If you are MAKING this dress, I advise that you watch the full video first because I do run into an issue and I figure it out during step 4b. The pattern has a typo that confused me, but I eventually got it sorted out! 😅

This is the most positive video I have seen on this pattern!!! A lot of sewists saying its a bad pattern, the fact I have now cut out my pattern and fabric , this scared me 😂 but after watching your tutorial I think it's now achievable 🎉
Oh I love how they turned out!
@@Bloomsewing_studio thank you! Me too. I wear them all the time!
You are such a sweet creator. I enjoy your videos and spending time with the mindful person you are.
oh my, that is so kind. thank you!
Love this! I can’t get enough of sew alongs and your videos are always so relaxing and enjoyable- best of both worlds! I’m seriously in love with the dress now, gonna have to make my own 😂
Renee, you have been so kind in the comments! Thank you 😄 I always feel like they're so boring, but I love watching sew alongs 😅
@ Anything I can do to support your channel! Love everything about your channel! Same! I don’t know what it is about these sew alongs that draw me in 🤣
@ you’re so kind! 🥹🥰✨
I love this stretch! It’s perfect for when I don’t have time for a workout, but I need a little something to get my body moving in the morning. Thanks so much! 😁
Beautiful! 😊
@@teresaelling-peacefulhome thank you!
Ahhh that Liliana dress is in my spring sewing plans! I’ve had it since last year and I bought it on sale. It’s gorgeous! The dress you picked for that will be perfect. It’s so beautiful and feminine
@@Bloomsewing_studio my most recent video is of me sewing it and it did not turn out like I planned 😅 but it is beautiful! You’ll love it!
Beautiful dress. It looks really good on you.
@@tracyhuckaby5876 thank you Tracy! That’s kind ✨❤️
Love this! How would you say this pattern compares to the Willa Dress pattern? Opinions on one over the other? I am looking to purchase one of these patterns and am on the fence on which to get.
@@alaynabiltcliff468 hi! I don’t have the Willa pattern but I just looked into it- it’s stunning! The main differences I see is for the Willa, the main dress and sleeves are one piece (which is nice), and it has 3 Shirred rows instead of the 2 on the Liliana! It also looks like the Willa only has a short sleeve option!
@@alaynabiltcliff468 it’s also cool that the pattern maker has 4 different ways to use the Willa dress! ruclips.net/video/MvoP8WIxMpw/видео.htmlsi=dq0vRM7KQk_qQiH4
How do you remove the color? Also what fabrics can you do that to??
@@HappyWildFlowers I used Rit color remover, they sell it right next to the Rit dye at your local craft store! And the package will let you know what fabric you can use it on 👍🏼 I think natural fibers are easier, but I believe they have options for polyester/synthetic material
Beautiful dress 👗
@@valentinabeauty7865 thank you!! ✨
Beautiful dress! 👗 👗👗 As a sewist we appreciate the time, hard work and sometimes walking away and coming back to a garment (the break). Happy New Year's 2025 🎉🎉🎉
@@constancegarcia8053 thank you Constance! It’s always a journey making a new piece 😅
I love the dress! Id make the skirt a little fuller (maybe just taking the outside bottom corner further out) to flare a bit more over my tummy and hips, and for more swoosh! But I'm a sucker for swooshy skirts. I've never made a bodice of any sort, I'm too nervous to! Stays, yes, but sleeves? I dont know why they're so scary! Beautifully done ❤ and it looks so comfy!
@@haleyhoudini thank you! I agree about the skirt, I’d love it if it were more swishy, especially for running around in the hills! 😅 Sleeves are so weird. They definitely took me awhile to figure out when I first started but once you understand how they’re constructed, you’re off to the races!
@@Mindfulmae I'll try to remind myself of this when I finally build up the courage to do sleeves! Hehe
@ you can do it!!
Mindful Mae hits 6k! Yay!
I DO SAY YES TO ALTERATIONS!! 👋👋😁
LOVE your dress and a Beautiful dress for only $19. Woo hoo. Where do I find the pattern?
@@llb9063 thank you so much! I linked it in the description- I bought it from Mila Oni Patterns off Etsy!

@@catherineb6565 oh my gosh, yes!!! That would have been so good. I totally googled Laura Ingalls to try to find a similar photo to put side by side🙈
@Mindfulmae ❤
Your dress is magnificent 🥰. Thank you for sharing your hiccups. I learned to quilt years ago but sold my machine and learned to grow a garden from seed. I now want to get a machine again and start sewing my own clothes during the fall/winter when there isn’t as much to do. I’m trying to learn as much as I can right now in preparation and find your videos give me lots of inspiration 😊
@@kelleyleblanc5025 oh thank you! That’s so kind. I want to learn to grow a garden from seed someday- it’s one of my “after children goals”! 😆 Sewing in the colder months is so fun because you do get to hibernate a little bit 🤭 so cozy!
Your dress is so adorable. I love it 💖
@@lindatonkin3802 thank you! I’m happy with it!!
your dress turned out beautifully! is it really a sewing project if you don't hit at least a few bumps?? in case it's helpful, i've found that typically quilting cotton fabric is 40-45" wide while apparel-specific fabric is usually 50-60" wide. which is such a bummer since i struggle to find cute floral prints in apparel fabric. (but also why so many patterns call for 60" wide fabric). but I'm glad you were able to make it work :)
@@halliewilts THAT IS SO HELPFUL! And unfortunate haha! 😆 I love quilting cotton for the patterns too, but now I’ll be aware of the width differences! Thank you for sharing that info!!
Whew! That did not go as planned, but it ultimately turned out so beautifully! Would you make this dress?
I think it would take me a year to make with kids underfoot but dang I love it! Feels like it could be breastfeeding and pregnancy friendly which means it could last through many seasons of life which is so ideal for something you make with your hands 🥹
@@Thecasamagana my pregnant friend said she wants to make one!! It would be perfect!
This is lovely content. Thank you!
@@lizzye1952 that’s kind of you to take the time to say, thank you!

