2017 Ford Edge Titanium - Power saving mode - charging system service now error code - Fix part 2
Hey everybody, I just wanted to give you guys a video of another fix that I did back in August for my 2017 Ford Edge Titanium with eco boost.

Back in August, as I was driving my car a message came up on my dash screen and the vehicle went into power saving mode and shut off in the middle of the road. I reached out to the dealership and they told me that I needed a new battery or that my alternator was bad.
Well I didn't believe them so I did some research and I learned that there is a fuse for the alternator, so I wanted to check that out to make ...

2017 Ford Edge Titanium Turbo 2.0 liter engine P1450 error code Dealership stated I needed to replace my vapor purge canister valve. Thanks for this video! I’ve been having similar issues. I just bought a new battery putting it in tmrw 🤞🏼that’s what it is. My battery is old. If the battery doesn’t solve it? Then I’ll know where to start 😊

    Heat shrunk line needs to be replaced. Not that simple but overall an easy job. Dealers charging $700 to fix are scammers.

    That hose is heatshrunk on there you have to cut it and splice 3/8 " fuel line hose to it and fit it back together,like they said over a 1000.00 repair job is a 15.00 DIY,250.00 smoke test haha.

      Correct they say Cadillac but it fits both. If you search the part number it comes back to a different vehicle but why was it already in my vehicle in the first place when I just had the engine replaced last year at the dealers?

    By now I'm sure that you have repaired your purge valve assembly but for the benefit of others trying to separate that short piece of hose from the branch tee fitting, one person in another video simply "gently" cut the hose on the branch tee end of that short hose, being very careful not to cut into the fitting itself which would damage it, potentially creating another small leak at that connection. That short hose is heat shrunk at the factory onto the branch tee and the purge valve so after cutting it off, it has to be replaced with a short piece of rubber vacuum hose, (available at any auto parts store) and secured with a small hose clamp at each end to ensure there are no leaks. Ford makes you purchase the entire purge valve assembly with all three hoses attached as part of the assembly, which brings the cost of that part up to around $200.00, just for the part. Add to that, the labor cost to replace the entire assembly, (one end of one of the three hoses is really hard to get at adding to the cost of labor), which easily could exceed $500.00 at most garages, when in fact the only problem 99.99% of the time is the purge valve itself. Thanks for posting your video.

      Yes I did use the hose clamps to make sure there was no air leaking. Still no issues since .

    • @ChristinaDavis-fk9wt
      @ChristinaDavis-fk9wt Год назад

      Yes, Of course...what I did was as I went to advanced auto parts and asked for 3/8 inch evac hose and steel hose clamps. I had them cut me about a foot of hose just in case I made a mistake I had extra. I had to use an exact o knife in order to cut the hose off of the purge cannister value then add the hose with the clamps. Hope this helps! Let me know if not and I can create a video with just the hose.
