    What I love about the early Boxsters is the availability of non standard colours. The modern 718 has a limited selection unless you pay a fortune for paint to sample. I'm looking for an Ocean Jade Metallic car. Not common, but out there. I have a 2004 Carmona red metallic base with a 5 speed manual, and a 2009 S Guards red with PDK. Knowing what I know now, I could care less if the car was an S or base. The added power really isn't necessary as the base is perfectly balanced. Enjoyed the video.

      Thanks very much truly, so true with newer cars and being charged a hefty sum for a better color, a shame :/ That 2009 S sounds awesome, do wish the 99 was a manual but still enjoyable to cruise in.

    Great cars, I really loved mine. It was sold not too long ago, 1989 with 26,000 miles on it. Due to a decline in my physical well being I no longer could take care of it in the manner in which it deserved to be kept. The high price of somebody else maintaining it was out of the question as well as finding a person wanting to work on "old technology". Plus, I'm not comfortable with others wrenching on my Corvette. No regrets though, I had 21 great years with that car.

I hope your health improves too by the way, I am sorry. Had some sciatic nerve pain go to my left hip 3 months back, wasn't able to do anything, hope the best for you, will say a prayer as well.🙏🇺🇲🏎

    Do you know what brand/model the windshield wiper blades should be? I bought wipers off of Rock Auto for my 1995 C4 and they are way too tall i.e. they hit the hood and chipped the paint. I'm not happy with Rock Auto there. They clearly need to be at least 3/8" shorter to clear the hood without damaging the paint.

      As far as OEM I'm not sure sorry, but Rain-X makes some awesome ones, get the highest price ones, Rain X silicone, they are fantastic, and last forever, think they're about $60 for a set but so worth it. Advance Auto Parts carry them, or Ebay. OEM size calls for 19 inch both sides but if necessary get an inch shorter each, should be ok with 19's, have seen some sites say 20, that's probably the problem, too long I think.

      Hahaha, I like your way of putting things. But after about 1k miles it feels much better, and smoother riding. Really appreciate it by the way, thank you as well my friend, glad you liked the video and great comment, really enjoy talking with other enthusiasts🤝

    Hi. I just bought my first C4. It's a '96, and I love it. I just needed some information on fixing my driver's side door panel. It's popped loose because of the broken clips, so I have to lean on it to clip it back. I also need a left rear speaker/ amp assembly, and finally, I'm waiting for a new 52 mm throttle body. Hope to hear back. Thanks. BTW....Mine is the same color. Competition Yellow. And I need a new glass roof. It cracked in the middle. I lived in Columbus, OH to.😊

    • @Feral80sKid
      @Feral80sKid 8 дней назад

      Right on my friend, and congrats! You're already starting off better than I did, I had a basketcase 1984 LOL. So the door panel if the new clips are able to be secured well I'd just re use that if it's in nice shape, did just see a nice see through targa on a C4 Facebook forum for $500 shipped, they varied a bit but might fit your 96 (great year C4 btw) If not try Ebay, sometimes great deals pop up on all kinds of C4 parts. Also get on C4 forums on Facebook, tons of good parts there, just do Paypal only, no friends and family so you're safe from scams. A fellow Ohioan huh, it has it's ups and downs, thankfully I don't drive like a lot of them xD As far as the speakers/amps go it can get expensive to replace em all etc., I've only had to replace the control unit but if you're not too concerned about keeping it all original I'd wire the speakers to an aftermarket head unit, if not have a stereo shop with experience do it:) Throttle body will give you a few hp and better response, I love LT1's too, had a 94 Z28 6 speed that was a lot of fun.

    • @user-qu3tr4oh2x
      @user-qu3tr4oh2x 8 дней назад

      @Feral80sKid Thank you. I'm thinking of a relens, but I would be without a targa roof for about 10 days due to shipping back and forth to Melrose T Tops in Illinois. I'm taking the left speaker out, and maybe I can hope for a loose wire 🙂 I need to look into the door panel again. I hear it clip each time I push it back. I'd like to see a video on repairing door panels on a '96 C4. I'm looking for more videos on C4's from you. Thank you.

