Arda Güler Needs A Place to Play
Arda Güler is good enough to play at Real Madrid, but he's not going to unseat the club's stars for playing time anytime soon. The Turkish teenager needs to be playing regularly somewhere, and if that means Real Madrid selling him or sending him out on loan, then that's what needs to happen.

It's OK That Pochettino Won't Recruit

We Need Officials from Other Countries

PGMOL's latest controversary is thanks to David Coote's drunk video rant about Jurgen Klopp, but it's overshadowing a long-standing problem of optics. Fans have, for a long time, believed that certain officials are biased because of their own rooting interests, and whether these beliefs are valid or not, they are common enough to be a problem. And the solution could not be more simple.

Could a Super League Save Sporting CP?

It has become a forgone conclusion that Sporting CP, and many other strong clubs in second tier nations, will lose their best players, coaches and administrators as soon as they prove their worth. But what if that didn't have to happen? Is there a way that the best clubs in Portugal, Belgium and the Netherlands could compete with the rest of Europe and keep their best assets? We think there is.
Now More than Ever, Manchester United Needs Patience

The Industry Behind the Erling Haaland Transfer Rumors

Why Dont You Like the New Champions League Format?

The new Champions League format was widely panned when it was announced, and even now, three games into the competition, many are still complaining. But why? I love the new format and have yet to hear any valid reasons why it's bad. It's not confusing as many have said, and it's creating drama from the outset. Is this just a case of nostalgia and fear of change winning out? If you have an actua...

