Hey, I’m Wojciech, welcome to my channel! For a few years I was a civil engineer by day and hobby woodworker by night. In June 2022 I changed that dramatically - woodworking became my main source of income.
RUclips is an outlet for my other passion - filmmaking and editing. I try to share my process with an attention to detail and interesting shots. Uploads here are not very frequent, as this takes a lot of time, so if you want to see what I’m currently working on, check out my

This video is a timetravel back to the first thing I made in my workshop. And the first build I recorded, that I finally got around to editing. As per request here’s a written down list of tools I used: 1. Ryoba saw (240 mm) 2. Kugihiki flush trimming saw 150 mm (optional) 3. Stanley No. 5 Jack Plane 4. Stanley block plane 12-020 (optional) 5. Stanley square 300 mm 6. Narex Premium 20 mm chisel...

Pro tip drill the knot out and then fill it with a dowel.
why bother though :)
Hi great bench ? Didn’t understand if you used clamps for glue or if there is no glue, could you please tell me ?
Yeah, of course there is glue :) otherwise it wouldn’t hold at all :)
Fajnie wyszło, scena z domino wygrywa ;)
Jak się nie ma co się lubi, to się lubi co się ma 😉
Is this joint strong enough without lower support?
Yes, for a coffee table it is. As a bench it would need to be reinforced due to lateral forces being applied regularly. But in this application - well enough, going strong since 2019 ;)
@@BlankPlank I made a waterfall table just like it and wanted to make sure. Could I send some pictures to you and see what you think?
@tommyzegers sure, hit me up on instagram @wp.blankplank
How awesome. Such a great work 👍👍
Glad you liked it :)
Świetna robota Wojtek :)
Dzięki Mery ;)
That looks great, and what a fantastic video you made as well!
Thank you, it means so much that people appreciate the effort I put into editing ☺️
Beautiful frame and great video editing skills. Greetings from America!
Thanks! ☺️
this is so great!
glad you enjoyed it ;)
That's a real beauty of a W/bench my bro. Well built and with hand tools..What NO. plane ws the u used to flatten the top and bottom of the bench top?? Is that a NO.5 Jack?? Is that called a Scrub plane too?? I'm new to hand planes. I bought a low angle block, a NO.3 & No.4 planes. I think the 3 & 4 planes are too similar. Is that correct? What is the difference between a smoothing or finishing plane?? I've only really begun to learn about Hand planes over the past month and I love working with them. I get real enjoyment from getting a flat level face and clean edge on boards with the planes. There's a real satisfaction to working this way imho. I lok forward to sharpening the Irons now too. I use the marker to blacken the edge and I can see which direction I moving the iron on the diamond stones. My planes are cheap ones. I think all 3 cost m,e less than 80 EUROS TOGETHER. For me I've been learning more by learning how to get the flat sole, how to check the Frog, etc and it's a nice feeling to be ale to get a cheaper plane to work perfectly.. Thanks for this top video bro. I enjoyed watching the process. I built my 1st bench using MDF 18mm x 2 sheets for the top, laminated but there's way too much bounce. The weight isn't good with my bench either. It moves too easily. I really want to build one like ur one here. My chiseling work has to improve and I will need to get better chisels down the line. I only have a really cheap 7 chisel set from MAGNUSSON. They're ok for light work but I've found them a struggle going into bigger timber. I keep them sharpend all the time but I think I should not have put the 2ndary bevel on them. I ONLY FOUND UR CHANNEL THIS MORNING SO I SUB'D LIKED and all that good stuff man. Tae it easy
Glad you liked the build :) Yeah, that’s a jack no. 5 from Stanley. Scrub would be shorter and with camber on the blade, I think… Hand tools are awesome, just keep practising :)
Cmon Tars!!! 😂😂😂
That music is perfect for this video 😁
Especially the William Tell Overture, right? :)
I knew it before the end of turning!!
Kudos, you’re one of the few ;)
What kind of wood is that????!
White oak
@@BlankPlank O , i see .
A man who knows how to put his wood to good use. Thank you for this and for your hard work and thoroughness
My pleasure!
Is that pine wood?
Spruce
Please tell me the dimensions: length, width
It’s in the video :)
Nice looking bench. Hope you're getting a lot of use out of it. Good video, too. Thanks.
You bet, it’s getting abused all the time :)
Hi, great video 🎉. Do you have any plans for this workbench?
Thanks ;) No plans mate, I was making up dimensions and layout on the fly
Well done!
Super realizacja (film i miski)! Czekam na następne :)
Dzięki :) Będą kolejne! Realizacje, niekoniecznie z miskami 😛
Wojtek, miski pierwsza klasa, a film to już extra liga, super się oglądało :)
Też jestem za taką kolejnością, dzięki :D
Bowl with number 1, what did i win? :)
A heart, because that was the one with ❤️
Nice work, i love your humor ;)
Oh man, this is my favourite video! Thanks :)
This is SO satisfying to watch.
I promise to keep it up ☺️🫡
May I ask a technical question? Before you glue the 2x4s to make the surface of the workbench, what is the goal of planing the 2x4s if you are going to plane again after gluing? Thanks!
Good question :) It was so long ago I had to really think about this 😁 Planing individual 2x4s is easier for big material removal - and that’s what removing the roundovers was all about. If I did a better job, the planing after glue up would be minimal. But it wasn’t too bad either. I guess you could plane everything when glued, but from a perspective of a somewhat experienced woodworker that I am now - that route was easier ;)
Thank you for the tip!🎉🎉🎉
May I ask a few more? Really appreciated! What is the final table height? Do you have rods connecting the two tool well pieces with the rest of the table?
I can check the height tomorrow, but it should be suited for your needs. If you plan to do some heavy planing on it - it should be lower, for fine joinery and delicate work - higher. Do some mock-ups and try for yourself :) There are no rods, just the dowels, but that’s for registration purposes only. Basically all construction is visible in the video :)
Dowel is what I meant. Still learning the terminologies. Haha. So the only dowels are between the two tool well pieces then! Got it!
😀😀😀 it's exciting and most importantly for an important cause👍👍👍

trzeba próbować :) nawet mi na pierwszym miejscu nie zależy 😛 i całe szczęście, bo konkurencja konkret.

I used the bottom of one of my crutches for the same reason. This is way better. Time to add it to my list of projects. dziękuję za inspirację
From one inspiration to another - I got mine from Adam Savage ;) Fajnie, że się przydaje!
Mmmm.
02:37 🔎😅 But by the way a great job, your workbench 👌🏻
I'm making this and making a video on it, brb
Did you make it yet? :D
3:58 Hi, I’d like to see your workbench all finished with the vise and dog holes etc…
Hey :) You can watch my other videos where I use it or see my instagram profile at wp.blankplank ;)
For example the bookshelf video :)
@@BlankPlank thanks
Do you find that the spruce is heavy enough in the finished bench? Or does it move across the floor during certain operations? I used spruce for my English workbench and it definitely moves with harder tasks.
I was actually quite sprucerized how heavy the finished bench was :) Nevertheless I did weigh it down with a custom chest of drawers full of tools
Nice job
Thanks :)