    • @Feral80sKid
      @Feral80sKid 8 дней назад

      You're welcome:) Hopefully it's just a loose wire🤞 maybe worst case just that amp. I don't usually do more than one video for a car but C4's are special to me too, I'll see what I can come up with. A clip or 2 may be worn down, hopefully that's all it is.

    Beautiful C4. Never had an L98, but I drove some of my friends in local Corvette clubs, very strong from the bottom. I had all LT1s 92-96 in every color except yellow... ALWAYS loved the look of the yellows just never worked out, lol. My friends gave me a lot of grief because I traded them a lot. My favorite was a 95 Admiral Blue, it was faster than all of the rest, these cars vary pretty wildly in actual horsepower on the dyno, the Admiral was 319 bone stock. I had 2 black and a 96 LT4 silver collector was my last one with a bone stock horsepower of 344. Gm didnt want to spoil the release of the next gen 97 C5, they knew about the fluctuating HP especially in the LT4s and didn't want to spoil the C5 debut, but it got out pretty quickly when some LT4s were outrunning C5s on occasion in the stoplight grand prix on the street. C4s are my favorite value in a sports car, cant beat em there. Enjoyed the video.

And thank you so much for your kindness, glad you liked the video:) I STILL haven't driven an LT1 Corvette but had a 94 Z28 with a 6 speed, love the torque curve, they pull hard to about 6k, you may have just talked me into getting an lt1 C4 hahaha, thanks again for the awesome comment, this is one of my favorites 🤝

    Another super video. The C7 with the manual is a bucket list car for me. Either owning or at least a drive. I'd love to get onto the nearest motorway (highway) and set cruise control in 7th and eat up the miles in style. I noticed on the long straight section of road you were at around 53mph in 5th. Does the engine have enough torque to maintain that speed in 7th ? Was pretty shocked to see a roundabout - thought it was just the Brits had those to confuse visiting drivers 😆

    • @Feral80sKid
      @Feral80sKid 16 дней назад

      Hahaha, yeah we hate the roundabouts too, unless we're in a sports car with no traffic LOL. I'd say 7th kind of lugs unless you are 75mph+, you'd definitely fall in love with a C7, probably the best bargain for all it does performance-wise, quality is much better than previous gens too, nice leathers, panels etc.

Reliable with routine maintenance, biggest job was intake manifold gaskets due to oil leak. easy DIY car, all stock except I added dual exhaust with H-pipe into Corsas. not sure if mentioned.. but 90 is unique year with new interior and old body, this is missed even by C4 owners 90 is first year with a coolant reserve tank 90 first year air bag on driver side only, nice that your airbag is working as dash light goes off 5 seconds after starting engine, haha I was watching for that 90 wheels are 1 year only and the nicest C4 wheels except for 96 GS style 5 spoke 'A-molds' which I swapped in

      Nice, I bet it sounds sweet. The 6 speed is a great ZF transmission, and that is also a great looking color, that has to be a rare combo as well. With you 100% on the only year with older exterior, newer interior, I just love that about the 90, love the wheels as well:) Definitely easier to work on then I first thought years ago, was kind of intimidating at first lol, and thank you very much by the way🤝

    I've been on the fence about which gen corvette I wanted. Was suck between either a c3, c4, or a c5 because a c6 is still too expensive and this kind of nudged me into the c4 market a little harder due to the face that I didn't know that the c4 DIDN'T come with the LT1 with that god awful optispark before 91

      I hear you, I do LOVE the lt1 and all but I just love the look of the tpi, really cool looking, and for sure a lot of things are easier to fix. I love all Vettes too but like you the C4 is just right for my budget, interest rates are ridiculous right now so I won't do a loan. There are really good deals sometimes on them too:)

      I had an 89 Corvette, Z51 M6, good year. Wheels were very similar except 89's had centercaps, held on by a screw. Can't go wrong with the A-molds though. I wonder if some late 89's came with the later 1990 wheels?