Now Slot has a beautiful start at LIverpool. What a manager!
I had higher expectations than most and even this is shocking!
United! 😁
He was quite a hire!
Unless there's a massive breakthrough, this is where I think we're at now. US doesn't have the goalkeeping or centerbacks to make it through probably the first and definitely the second round of the World Cup. Pooch is currently trying to make us look as respectable as possible for 26 on the national stage. Even with that above statement being realized by everyone - even probably him. IMHO - the best strategy to use 6 years of Pooch is to focus on getting reps to younger guys. That way we have something really scary for 2030 that looks like it'd be a challenge in the first 2 rounds if not further. Pooch's methodology and practice standards are the gains this program needs. It's what our youth needs as we get ready for an era where Cavan Sullivan leads Team USA into the future with veterans from 2030. In the last game I kept thinking that Diego Luna would've kept us alive in the Danger Zone and made it a different game. I kinda get that Luna might not have the athleticism but I think he'd be the super-sub that we put in down 1-2 in a game against South America and get us a goal. We aren't kicking from deep at all.
Yeah I agree there’s not much Poch or anybody else can do to dramatically change the player pool. The only part I’ll disagree with is the 6 years - I don’t think he’ll be our coach for anywhere near that long. I would predict he leaves after the ‘26 WC and goes back to a top tier club job, particularly if the US has any success. Only way he stays is if the US flops and the offers don’t come in.
Mauricio Pochettino's reputation is that he grinds everything out of a player. They have to have the spirit to basically endure hell on earth training and the rewards usually come with them being very wealthy - just from the specialized training he gives centerbacks and midfielders. It's psychologically brutal. I know Pochettino is saying "they really have to want to play for the US" , but I'm pretty sure the underlying part of all of that is "does a young player want to play for the US with Mauricio Pochettino's heavy training." Look at the Spurs in 2017. Kane(23), Dele (21), Son (24), Eriksen (24). Like he gained the reputation of maximizing academy pipeline players at a young age. Now mix it with Wanyama who Pochettino , the key centerpiece to his tactical magic, who he found before leaving Southhamptom before bringing him to Spurs. He was ....drumroll.... 22 years old. The idea that Pooch is here to simply maximize lower grade US players for a flash in the pan is obviously not why the USMNT signed him. Outside of maybe Pulisic, it's hard to even say that any player on the current USMNT will be all but guaranteed a spot for 2030. Anrie Chase and his agent or whatever agent is trying to steal him from Japan know that MP's development of him as a CB is the difference in hundreds of millions of dollars. And on the flip side, even if Pooch has an exit strategy , Arnie Chase unlocking himself into being a World Cup superstar CB in 26 and def by 2030 would probably get another high level team to pay him $$$$ to develop youth talent into superstars again. I don't think he'll get the opportunity to do much if the US doesn't really do much in the WC on its own home turf. I also don't know if he has aspirations to deal with the short windows and rotating sporting directors that european soccer put him through.
That will not be the solution. Better screening of referees will the long term solution to this saga.
Screening how? There’s already a shortage of capable officials. I’d pair this with a dramatic increase in officials training and incentives to get into officiating to increase the pool of candidates. Then perhaps you could screen more strictly, but for now they can’t afford to limit the amount of officials they have. I’d rather just let them support the clubs they support and make them go officiate Bundesliga and La Liga games instead.
@@pitchsidepub Brit-exit part of the problem i reckon.
Having Poch at the helm means any US-Argentina dual national will sign on with the USMNT without a second thought, no? 😂
I would certainly think so!
I only play tactical view and I watch all my games, and its sad that they haven't made user cpu sliders available (same as the new AI sliders). Because my players don't tackle at all, and I can't change it. That being said, I use my own sliders a lot different than these (faster gameplay) because if not there's nothing happening in the game. It'll end 0-0. Players will walk with the ball and I might only have the ball once a half. I've made it interesting now with my sliders, and I've fun games. I'm sure its different if you play your own games tho.
The second tier of leagues are the Russian, Turkish, Portuguese, Dutch and Belgian leagues
Something tells me the Russians wouldn’t be welcome but yes you could add Turkey into the mix.
ruclips.net/video/ox735RShneA/видео.html :)
Porto fan here, i do like this idea to some degree as it would be more interesting and it would be cool to see us play against dutch and belgian clubs more often, but i feel like in terms of culture and tradition it doesnt really work, it would feel really weird playing in a league that isnt the portugese league, theres lots of clubs in Portugal that we like to play against as they hold good history in the league or have rivalries and so many stories in the past, also travelling for away fans would be rough. as a concept i like the idea but in truth i dont think most people would prefer it. i think the much better solution would be for UEFA to be more fair with the revenue they distribute as its shared very unevenly and to stop glazing the top 5 league so hard, from the top 5 leagues we have 24 teams in the ucl, from 6th-8th we have 5. this is not at all fair and UEFA awarding ligue 1 an extra ucl spot this season was ridiculous, how between 5th and 7th ranked association there are 2 whole spots. also these 2 extra european performance spots also dont help. if UEFA were fair i can promise you these clubs would have a much easier time holding onto talents as they have more money. thats just my take on it
