I just thought I would add something that keeps me motivated walking on a treadmill: increasing the incline. Start off with a boring 10 minutes at 0 or 1 incline. Then increase to 3 for 5 minutes, then go to 5 for 5 minutes, then back to 3 for 5 minutes, and finish off at a low pace on 1. Thats 30 minutes and it keeps it interesting. Also, use the hand rests at the side; it takes the pressure off your knees.

I for the first time in my life, left a job on the first day. It wasnt an easy thing to do. I felt so much guilt and shame bc I knew I had bills to pay but at the same time I wasnt willing to sacrifice my own happiness/peace anymorenfor the sake of having a job. God is good. Even though it took me months to find another job it still happened as I'm sure itll happen for you. Just got to keep hanging in there. For whatever reason, things always get worse before they get better. You've got this!

I'm so happy to hear! Just came across your videos recently and you're so relatable. Voices like yours really matter! I was laid off in March. I luckily have a PT job and have been working contracts since then, but I'm interviewing and applying fervently for something FT and that brings me closer to stable pay. I also agree about my ideas on money being challenged. I've learned that I spend too excessively when making more and have been wiser with buying as of late.

I relate so much, I grew up in a tiny town and then my family moved to an even more small and rural town. I was able to land a full ride scholarship to college and only there did I come to terms w my lesbianism and make Black friends. I was called a weirdo and an Oreo growing up, and it made me feel like no one like me had EVER existed. In college I learned that queer folks have existed for millennia, we existed in Africa before colonialism. I learned about how capitalism and cishet patriarchy informs everything about modern culture today. I’m really artsy and into fashion so people in this town see my style and think I’m insane, but I’m pulling from cultures and iconic artists I’ve researched.
