Its one thing to visit. I moved there, went to Kapaa high. It was hell. I made it my number one goal to escape. I did. It took a lot of money and courage. I got my family out as soon as I could. Living there is like being on a prison island. Horrible beyond compare. I would not go back for any reason.

Is this the secret nude beach I’ve heard of?
My husband and I were here several years ago. At the time we were both in our mid 50s and in pretty good shape. He made it all the way down, but I was afraid to go all the way down for fear of falling. This is a tough walk straight down a rocky very steep slope that I wasn’t prepared for. I did however go far enough to see the beach. This place is gorgeous and somewhat magical. Just be prepared for a tough walk that you can’t really recognize from this video. The first part is flat and easy enough, but it changes. We stayed in a gorgeous Airbnb close to this beach. The other beaches in Kauai were also beautiful but this was special.
This trail is right up the street from where I live on Kauai, aloha

Great job on this video! I just made a couple videos on this beach, this is totally my favorite beach ever! Great job!
Been here 4 times but the food at the stores is crazy in price. We spent $280 for food that would of cost us $110 on the mainland. It's cheaper to eat out just a word of advice if you come here at want to cook at a condo.

I went to high school in Kauai there and used to surf that break. There was a kid in my history class named Kaipo Who was on probation for waiting in that parking lot then punching tourists in the face. So he could steal their car joyride and then wreck it into a wall. It was 1989. Good times

Roaming Paradise, you may want to issue a 'Spoiler Alert', letting the 'faint of heart' know that they might encounter nude bodies. So many people go there and then complain about the nude people they saw.

How long was the hike and was it slippery?
I didn’t continue until the end, so the hike I did took me the length of this video x2 (out & back). If you do the whole trail it might add another hour or so. And the trail was quite muddy but thankfully I have good trail runners so I didn’t slip much.

How do you get your sound to be so crisp? Doesn't youtube compress the original audio?
I’m using a binaural audio headset and recording in lossless stereo. I think when I export the video in Final Cut the audio compresses to AAC. Then whatever compression RUclips does the quality still seems to remain good.

Can you swim this beach? I see the kids jumping in but they are staying in the same place and getting right out/ What do you think?
I’m not super familiar with this beach as I’ve only been there a handful of times. My guess would be that it’s pretty safe, and there are probably sections with more reef so always good to be careful. Not going too far in is always a safe bet.

I remember when there was the one home on the left side of the bay before the new houses were bulit where we used to park, Clothing optional!

Dukes has always been one of our favorite restaurants. Eat outside or inside with koi and waterfalls around your table. Go upstairs for fine dining and a lovely view of the harbor/bay. We once watched a cruise ship pull out of the harbor. Just beautiful! Miss the island.

You can, but there are a ton of people visiting now so there are major rental car shortages. Best to wait until the end of the summer.

I keep noticing from these videos that there aren’t actually chicken in the background, are they not literally in every square inch of kauai? and what places can they be avoided? Cool video btw
Hi Horoshima, thanks for watching! The chickens roam around and can be found all over, but they will usually skirt off a path when they see humans approaching. There are plenty of chickens, but definitely not in every square inch! More like every square mile. :)
