And the numbers above weren't even my best numbers. My best was 0-60 in 4.50s, quarter mile in 12.80s.

I agree. To the butt dyno, the JB+ feels punchier. But dragy proves otherwise. And I ran JB4 Map 2 only for a bit before I made my custom map 6. It didn't feel punchy but the car flew. I got better dragy numbers than stage 1 OTS maps. The car was also very driveable and responsive. It was fantastic.

Oh yeah. For just a stage 1 flash and nothing else, it isn't bad at all!

I had the JB+ before I got the JB4. The JB+ has a max boost of +4psi over stock iirc. The JB4 has different maps (3 additive and 2 absolute). It also has a map 6 that you can customise. Which is what I run. The feature that I needed was logging (since I don't have any other mods except for the piggyback and E85). You need access to good fuel to utilize the JB4 to the best of its ability. If you only have access to 91/92aki and no E85, the JB4 might not be that useful to you since you won't be able to produce much power because of timing drops. But then, again, you'll have to get logs to find drops (unless it's really bad and obvious). But yes. If you can find a used JB4 for a great price (like I did), I'd recommend you get that instead of a JB+.

I do 3.6-3.7 gallons E85 and rest 93 for a full tank of fuel. That bring the ratio to around E25 for me. Any higher and I get a drive train error (no CEL/limp mode) when I go WOT (doesn't happen all the time but when it does, it's usually because I over-fill). So yeah. E85/93 - 3.7/till tank is full or if I feel like trying to reduce some weight, I do 1.9/6.1 for around half a tank. If you're using E85 for the first time, I'd do a full tank first and then half tank fills for weight saving later since you'll already have around E25 in your tank when you fill up.

It depends on the fuel you plan on using. If you have 93aki fuel, you'll be able to run JB+ fine. If you have 91aki fuel, you'll have to bump boost down using the dial on the JB+. Your car will be fine as long as there are no drops, which we can't determine since JB+ doesn't have a way to log runs. I'd suggest searching for a used jb4 since you can log using that.

1. Engine has to be warmed up (drive the car around for 5 mins). 2. Car in sport/sport individual. 3. Gear shifter in M/S position (I don't know if launch control works if it is in manual shifting mode. I've only done it in S(port) shifting mode). 4. Traction control button pressed once to put DSC also in sport mode (do not long press it to turn it completely off). 5. Brake pedal to the floor and then throttle pedal also completely to the floor. Revs rise up to around 2900rpms and you'll see Launch control enabled pop up on the dashboard.

This map was made for me by a couple of extremely knowledgeable friends. We analysed my map 3 log and worked up from there slowly, making sure timing and AFRs and stuff looked great. We stopped increasing the boost at the first sign of a timing drop. So far, map has been flawless for me. Logs look perfect. Car is at almost 50k miles and zero issues. In my car, I cannot run E30 because it throws up a drivetrain error. That's why I stay at ~E25.

No sir. My A4 was stock in that (only had a 034 P34 CAI). My 330i in that video has a JB+ with the dial turned to the highest setting for max boost. The stock A4 was as fast as the 330i with a JB+. The EA888 engine is hard to beat performance-wise. And same reason why I haven't flash tuned the 330i. The thought of removing and shipping the DME scares me.

I agree with you 100%. I had a B9 A4 for 3 years before I got the 330i. My brother has a B9 A5 with a JB4 as well. His car is quicker than mine off the line. Feels significantly faster than mine. Haven't dragied his car though. I've always maintained that the EA888 engine is quicker than the B46, stock and tuned. Plus Quattro helps better than xDrive. So yeah.

I agree. I would've loved analog gauges as well. I don't like the analog ones in the G20 though. The F30 was better.

A jb+ definitely adds some performance and boost. My car is much slower stock (0-60 in 6.1-6.2s and quarter mile in 14.3s). The reason is the road I test on has a very visible upward incline. Only road that has zero traffic of any sort. So apples to apples yes. It does improve performance.

A stage 2 vento sounds good. I've actually driven one and I didn't find it all that much faster than my stage 1 car. Plus I don't use this car anymore. It hardly does like 5000 kms a year now. If I were in India, I would've spent more money on it or gotten something else.

What kind of modifications did u do in ur engine to get 150 hp and where u done it plus did u get ecu and tcu remap? If u did how's the power and mileage after it also overall reliability and mileage can u pls tell me

Remember. You need to be running an ethanol blend for those numbers. If you don't have access to E85 to blend, don't use it. You'll get timing issues which is bad for the engine. Again. Do NOT use it if you don't have access to ethanol.

With the additive maps, yes. There is a noticeable lag till around 3k rpm IIRC. After that, it lifts up it's skirt and runs. But my map 6 has been tuned for linear power. So the lag isn't that obvious. It's better than maps 1-3.

@@schnickschanck yea I did. With the kit it came an OBD witch automatically coded the car via an app made from them. Everithing was in Chinese but the car was coded successfully just as oem

@@carbonstore8266 one more question about the foot lamp wires. I thought you just replace the lamps but it seems you need to lay new cabels and connect them to the control box. What did you do with the original campel? just let them open?

Make sure you get logs in map 2, 3, 4, 5 before finalizing on a map 6

The slope readings with my dragy is wayyyyyyy off. For example. If I accelerate on an upward ramp and measure it, it shows negative slope. On the exact same road with same dragy placement, slope varies from -1 to +1. But most of the times, the runs are valid. The slope on the road I test my car on is positive. It has an upward slope. My car is faster if I do it in the other direction but I don't post those numbers.

