BTW 2: My alligator clips were connected in series with three 400 W halogen lamps (connected in parallel), it's just a short-circuit protection I use (I sometimes use a smaller, 60 W bulb, but it would drop too much voltage in these current draw tests), so I didn't mention it. Contactor that's actuated by the foot switch switches both live and neutral.
BTW 3: The second breaker in the last picture (6 A) is to disconnect this meter when it won't be in use. I don't trust it enough to keep it running unattend...
