I don’t remember what I did there. It was a while ago. I think I’d left the normal putters in the basket at home and was putting with Bergs … I think I’ve only ever birdied 13 about three times ever.

I would not call myself experienced with this series. Perhaps four games of 1914 and the WWII game. This feels more fluid with the movement, it’s only two player, there is no “prepare” mechanic (if I am remembering that correctly), but the hand sizes are reduced. But the Contingency cards are a nice touch. I very much like the look of this one.

Hi, Michael, I hope you're well :) I have not played any of them yet, but I picked 1914 for my family. My research shows that WW2 version 2 is "fixed" compared with WW2 version 1. And the "ideal" player counts for this series of games is supposedly WW2 is 6; 1914 is 5; Victory or Death is 4; Cold War is 3; and this game, East Front is 2. So if you have a player count in mind, you can pick a game that matches.

Hey Marlon, wow that's a lot of changes. It felt like the course was literally evolving as I played, and it did feel like a moment in time. Monty was moving the hole 11 basket as I was playing up hole 9. Can't wait to see the final product. The hole 10 changes sound intriguing.

Hi Aces (designer here). Doug is playing with the most basic of basic rules. Combat includes a number of twists, including a variety of abilities and characteristics (none of which featured here): ranged, flying, stealth, regenerate, feral and huge. And that doesn't include the advanced game (Magic, Heroes, Monsters). If you're interested, check out some of the "in play" videos on RUclips to get a feel for the range of possibilities! -Chris

Thanks for watching. There is an errata sheet in the box that I checked later in the day, and it does mention the setup card should read "place 10 gold on the playmat" for the Fjordland, instead of "place 1 gold". So it appears the Campaign Book is correct and they do indeed start richer than I played them. I'm glad I leaned in. At the price point to get it to Australia, it's very much a luxury item, but I'm not regretting it.

I balked at the $100 price tag. But the game is selling out fast everywhere, and it's clear the game components, artwork and game design is really something you don't see everyday. After watching a number of youtube videos on the game, I realized my resistance was futile, pressed a button and made the buy. Glad I did.

Nothing jumped out at me as far as "goofs" go, just missed opportunities. That comes with more plays. For example: at 27:28 you built an Oathtakers army in Shaded Vale, where it can't quite reach the Freeholders in Zarinbar. A better move might have been to have marched on Zarinbar with the Iron Legion in Fort Gorod, then built a Dragon Slayer (also in Fort Gorod), which has 3 movement points, allowing a second attack on Zarinbar if needed. That's all part of the fun, though. Learning how to use your resources most effectively. Of course the dice can go against you, no matter what you do, but the more bites you can take at the apple, the greater the chance that the odds will fall in your favor eventually! -Chris

Probably the light. It’s just shot on an iPhone and I use an Apple Watch to start/stop recording. I have tamed the camera app to stop it changing resolution on me when it wants to 😄

S line DD for hole 11 hyzer flip to turn, first time I played Ruffey a few months ago I parked it for birdie but haven’t come close since. Think I’ve lost my nerve now I know how easy it is to lose your disc in the snake pit.

Good question! I didn’t even look at that option. I can’t picture how deep down the hole those trees reach along the OB path.

IIRC there is mando on 17 which prevents the RHBH hyzer

I didn’t see it on UDisc or the tee sign, but they may have tweaked it. I think the RHBH line is a “courageous decision” but need to look at it again. Get it wrong and you’re throwing three off the tee, I think.

You can try it. I've got a disc stuck way high up into the trees.😅 It's a lot of risk because your disc is always over OB. Plus, if you make it in bounds, the hyzer gets you to circle 2 at best.
