I’m confused about the spoon???
@@mstayinghome sometimes when the bucket is turning the compost can get struck so the spoon is my tool for that so I don’t have to put my hand in poo
It’s amazing how many people with vehicles bigger then 1500’s shit can them and say they are just like the rest of the smaller twin cabs. My triton has a greater payload than my Ram 1500 but in no way shape or form does it tow my 2.5T boat or float as well as the 1500. Instead of trying to put people/ cars down, they should really keep the conversation around getting the vehicle that suits your needs. The 1500 might be the common smaller ute in the US but doesn’t mean it’s the same as the common smaller Ute in OZ even if the payload is the same or smaller.
Hey mate - I’ve retrofitted to our trooper following your video (which was great by the way). How to know when the solids part is ready to empty ?
@@RichardNicholls-i6i awesome happy it helped!! Either it will get to full and start coming out when it turns or two wet and will smell

@@richardschotte9892 yeah one is 1000watt and the other is 1400watt. Have had them both running at the same. I have had coffee machine, 1x induction, and waffle maker running all at the same time.

@@Annabelleoliverio no sorry 3inch lift and 35’s
Why do you think one key is good they get the key and open everything how good is that is your life that busy you can't put paint on different keys its not rocket science 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@sherylryan7038 because most keys from hatch’s etc are the same for example when I was at the dealership my original keys would open 6 out of the 8 brand new vans there. So that’s cool people don’t need to get your keys because they already have them. 1 key has 2000 different key barrels so the likelihood of someone having my keys is 1 in 2000 and the likelihood of someone having urs is 1 in 20. So I’m happy to pay for extra security of my belongings.
I like your idea of the tire inflation. It reminds me of the German STIS system on the bigger overlanders. I keep wondering if it would be better to run all of the compressors into at least one large air tank (transport truck size) and then plumb a separate regulator for front tires, and another for rear tires, again with four clip on lines? You could have the tank full and ready to go (at max tank pressure, well above expected tire pressure) before you stopped to air up.
@@rodmcisaac3 hey mate yeah I was going to run in to a large tank I just find 12volt compressors struggle when filling tanks as well as large tyres to high PSI. Tank being full to start with would be good however once that air is used the compressors will struggle more trying to fill the tank and the tyres just. If you had a a larger compressor or belt driven compressor that would work very well.
@@roamin_in_a_ram Thanks for the clarification.
@@rodmcisaac3 Allgood mate. But yeah if you had larger compressors 24volt or belt driven I would definitely do it the way you described.

@@TheTripleDubya thanks mate 🤙 Shocker hitch is mint 👌 definitely best on the market! Yeah canopy makes it a lot more practical. What to do ? Go see Mitch at Concept Canopies hahaha 🤣
@@roamin_in_a_ram why do you rate shocker hitch better than say the geny? geny seems to take movement up and down, whereas the shocker seems to mainly work on the down force. how does the bag fair against rockls etc as doesnt seem protected. im looking atm as to what to get
@@glennbuckland6816 well I had 2 of them brake over 16months of travelling. They only had up woods movement and ended up with side ways movement aswell. (Second one I got under warranty) The shocker has up and down movement it’s all in the air pressure which I love you can adjust very easily for more movement or less or if you change trailers. I know lots of ppl that have been running shockers for yrs no issues. Yeah haven’t heard of any bag issues however yes I thought that and am going to add a piece of rubber to protect just like a mud flap
Absolutely love this rig. How’s the ride of a 3500 compared to the 2500
@@robertgrayson3394 thanks mate!! Yeah I reckon the 3500 ride is a lot nicer the 2500 in our application with heavy weights
@@roamin_in_a_ram Thanks. How do these bigger rigs go off-road in terms of width and wheel articulation and ramp over hang ups? Probably biggest thing holding me back at moment is width as I do a lot of tight tracks and am worried I will trash it. I use Rhino Hides on my 200 series which works well. I assume a good quality PPF would help and maybe some magnetic film protection? Ramp over also concerns me slightly but I assume 35” tyres and 3” left addresses that largely? Lastly, is the rear wheel travel on the 3500 limiting and does it get hung up on the spring packs like a 70 series Toyota.
@@robertgrayson3394 personally I have never had a problem. Heaps of 2500’s and 3500’s have done the OTT for example. It all comes down to the driver. Yeah I have PPF all over mine. Depends on what you want to do I reckon touring (large weights, canopy, boat etc) 3” 35’s and if you want to do more hectic wheeling I would say 4” 37’s

