    There were clearly other people there. He was not alone. Someone was flying a drone to get footage of the plane below his altitude. No way the plane would be below him if he was free falling for 23 seconds

    I don't believe this guy planned the crash. There are a lot of clout chasing "detectives" slandering him, but until there is an investigation by authorities, charges, a trial and a guilty verdict I am going with the American view point that he is innocent until proven guilty.

  • @grahamthebaronhesketh.

    Here are the results of my investigation. He clearly had a panic attack when the engine packed up and simply jumped for his life. Cannot be convicted for being scared. Like a good responsible citizen he took it upon himself at great expense to clean up his own mess and remains mortified to this day that the planned restoration project on this little classic aircraft could not take place by his engineer friends up in mammoth who he posted the Tech logs too before the crash. I know some of you suspect that this was a STUNT for youtube hits 1,504,413 views to date. Having reviewed the evidence I can conclude it is unlikely to end in a prosecution unless he confesses to it, and he really would be an idiot to confess to that. At worst he will be told off for disposing of the wreck and losing the tech logs.

    I've seen other vids where he seemed to be looking for a certain spot before the engine failure. I've hiked and camped this area before and Manzana schoolhouse is right there. It's where people often camp and even have helicopters fly in their supplies from Santa Maria! COINCIDENCE? It's no more than four miles from the crash site to a campground with a ranger nearby!

    • @jimbobeire
      @jimbobeire 2 года назад

      Exactly what I was thinking. His buddies are down there somewhere at a pre arranged spot to 'rescue' him, so he wants to make sure he jumps over the right spot, while still trying to remember his acting lines for his dramatic 'engine failure'.

      Way too smooth to be from his parachute descent, and no sign of any limbs or gear. Very hard to explain that footage if it wasn't preplanned. Also conveniently cuts off just before impact.

    I think many of Trever Jacobs 1M+ views, are people going through it and providing superb analysis like this. Many years ago (when the sun used to rise in the west sort of thing), I did survival courses for my "job". One of the ones that caused me some interest was about a B52, shot down accidentally over the continental US. Despite every resource, actuate locations, and a good stab at where the men went down, it took months to find the last man. He was found when people went to the cabin that he dragged himself to, in summer. Fortunately despite a badly broken leg he'd managed to keep alive. It was many years later when I went to Canada, could I fully understand just how big North America is. I appreciate you'll all say "haven't you looked at a map" - we didn't have the mapping we have now, it just looked large. I think nothing brings home how vast and empty it is, in British eyes (from our densely packed Island) , till you stand in the middle of "nowhere", and realise that the nearest person is over many miles away and if you walk North, there's nothing between you and the North pole. Where I'm going with this, is as I see it, the absolute stupidity, of jumping out of a plane, not raising a may-day etc to at least alert someone, and then trusting you don't break a leg, knock yourself out, on reaching the ground. Going into that brush could have resulted in impalement, and that would have been a horrific death. He then trusts he won't break a leg then traversing the landscape (as he's dehydrated - he wont' be moving with his best mental capability applied to it). And he's ill prepared, for what could have been, an engineered situation. He's rather like on of these "survival Experts" that engage in risky behaviours, if your in a true survival exercise, your job is to be as risk averse as you can be. A self inflicted broken arm could be then end of you. Finally, if he was reported missing, it would then put a other people at risk trying to find him, possibly flying in mountainous terrain with all that entails (terrain, vortexes etc etc). There are so many things in his video that show his motivation was not safety, and that is a danger to us all, as stupid people can emulate these things globally (sadly).

    • @devoidbmx1
      @devoidbmx1 2 года назад

      I think that pretty much summarizes why this whole thing makes people angry -he risked other people's lives, risked starting a forest fire in a fire-prone area, violated basic aircraft saftety rules that everyone else takes great pains to dutifully follow, and destroyed a plane just in pursuit of some youtube views, a bit of sponsorship money, and attention.

    • @devoidbmx1
      @devoidbmx1 2 года назад

      And you are right about the vastness of the continent, a single aircraft or person is quickly lost - the same goes for oceanic rescues, it is harder than it might seem. This sort of analysis would have been impossible without the many angles of high definition video captured.

    What did Trevor use to find his direction out? Did he have maps? No GPS from a cell! If he had maps on his person wouldn't it be more normal for them to be in the plane and not in his pocket?

    • @devoidbmx1
      @devoidbmx1 2 года назад

      First thing - many GPS apps work without cell service (they pick up satellite GPS) and can be operated even if the cell phone is in "airplane mode" or 0 bars of service. Secondly, I dont think it would have been hard to find your way out of there if you had at least minimal spatial awareness and had flown over the area - 9/10 people would descend to the river valley and walk towards the direction of civilization. But it is likely that this was pre-planned and he already knew where to go to get help. I'm sure he studied the maps closely beforehand, and possibly had a phone with offline maps or a GPS.

Let's hope he gets a hefty fine for littering in a National Forest. He also did not transfer the registration into his name.

    I've hiked the Manzana trail from sunset valley road to schoolhouse about 10 times. 8.8 miles from the sisquoc River bed. (currently the road to the trailhead is closed which limits the amount of people in the backcountry there...coincidence?) The watering hole he found looks like the first jeep road crossing that one encounters on their way back to the trailhead from schoolhouse. My bet is that he took that way out, could have stowed a bike there or walked an extra 6 miles (for total of about 15 miles) to the parking lot at the bottom of Figueroa Mountain. Easy hike.
