Schools and colleges offer flight attendant/in-flight services courses. Should you take these? Will it help you get hired by an airline? Do airlines care? *Editor's post-production note: a few small airlines in Canada (such as PAL) do require applicants to take external FA courses. Hi I am currently doing diploma in Canada and then I M thinking about doing a flight attendant training I have the same question as everyone do I need to be a permanent resident to get hired or not??
See 6:16 of the video or our website www.frenchforflightattendants.com/how-to-get-hired
Are you Quebec?
Our contributors are across the country, many of whom are in Québec
Check our our new list of Canadian airlines, their basic hiring requirements, which ones only accept citizens and which ones accept non-citizens , and links to apply: www.frenchforflightattendants.com/how-to-get-hired
Thanks a lot, I’m currently in high school taking French and I will continue taking it until grade 12. I have already spoken French at home often and in middle school I took full emmersion, would that be enough French knowledge to pass this particular part of applying to become a flight attendant?
Hi, it sounds like you have a solid basis in French. They're usually just testing to see if you can carry a basic, casual conversation in French. See our video on this here: ruclips.net/video/PZBnFQN2xcU/видео.html
I'd just completed my 12 classes . I'm from nepal . Does the grade GPA matters to apply for cabin crew ?
No. GPA shouldn’t matter. As long as you have a high school diploma or equivalent. Double check with the airline you’re applying to.
Hii my name is nisha,, currently working in Indian airlines.. n planning to move to Canada. Could u pls make a video that Indian can join Canadian airlines or not??? Wht is the criteria .?
Hi. The process is covered in our video here ruclips.net/video/Uknz_Z1KJHg/видео.html&feature=share
Keep it up 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Please keep your videos up. Thx 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Merci. C'est clair 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi do i have to be a permanent resident first before I can apply?
Depends on the airline
@@frenchforflightattendants thanks for the reply. Can you give me an airline in canada that accepts non permanent resident please im from philippines
I hope you solve my problem ane give me and soon...I'm waiting.
Hiiii..... I'm from to india...So can I apply for flight attendant in Canada.... I'm so confused cause I watched so many videos but they said indian people can not apply ane .... Canadian airline not hire so it is true or not ???? Please give me a reply..... Cause I want be a flight attendant in any Canadian airline
Depends on the airline. Some will only hire Canadian citizens, others will hire permanent residents. You’ll need to check each airline’s flight attendant job posting to see what each airline’s hiring requirements are.
6:01 it’s important to look up each job posting and read it carefully to see what they require
My goal is to become a bilingual flight attendant next year and I just want to say merci Because these videos are amazing!
You can do it! All the best :)
This helps SO much, merci beaucoup ;)
Thank you so much! I’m a flight attendant for Vietnam Airlines. Your channel is useful. 💯
What if your french is limited?
You can be honest with your level in French (or other languages) when talking to the interviewers. Depending on their needs, generally, any French is still better than none. They may hire you on the condition that you make efforts to improve your language level.
@@frenchforflightattendants I am a 50 year old woman though is that a limit?
@@veronicaprovencal9811 Airlines (in Canada) shouldn't have age limits. I know many who were hired above 50.
@@frenchforflightattendants thank you for your time😀
@@veronicaprovencal9811good morning ma'am ☺️
Is it necessary to speak french? What if one masters only English language?
Depends on the airline, but not completely necessary. But most Canadian airlines will favour French-speaking candidates and will likely hire them over someone who only speaks English.
If i am european in middle east and want to apply to air canada… will they accept me and wait for my work permit from canada embassy in middle east ? Then move to canada … and start with them ?
I believe Air Canada only hires Canadian citizens with a Canadian passport. You can check on Air Canada's flight attendant job posting.
@@frenchforflightattendants sadly yes. If europeans wants to move to canada and obtain work permits they have to apply with other companies... and work something they dont like... Air canada must open up in this regards... at least to european union.