Thank you 😋
I’m enjoying this series. I tow with an Isuzu NPS and American trucks are a bit os a mystery to me, I had always assumed that the right hand drive conversion was done in a standard way. You said you would cover modification in more detail in episode 4 but I just wanted to mention something that seems to confuse many people. A light vehicle is anything with a registered GVM under 4.5T, a truck is anything with a registered GVM over 4.5T. These vehicles are governed by different rules regarding modifications. Light vehicle engineers are state based - approved by the local state rego authority. Trucks, in all states other than WA and NT, are administered by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR). A modification that may be legal on a truck might not be approved for a car and vice versa, also some mods on a truck like say a towbar install, need an engineers report and a mod plate when on a light vehicle they do not. You can use any NHVR accredited engineer to inspect and approve your modification, this engineer can be in say Qld, while your truck is registered in NSW. This is important because it means you can use an engineer who is familiar with your truck and the modification you want to make. This can mean way less hassles. A local engineer may tell you something is impossible while another may have already approved this for someone else and be able to approve it no problem.
Really nice van...congrats.

Questions for the Ram Average fuel usage you get and it can be combined, towing and exploring without the van? Average AdBlue usage? Have you had any DPF and SCR concerns? Have you had any gearbox concerns? What is the milage on the Ram now? Glad to see the Cape trip was a self inflicted wound, the damage in your video is a bit unclear for me, fan blades, radiator, serpentine belt is what was clear, it seemed you had renewed the visco fan unit and a tensioner? Wading in deep water is a skill without a radiator muff todays 4x4 ‘s have no thought put into that to assist the driver/owner. Sorry will keep it short 😂😂😂 I have so much more to ask. Cheers Johnny&Rene
@@johnnyclark4548 Hey guys! Average is going up in the next episodes however towing 18-23LPH and not towing 15-17LPH of course they all depend on weight and terrain however we will go more in depth in an episode. DPF yeah I don’t like them haha Transmission is the weakest part of the drive train however I have had upgrades from G&L Performance: deeper pan, hydro bypass, billet valving, tuned, changed friction pads on the over drive. Yeah it was self inflicted however I have done so many water crossings before with out a drama even that day it was my 3rd. Well, well, well (3wells) . So , my understanding is that you both ended up buying 3500 class trucks and then still had to do GVM upgrades , airbags etc. !!! Why did you both buy a truck that couldn’t do the job , you needed it to do ? Why didn’t you both buy , let’s say a 4500 class or even a 5500 class ? (What about an F650 or F750, no that’s silly, what was I thinking?) I , like everyone else out there , will continue doing my own research (Hey, thanks for that hot tip!) and purchase the vehicle that best meets my needs and wallet while still maintaining the upmost safety . Hence I have chosen a 1500 class (utility sedan/shopping trolley) with a max. towing capacity of 4500kg , I intend to tow 3500kg . If , after adding accessories front to rear , water , fuel , solar , boat , outboard , people , food and dog 🐶 , I will most likely , just like you , get a 🥁🪄🎺GVM🎉🍾☄️ upgrade to best suit my needs and safety requirements . Hey , guess what ? If I only wanted to tow 2750kg/3000kg , I would buy a Ranger etc. !!! Arrr yooze pickin’ up wot I’m puttin’ down . By the way , I’ll be getting a 5.0 F150 , I’ll look FORD to meeting up with you both on a Quarter mile of beach next year . I’ll be blowin’ ya doors off for all of the little 1500 utes and all those smaller , EAT MY SAND , pfffft . After I beat you both on the sand , we might have a pissin’ competition , it’s obvious you’ve been practicing together, Hafukityha 😂😂😂
