 total roundtrip out of DFW, $1400 out okc 😬

    • @dimanimatedtakes
      @dimanimatedtakes 2 месяца назад

      @@NooksBackpack That sounds like a great alternative. Will Rogers airport is so small though, I'm shocked getting a flight out of there and then connecting to Dallas for a longer flight elsewhere is a thing and makes it more expensive because you fly an extra leg. I know airport size has nothing to do with ticket prices, but still. Was it $290 per family member, or overall? Either way, still a lot cheaper!

    • @NooksBackpack
      @NooksBackpack Месяц назад

      $290 was for all 5 of us, crazy cheap deal. It was with Frontier so not exactly classy but it did the job. Other than a couple places, flying out of OKC means layovers and I really try to avoid them if possible, especially if we’re flying these cheapo airlines

    • @dimanimatedtakes
      @dimanimatedtakes Месяц назад

      @@NooksBackpack Nice. I definitely know what you mean about layovers. I'd love to take the Heartland Flyer one day, though it's a bit hard when you're OK-based but not OKC-based (or any of the stops on the HF through OK or TX). So I usually just fly and deal with the layovers, although taking a bus into Dallas could work for me too. Though that could have its own problems, because Greyhound is....well, Greyhound lol. If you know what I mean. Didn't know Frontier still served OKC either - I thought they left the state entirely - guess someone told me some wrong info!

      Trains are starting to make a comeback, Amtrak just got a bunch of government money to add a new routes, plus, several cities are adding new lines. Dallas is building onto that Texrail service to cover more of the city. It’s much cheaper (like well over $1000 cheaper) for the 5 of us to fly out of Dallas in most cases vs OKC. Also, it’s rare to find a direct flight out of OKC so training the DFW for a cheap direct flight is becoming our standard way to travel

    I am so happy to see more Heartland Flyer videos on RUclips!! Back like 1.5-2 years ago there was only one or two and now I see six or seven pop up when I search for it. Were they okay with you filming in the Cafe Car? I've heard some people on staff have had issues with that before. One of these days I'll take it. Just got to get to OKC first (it's a shame it doesn't service Oklahoma stops from other major cities. At least there are Southwest Chief plan expansions coming in a few years though!! While not quite a win for OK, a great win for KS!). Going to Fort Worth via Amtrak and connecting via Texrail to DFW sounds so much more fun than flying into it.

    • @NooksBackpack

      This was our first time on it but it was great. It's certainly showing its age but to get a cheap, direct flight out of Dallas it's perfect. Very nice tour, I’ve toured it twice. You should consider the other two color coded tours. The Drum was interesting, my first tour it was still in the water. The second tour they had it out of the water because they had discovered leaks. That tour was disappointing because they had everything they could stripped out of it. The torpedos were back in place for your tour showing how intimate the crew was with them in the aft torpedo room. One more note, one of the tours give you access to the inside of main Tourret. Powder magazine and the machinery that transports the ordinance up to the guns

      I did a ton of research trying to plan for this vacation in Rome and this pyramid never came up. It wasn’t until I was there and looking at Google maps I saw it and looked into it.

      @@NooksBackpack Really? I mean, it's not one of the prime attractions or anything, but it's still somewhat known.

    I love the way you folks just explore as you go. So mellow. Great father.

    Thanks for sharing. You guys took a nice walk! I am looking forward to seeing the tomb of Maxentius in the fall. Don’t bury me in a tomb. Folks just steal your stuff and toss your ashes or bones in the nearest bush. 😅

      I think I hit 20,000 steps that day, lots of walking! This was our final day in Rome so I wanted to make sure we didn’t miss anything 😆