I love hearing that! It's wild how easy it is when we just do it! 😄
I just subscribed. You and I are going to get along just fine 😊 I love to thrift my fabric as well. I bought a bunch of jeans at a thrift store and broke them all down for the fabric for appliqué crafty things. I am also making my sister some new pajama pants and I’m crocheting myself a granny square sweater 😊 Isn’t winter the best? ❤
Oh my gosh, those projects sound amazing! Those are things I have never attempted before. You're my hero!

I love this video! So fun and engaging, beautiful pieces! I always have so much trouble trying to make trousers that don’t look like pjs 😅
@@Renee2224 haha! I continue to have that problem with trousers! I love gingham but it’s a common pajama pattern, so I might need to style the trousers differently? Dress them up? I don’t know 🙈
Congrats on the 5k 🎉 I love the sewing content; fabric hauls, plans videos, sew with me. I also love your Monday meal prep reels on insta, would love to see the full meal prep with break downs of the recipes etc ❤
I love that feedback, thank you! I hadn't thought of a longer form meal prep, but that's a good one! From the looks of your channel, you're vegan? My husband is vegan, so I cook plant based at home! 😄
I really like your sense of style, so I would enjoy round ups of your favorite sewing patterns/pattern makers because I know I’d discover cool ones from your recommendations. I also enjoy seeing the creative process of other makers, so maybe videos about how you gather inspiration, plan out your makes, or anything else you’d like to share about your approach to creativity. Overall I just love how genuine, resourceful, and sweet you are! It’s a refreshing contrast to all the consumption driven and vain content that’s out there. Thank you 🤍
That is so kind, thank you for taking the time to share this feedback and encouragement with me! I wrote it all down and will plan a video on my creativity process, though I feel like there isn't much of a "process" I just make what I like! 😄
So pleased you showed up on my recommended page, I love the idea of planning for the season 🥰 we’re peak summer right now in Australia so I’ve got a few summer projects in progress right now
I had another comment from an aussie! I'm jealous of the warmth there. I'm originally from CA, so i'm used to warmth year round. 😄 I would love to know what you're working on! Dresses, tank tops, blouses, skirts?
How do you have such a small stash of fabric? Lol
@@wendygilhula haha! My bigger pieces are stored elsewhere. The scrap pieces are mostly stored behind me in the bookshelf 😅
Day in the life, loved your sewing marathon video, healthy eating, thrift flips Love that you want to start knitting! I have been thinking the same but am not quite ready yet I believe so back to sewing!
@@graceslead2497 thank you so much for the feedback! I felt the same about knitting for awhile and now it feels like the right time! I signed up for classes! 🤭
I love the thrifting, sewing, and mending! Not sure if you've done any thrift flips, but I love that type of content too! And I feel the same about the natural fibres. I also really enjoy how it feels like you're being yourself in your videos and not putting on a persona.
Thank you for the feedback! I have done thrift flips and I love them! - here’s the playlist ruclips.net/p/PL0eUGlSKt812bHWd2bNofRwOl37NPAgqz&si=y-4OdRCa2Cum4Gh_ It’s tricky to “be yourself” but I try my best to be genuine and honest. It would be exhausting to do anything else ☺️
I’d love to see sewing content- from scratch and thrift flips or even clothes you have and want to modify. I’d also love mindful consumption content. I enjoy thrift hauls, but I’m trying to buy way less this year, so maybe they’re too tempting, hah. And I 100% hear you on the natural fibers! Excepting my workout clothes that definitely need to be sweat wicking, I’m finding acrylic and other synthetic fibers too itchy and uncomfortable as I get older (I’m in my 30s). I’ve taught my husband to recognize cashmere when thrifting for sweaters 😅
I am with you on thrift hauls being tempting! I love to thrift so much but I already have enough! 🙈 thank you SO MUCH for all of the thoughtful feedback. I wrote it all down 🙌🏼
I’m the same with the workout gear too! I don’t know how to get away from synthetic fibers when I workout 5x/week 😅
I’ll also add if there’s times you can make something you need or your home needs or to gift and you make it from materials you already have, that extra layer of resourcefulness mentioned in your videos is exciting and motivates me to work with what I (already) have, too. I’m a sewist with a toddler, so I’ve been collecting fabric more than I’ve been making it into things these past two years 🫠
@@allisonkemper5533that’s a good idea- using what you have instead of buying something new! I’ll note that down. Thank you!

If you want to get some very reasonably priced quality natural yarns, I highly recommend Knit Picks! Or to pick up something quicker, check your locally owned yarn shop, but theyll be more expensive :) I've found some lovely wool yarns that are sourced from foreign quality wool but dyed here in Idaho! Also, great starter cardigan knit patterns on ravelry are the Step by Step Cardigan by Florence Miller (she also has a step by step sweater) and the Darling Cardigan by Veronika Lindberg. Congrats! 🎉 Sidenote, I'd love to see more ASL in your videos ❤
