Do i leave my display change resolution setting in nvidia control planel at 1920x1080 or change it to Dynamic super resolution 1080p, 2560x1440, hd 1.78.DL. Im confused if im supposed to change this too because my highest it goes is 120hz not 240 like the on beneath saying just 2560x1440 1.78xDL

Doesnt really look better but it does look a lot sharper. If fixing blur is your only goal it does the job. Otherwise not so much.

My concern is the "let the 3d application decide" instead of using "advanced 3d image settings". Will the former perform better than the latter?

Wtf 😂 “this looks better than native 1080p” lmao. I suggest you to do a research about the problem with all the scaling methods and TAA that all the next gen games have. It is blurry in all resolutions with scalers activated and with it deactivated there are artifacts in the textures because of the lack of optimization and the devs cover it with the scalers and TAA

HAGS is good if you find your CPU bottlenecking. Can cause issues with OBS though.

it looks bad at 1080p because its upscaling 720p on quality Lmao native looks better no matter what saying DLSS looks better is Cope since its a Blurry AA and all Blurry AA is bad just like TAA. The only benefit for DLSS really is making games playable at 4K.

The problem with HAGS that most people seemingly ignore is that it can definitely cause problems with older games.

It's funny that in every one of those video's comments, you'll see a slew of people praising the uploader for giving them a stellar experience. Goes to show that people will believe anything if they WANT to believe it hard enough.

I still find NVidia Control Panel useful from time to time, for instance, for setting global framerate caps or enforcing v-sync in indie games that might not have a detailed settings list. But I agree that it's mostly not useful anymore for improving performance, because rendering topology has moved on from the per-vertex shading of over a decade ago.

Try to disable hpet, set globaltimerresolutionrequests to enabled, then try to set timer resolution timer to 0.500, use different programs for example iscl doesn't work how it supposed, then measure fps, frame time, stuttering and latency, your gaming experience will change immediately. I did a huge research, this works for ALL amd cpu for some reason, idk why so few information about it, but your pc smoothness will increase dramaticly.

How did you enable HPET for these benchmarks? just enable it in the device manager or did you also force it on by using -useplatformclock yes in cmd?

The only thing i change is the preferred gpu. Microsoft likes to have dwm randomly use your gpu constantly even at idle. I change global to my igpu and set all my games to use the actual gpu.

great video I just wanted to point some stuff out and this is gonna be a long comment so sorry for any grammar or spelling problems 1. full screen exclusive aka legacy flip is the older model. It was made to improve latency for fullscreen apps, but the newer version (windowed fullscreen) is the newer version that aims for both latency and fps. If you try them correctly you can see that the latency is much better in legacy flip but the fps is kind of more stable on windows fulscreen. now what do I mean when I say "correctly"? you cant just turn this setting off, you have to do some registery tweaks and some windows tweaks. 2. As you suggested, the "Ultimate power plan" or the "high performance mode" are useless. You can make your own power plan but it takes time. you can try some popular power plan like khorvie's or coreveair's power plans. In my expirience, power plans dont effect fps what so ever but they effect the latency SO MUCH. I cant stress how much they effect enough. 3. Windows animations have an effect on older pc with limited system components. But for newer pcs they have no effects. 4. Like my last point (3), game overlays dont really effect new pcs. some other stuff i'd like to add: most of "optimizations" are useless in modern pcs. Thats because almost 80% just reduce the system power usage so it can be used by games, but in newer desktops you dont event need to do that. because almost 99 of all the stuff going on in windows are bullying core 0 and guess what? JUST DONT USE CORE 0.

Do you have the one with gpu scheduling, cpu scheduling something in regedit? its bundled with sysresponsiveness etc.

i do this on my 1080p screen, But i use DLSS Quality or DLAA because my PC is very strong. But it makes my screen a 1440p with much better graphics, the quality difference is huge.

Honestly wouldn’t recommend using dlss at 1080p at all. The resolution drop doesn’t leave it much to build off from resulting in a fairly big quality drop off. The sweet spot for dlss is 1440p with quality setting, ultra wide 1440p with balanced setting, and 4K with performance or ultra performance setting. The rule of thumb is to have your render resolution somewhere around 1080p to have enough real information in the scenes for AI to build from. This generally avoids issues like shimmering, blurriness, smudging, ghosting, and distant detail visual bugs.