No that’s totally fair. The culture and tradition is what’s going to keep this from ever happening and I understand that, it’s just a shame to a certain extent. I’m not sure UEFA distributing money fixes the problem. So much of the team revenue comes from television contracts. The Premier League has the biggest, so they have the most money. France has a poor one and it’s causing them to fall behind. That would be the beauty of combining the countries - I think you could really sell it. But I do think people would struggle not having their teams in their top domestic league.
@@pitchsidepub yh i fully agree. but its also worth pointing out that in recent years Porto and Sporting have changed owners and they seem to be building solid projects and eventually both clubs should become competitive in Europe again, and if these teams can begin making runs to the quarters and semifinals of the UCL (one day) then hopefully players will want to stay rather than go to midtable premier league clubs like is the case right now of coruse we are never going to have the pull power of Real madrid or Liverpool but maybe we can get on level with the top italian clubs one day if things go well. Benfica might be changing owners too which would be beneficial for them aswell.
So, I guess I should ignore the Twitter reports I’ve been seeing about a Haaland transfer to the Yankees.🤔
About as likely as him going to Barcelona. At least the Yankees have money.
WHOS HERE AFTER HEARING HE IS ABOUT TO BE HIRED BY MANCHESTER UNITED
You and thousands of others. Welcome!
And now he is going to Man Utd
Looks that way!
Who’s here after United sacked ten hag !
One minute you define his style as having a low block, the next minute you say a drawback is his high defensive line. Which is it?
Both actually. Amorim applies hybrid methodology and more importantly has shown the willingness and ability to adjust his tactics in-game. He presses very aggressively when out of possession which is why the weakness in his style can be getting caught having too high of a back line. But when that press is broken, and then recovered (and that's the key point that I may have been missing in the video), the defensive shape often settles into a low block, with the wide players dropping back to join the three center backs, creating a five man back line, and the two holding midfielders sliding back creating at least 7 in the box. Then sometimes the CDM's slide out wide and one of the attacking midfielders in the front three dops back to the middle for support, giving them 8 in the box in some OOP opportunities. He was a disciple of Mourinho so he has that low block mentality in his coaching DNA, but he isn't afraid to press with a higher line early in the opponent's possession the way Mourinho often resisted doing (particularly with Spurs). So yes, low block and high line are opposites, but they can be employed by the same team at different times depending on where on the pitch their opponent has the ball. Not every coach would be willing to do both, and the main drawback is it's a physically taxing system for the wide players (wing backs or wide midfielders) and central midfielders. It's also worth noting that he doesn't always attempt to do both at the same time, which I suppose is another clarification I should have included in my explanation. He can, and has, at times employed two tactics that are very different. There are opponents against whom he presses much more aggressively with a higher line. There are others against whom he sits deeper. It's his ability to adjust from opponent to opponent and even mid-game that will serve him well. It's worked for him in Portugal and it will be interesting to see if it works against more talented attacking teams (though he'll be executing it will more talented defenders). Perhaps I should have gone into more detail on the nuance of when and how he executes this but I was attempting to create a more surface-level bio video for those who don't know Amorim at all.
@@pitchsidepub Thanks for your response. As you said, most managers favour one or the other, so without the added explanation the description seemed like a contradiction. Interesting that he opts for that much tactical flexibility. Pep's influence has made having a clear style of play seem almost a pre requisite for a "top" coach. United have really struggled to establish a recognisable style in recent years. If he signs, I hope it works, but having seen those players calamitously try to employ one pressing style, the thought of them trying to switch seamlessly between two opposite styles raises my blood pressure. The first thing you said about pressing high, then switching if the press is beaten sounds near impossible to me. Since you should press as a team so as not to leave big gaps, I would think once it's beaten it's too late to revert to a low block because you've committed numbers high. Maybe I'm picturing it too instantaneously and you more mean if the opponents fail to build an attack having beaten the press, but establish possession in the middle third? I'll watch some more of Sporting to get a better grasp of it.
@@Sam-bd7gp I will say that constantly playing against inferior competition in Portugal makes it much more plausible. It may be much tougher to do against Premier League competition and he may have to lean towards one or the other. Remains to be seen.
Dortmund would really help him grow. He will fit that role that Pascal Gros is occupying this season
I always feel comfortable when a young player goes to Dortmund, despite what’s happened to Gio Reyna!

