Oak Side Table Makeover: Modern Transformation with Paint, Stain & Stylish Feet!
In this video, I’m taking on the challenge of transforming a dated oak end table into a sleek, modern piece. Watch as I use a combination of paint, stain, and new modern feet to give this table a fresh, updated look. But not everything goes smoothly - I struggled with deciding whether to keep some of the original hardware, and/or which pieces to replace, and what colors I even wanted the hardware to be! It’s always tough making these decisions, but I hope the final result is as amazing as I’m envisioning! Stick around to see how it all comes together and let me know what you think of the final design. #hardware #furnituredecisions #whitecladtable #designdecisions

    I think the paint looks so tasteful! I’ve seen it done other ways, but the wood is still showcased in a cute way, and the color isn’t too flashy. Great job!

    It’s an old dresser, even with the dings it would have looked better if you didn’t cover up the beautiful wood with paint. You could use shellac to seal it and it will fill in the dings naturally.

    Hi can i only use matte finish top coat

    • @restyledpiecesboutique
      @restyledpiecesboutique 24 дня назад

      You can.., but you have to be careful not to use too much or more than 2 coats as it can dry more cloudy with flat. I have always just tried to be safe and I would use semi gloss or satin first, then a coat of flat. It will have the sheen of flat and still be nice and clear. 😊 Hope this helps. 😊

    It looks fine... I guess... but you lose the charm of the gorgeous dark wood. Not everything needs to be greige. Also there's no way the paint on the hardware is gonna last, it'll start peeling in a month tops

    • @restyledpiecesboutique
      @restyledpiecesboutique 24 дня назад

      Well, thanks for watching. I love the beige color. To each his own 😊 I’ve had pieces of my own that I spray-painted and top coated the hardware and it has lasted for two years and going strong. So, I believe it had to do with proper preparation. Thanks for watching. 😊

    If I recall correctly you are using the air cap that came with the system, 1.4 mm. I wonder if you try a 1.8 mm if that would be better for latex paints

      I have now had this Q5 for 7-8 months. I do not spray latex paint, but I use acrylic enamel or acrylic resin enamel water based paints. So durable!! However, yes, I use a 1.8 tip and have for quite awhile now. I use a 1.3 for topcoat. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 😊

    Late seeing this but you are so right about starting the sander after you set it in place on the piece. I found out the hard way that orbital sanders can really gouge the wood when spinning full force and then contacting the wood! 😤

    Thank you for watching and for your support! I do thin the Kilz Restoration some as it is very thick. I have found that if I try to scratch test the Restoration an hour or two after I have applied it, it will sometimes scratch off (only lived through that once😮). However, if I wait overnight and come back the next day it passes with flying colors! It has pretty much been my routine to wait until the next day with any primer before paint. Sorry it didn’t work for you. Hope you find the one you like the best. 😊 I painted the back because there were discolored area and I just felt it would look so beat up in contrast to the white once I painted it. There were also some holes and things I filled on the back. However, I normally do not paint the backs. Thanks again! 😊

    Nice video, lots of work went into the production and it’s evident. VoiceOver sounded good too. Well balanced and I liked your choice of background music, caught the Steve Miller sample too. 😊 I’ve tried Restoration primer and hated it, my experience with it is so much different than yours. I found it to be too think without thinning which can mess up adherence. And even then it was chipping off my pieces. Wild stuff, but some love it. Glad it’s working for you; it might be my climate and humidity here. Why did you spray the back? Overall, a pretty piece. And well done, will subscribe to check out your other vids. 😊