Yup. We still have the car but it doesn't get much use because all of us live outside India. So it's used a few times a year. That being said, the car has been good to us. Only issue was injector failure (replaced two I believe). That happened recently at around 60k kms. No other issues other than rats. And yes. I've driven the 1.5tdi too. It felt tame though it was pretty fast. It missed the kick in the back the 1.6tdi gave.

Yes. You can add a few gallons of E85 to a full tank and run it without issues. Up to 3 gallons E85 is fine. Fill the rest with 93 aki fuel to help clean up the timing a bit. It will improve performance. Your numbers are really good for a JB+. Try get a quarter mile run too!!

@@VeeElJay also my jb plus is not tuned up all the way to 100%. I believe it is at the 3 o clock positioning . I heard some members of the forums not too happy with the jb plus at 100% but more so at 75%? Any suggestion ?

JB+ is a basic piggy back that only controls boost. Nothing else.

Heya. Yes I did. I bought transparent blue colored adhesive vinyl and cut it out to be larger than the light under there and then stuck it on top of that. I bought it from Michael's but I can't seem to find it now. You might be able to get it on Amazon. I had to stick two layers to get it to be blue enough for me. One layer of adhesive vinyl wasn't dark enough. But now it looks perfect.

@@MrJoe1627 I checked the Michael's website today and couldn't find the item i bought. I'll search for the vinyl i have at home and see if there's a name or something on it. But I searched Amazon and found dark blue transparent vinyl tape that is self adhesive (brand: Paper street plastics). That might work too.

You're welcome! I haven't seen too many dragy runs of the new X3. That being said, times could be slightly better since the road i did it on has a slight upward incline.

Absolutely no other mods. Just JB4 and some E85 to help get perfect ignition timing.

Coding in sport plus makes the throttle more responsive than in sport. It's not like sport plus in the Fxx cars where TC is in sport mode. But it does make the car feel faster. It doesn't change anything for launch control though.

Those are excellent numbers for just a JB+ and catless dp. What fuel are you using? And do you know what your car does stock? My car, stock, is extremely slow. Lol

@@VeeElJay 93 pump shell v power . And I never tested my car stock tbh. But I did test it with catless downpipe only ( no jb plus ) and it ran 5.4 best 5.32. Now with jb plus paired with catless dp 4.8 very consistently and 4.76 was the best time . My jb plus is at the 3 o clock dial ( 75 percent ) do you think I’d be running better times if I turn it up all the way to 100%?

With the car in dynamic and transmission in S, it was good. BMW is the best when it comes to tuning the ZF. Absolutely wonderful. But purely engineering, the EA888 is better than the B46/48 when it comes to refinement and outright performance.

@@VeeElJay EA in A4 is slightly different than the one in GTI/A3. Less potential. Dynamic mode in Audi already puts transmission in S. In BMW you get additional mode, you can be in Sport when engine response and transmission is slightly up or slap stick to the left and put transmission in even more aggressive Sport mode. Audi does not have that. After spending some seat time in both, I think B46/48 has more low end torque that starts a bit sooner than in Audi. Audi tends to hold on to a gear counting on torque that simply does not exist at 1800rpm. It gets tiring really fast when you are always lugging the engine. Having said that 330i is not without its faults,. I think regular Sport mode could be a bit more aggressive (Like in F30), it also tries to hold on to high gear. All in all I still think BMW is better overall driver.

I agree. I had to get the DL382 tune , paired with Unitronic Stage 1+, and the car dropped 60 time to 4.6 seconds, and as smooth as a lexus.

I agree with regards to transmission. BMW/ZF is better than Audi/DSG. Engine-wise. When it comes to stock and tuning opportunities, the A4 is better. I have/had both cars for 3 years. I didn't do much other than piggybacks on both. But I know people having A4s and 330is. B46/48 owners, so far, haven't been able to achieve performance levels close to what A4 owners have gotten (B9/9.5 vs G20). The B46 is a very good engine. Just that the EA888 is slightly better is all. Can't go wrong with either in the end.

Heya. I'll answer to the best of my knowledge. 1. Absolutely no reliability issues so far. Been almost 2.5 years now and I'm loving every moment of it. 2. Custom map is a map you can make if you have other mods and better (increased octane) fuel. I don't have any other mods but I have access to ethanol. So I can increase boost (more than what map 3 provides). It also helps that my custom map 6 is an absolute value (not additive like maps 1-3). It helps the car feel much smoother than in map 1-3. If I change duty bias, it will affect all maps. But then, I only run map 6. Most people don't go to other maps if they make changes. So it works out well. 3. The B58 EWG cable is the one that works with the B46/48 as well. If you buy a new unit, the cable comes preinstalled now. If not, you need the B58 cable. 4. Yes. It is consistent (depending on your fuel quality). I used to lower boost in the summers with the old firmware (because my turbo was working at it's max and the cold temp of the winter helps with making boost; when it's hot in the summer, the turbo was working harder to produce same boost and I reduced it to ease the load on the turbo). With the newer firmwares, I've noticed that the turbo wasn't working as hard and thus I don't reduce it now.

Those runs were done a while ago. We did some tweaking after that after checking many many many logs. My car is significantly faster now. To give you an example. I did an impromptu run with an M550i. Red traffic light start. Both of us went WOT. No launch control. He could not catch or pass me until around 120mph when my speed limiter kicked in. Both of us were shocked at how fast my car was. Did it twice. Both times same result. And yes. It was done in Mexico ;)

@@VeeElJay OK. I'm trying the same thing G20 330i RWD with my DME Tuning flash (350hp/350tq) and I get a lot of smoke off the line trying to use Launch Control ,(TC off). Even when I try to go without LC, my 60 runs are comparable to stock: 5.3-5.4 second range. I'm thinking there is a way around it?