He is a generational talent. As a Sunderland fan I watch him every week and I talk with my friends about how good he is, and not just for a 17 year old, I mean this kid is special. When we sell him, and we will, it will be for eye-watering money. Currently, one of the bigger clubs in the world should grab a £60m bargain, because WHEN Sunderland go back up to the Premier League it will be a lot more than that.
Completely agree. The longer they keep him the more the price goes up. Could be club-changing revenue but still a shame he’ll eventually leave, particularly if Sunderland get promoted and could offer him PL experience next season.
Second game with r. madrid against newcastle won 9-6 .... superb sliders

are those sliders good for ps4 gameplay? (4 min time of play)
Give it a shot. I tested them on PS5 but they may work just fine.
Since this rule had been played for 25 years, there were 9 times that a team dropped from the UCL group stage won the Europa League/UEFA Cup: 2000-Galatasaray 2002-Feyenoord 2005-CSKA Moscow 2009-Shakhtar Donetsk 2010-Atletico Madrid 2013-Chelsea 2016-Sevilla 2018-Atletico Madrid 2023-Sevilla Additionally, there were 10 times that the finalist was from the UCL group stage: 2000-Arsenal 2002-Borussia Dortmund 2004-Marseille 2008-Rangers 2009-Werder Bremen 2011-Braga 2013-Benfica 2014-Benfica 2020-Inter 2021-Manchester United
Thank you for adding this!
Should I play with default or slow pace? And sliders work if I play six minutes half length?
I kept the rest of the non-slider settings as default. The sliders will work on any half length but since I lowered the overall scoring environment you may see it be too low scoring on shorter half lengths (it’s designed for the default ten). If that’s the case, lower the shot error a little, or lower the gk ability slightly. That will allow a few more goals in. But don’t move them too far. A few points adjusted on those sliders make a huge difference.
good work, but can u plz make the sliders for cpu vs cpu(tactical view😢)
So I don’t actually use tactical view but someone else in the comments said they used these in tactical view and they still worked.
ill try it ty❤❤@@pitchsidepub
I will try tommorow thanks, just rage quit my carrer mode because it is really frustrating to play against man city you can never get the ball and they always score
Oh yeah, there are no sliders to make man city beatable, though frankly that too is realistic.
I play on extreme difficulty and I have a problem: when I set up my attacks, the opposing AI doesn’t defend well; the AI is often too stretched between midfield and defense and doesn’t mark my attackers. They intercept the ball but don’t mark, the team is often too long, and the midfield doesn’t filter well. Can this be fixed with sliders or not?
To a certain extent you can help fix it but probably not all the way. If the AI is too stretched, raise the CPU line height. The higher the line height, the closer the back line plays to the midfield. The problem is the midfield doesn’t track back properly and that can’t be fixed. If the defense isn’t marking your attackers I’d increase the CPU marking before I’d adjust the AI tackle frequency. It’ll make a bigger difference. And if they’re intercepting passes too much while not marking, lower the user pass error and raise the user pass speed so your passes will be crisper and more accurate. Hope this helps!
I have marking to 75 for CPU....do i Need to increase the marking even more?
@pitchsidepub
@@eugeniozingaropoli9687 no that definitely should be plenty. It’s so bizarre, if I did that I’d be getting mugged every time I got the ball. I have to lower it to even get the ball across midfield. It’s wild how different the game is from person to person.
@@pitchsidepub but the game Is the same, this Is strange....i don't know how to do
I typically play on Ultimate. Right now I’m average on Legendary, and dominate in World Class. I hope you sliders will work for me, and looking at the comments, I do only play 6 minute halves so I should consider lowering shot error and GK ability. As I get some games are low scoring, but I’m literally not scoring in consecutive games… (MAKES ME RAGE AND WANNA RETURN THE GAME WHICH I CANT)
Like using CUTZY’s sliders. I lost 0-3 to PSV as a FC Barcelona. Out of frustration went down to World Class and won 5-0 vs Atletico Madrid. Just can’t find the right sliders to make the game enjoyable and realistic.
Try it on these on Ultimate and 10 min halves just to start since that’s how they were designed to work. Then tinker from there if you’re still not scoring. But you should be able to get done good shots off with these. Good luck!
@@pitchsidepub trying it right now as we speak! Thank you!
@@pitchsidepubperfect sliders thank you! Any chance you have any harder sliders? Like I’m destroying teams I’m suppose to destroy but I don’t need to be beating athletics Madrid 3-0 sometimes. Or even have them at least get up to 5 shots on target
@@SpiderMan-qs2td I would increase the AI aggression slider. That’s the easiest way to dictate the intensity with which the opponent attacks you
good work, thanks... only modification, I prefer a much higher buildup speed for the AI, otherwise in Ultimate you get the opposing teams hugging the ball forever and not really moving forward... same for tackle aggression, pushed up to 80, the AI doesn't really tackle otherwise
Yeah I’ve been getting similar feedback which is interesting. When I play I get absolutely mugged by defenders the second I come into possession. I’m going to continue playing and tinkering and will publish updates if necessary. As for AI buildup, this is more of a preference. I personally find that realistic since many teams play possession based football, but if you want to play a more upbeat pace by all means raise that slider. My only recommendation is to do it gradually because it will be noticeably responsive. Enjoy!
Very good video however, this year the AI is just broken. AI defender just ball watching my attackers. I even try push aggression to 99 still do nothing. I also try run frequency and marking to 99 too. Same thing, I can keep the ball as long as I want, AI defender never bother to throw a tackle in.
I give u a subscribe for ur work! I’ll try that since i’m struggling to find enjoyable gameplay… Are u using assisted controls or Manual ? I’m on semi-auto
Thank you! I haven’t changed any of the default settings outside of the sliders so it’s whatever it comes as out of the box. I believe that’s assisted…
Do you think I can use this on tactical view thank you
I’m sure you can but I don’t believe it will have any affect. Sliders only control manual gameplay. I don’t believe they have any affect on simulations.
@@pitchsidepub thank you they do a CPU Vs CPU on tactical view I will give it a try
Interesting. No idea how that will work but I’m interested to find out. Let me know!
@@pitchsidepub yes of course I will let you know
Hi it worked fantastic I played6 mins Half's on tactical view which is CPU Vs CPU I play this because I'm not very good at playing so I watch it like football manager
Thanks I will try them. Have been super frustated with the game being way too easy and high-scoring at Ultimate difficulty
Easy isn’t a problem I have. I get smoked on Ultimate. Can’t stop the cpu when they have the ball. But games are like 8-5. Not fun at all. This will definitely slow things down.
Thank you for this video and the work you've put into this! I'll try them and let you know how they work for me. I hope it helps because so far i was really annoyed by the unrealistic gameplay
Great! I hope these help! I’m sure they’ll be a step in the right direction but yes please let me know what adjustments you think they need, if any. I’ll continue to tinker as I begin my career and will do updated versions of these based on my experience and feedback here in the comments if it feels necessary.
what half length ??
They’re built for the default half length at 10 minutes. If you choose to play shorter, you may need to lower the shot error and/or gk ability slightly if you don’t find yourself scoring enough goals.
Shhhhh were trying to keep him a secret
I think that cat’s out of the bag now!
