Imagine it like a liquid beef stock, which makes a beef soup or dipping suace of your desired viscosity. You dont drink it (some do, if they love it), it its generally for dressing for vegetables, or dipping sauce for a beef sandwhich etc

I loved your reactions. As a Brit, I like the occassion mug of Bovril (maybe once or twice a year). And sometimes on hot buttered toast or in a sandwich.

One of my good friends who is from the Midwest loves Marmite. It is the first time I have ever seen an American love the stuff since most people outside of the UK and a lot of Brits themselves think the stuff is foul. So I got him a jar of Bovril, reminding him that it shares some similarity to Marmite but is largely beef based. He still hasn't yet opened it so I guess he might be afraid..... Who knows?

Well that's disappointing. I've always been curious about Bovril, since it sounds like instant beef broth. How can it go wrong? I've also wondered if anyone has ever spiked a bowl of instant beef ramen with some bovril. It looks like no one has ever tried it.

As a seasoned Bovril drinker I have to tell you that didn't do it properly. The mugs you used were far too large for the quantity of Bovril you spooned. Also, try sprinkling a healthy quantity of white pepper to the finished drink. Enjoy!