@@hamudilae467 They have such requirements in place for a reason. I'm not the expert in this aspect, but I suspect that when all their flight attendants and pilots have Canadian passports, it makes it logistically far simpler to deal with all the different passport and visa requirements for the different countries they send their air crew to.
@@frenchforflightattendantsAirlines in Gulf and British Airways hire all nationals worldwide... Cabin crew they have special visa to perform duties other than normal visa for tourist or immigration etc... they can do it.. but... the management needs to allow it
@@hamudilae467 Ah ok. Then I'm not sure. Perhaps there are labour laws or other factors at play.
If you become a flight attendant in Canada you eventually will not be a flight attendant in Canada
I'm glad to see my surname on the list. C'est bon!!!!!
I don’t have Canadian passport but Brazilian and Italian is it a problem for my application or my Work Permit visa is okay?
Depends on the airline. Most (especially those that fly overseas) require a Canadian passport. Others don't. Check each airline's job posting to see.
I applied to become Air Canada flight attendant if I’m not selected it’ll let me know?
Depends on how far you got. Did you get an interview? If so, they should tell you if you didn't make it past the interview. If you only sent in an application, then they'll likely only contact those whom they choose to interview. Check directly with each airline to confirm their hiring procedures.
What are the bases for Air Canada flight attendant in Canada?
YVR Vancouver, YYC Calgary, YYZ Toronto, YUL Montréal
What if I’m already a FA and I am studying for the language qualification? I’m at a B1 level but need more focus on airline vocab for standard French. What would be your recommendation?
We publish some videos on our channel here that teach airline/flight attendant specific French. But our comprehensive flight attendant French course is on our site www.frenchforflightattendants.com . Module 1 is introductory French. Module 2 teaches French for airline French tests. Modules 3-5 teach flight attendant on-the-job French for all kinds of flight attendant situations. Module 6 teaches French for those who are already flight attendants but who want to pass their airline's French test to become French-qualified, which sounds like your situation, if I'm not mistaken.
I grew up in Canada but I was born in Romania… i am currently 14 years old and I am planning to go back to Canada since I moved back to Romani a last year before Covid my dad applied for a citizenship for him and I but it got cancelled and we needed to go to Canada. Do I need to have a citizenship to be a flight attendant? English is my first language but I’m starting to forget it since I’m now learning Romanian. I’m from Vancouver btw ! Any tips?
For airlines in Canada, it depends on the airline. Some will only hire Canadian citizens with a Canadian passport (Air Canada, for example). Others will hire permanent residents as well (Jazz Aviation, for example). You'll need to check with each airline and read each one's flight attendant job posting to see.
@@frenchforflightattendantsgood morning Sir please am a Cameroonian and which to be a flight attendant in Canada.. i want to know those airlines that doesn't ask for Canadian citizen i speak both English and French thanks
@@KimChloé-k9t Yes, there are a few. You can see which ones hire non-citizens too on our list of airlines here: www.frenchforflightattendants.com/how-to-get-hired
@@frenchforflightattendants thanks for your kind attention ☺️

It's definitely a unique but exciting job. Feel free to ask us any questions en français ou en anglais :)
There is no way this is an actually a channel I’ve always wanted to learn French and I’ve always wanted to become a flight attendant I am definitely subscribing
Can indian apply for flight attendant job in Canada?
Depends on the airline. You likely need a Canadian passport or permanent residence card. Check on each airline's job posting.
@@frenchforflightattendants what we need PR for canada ? if we have to appy for flight attendant , without PR WE cant be a air hostess?
@@amritpalkaur2141 See above. Depends. Check each airline's job posting.
I am from India can I study airhostess diploma in Canada school ?
Probably. You'll have to check with the schools themselves. Canadian airlines (by and large) don't care if you've done flight attendant schooling and won't give you any preference. Among other qualifications, they do care if you speak French or not.
Merci, très utile!
