Starting early, definitely pay off! Seeing David must have been quite the experience! It was nice to see the footage without so many people. You could see how that changed. I enjoyed seeing the other pieces of art in the gallery. The artwork on the dome looks amazing! Beautiful views of the city! That archeological site looks like an incredible experience! Amazing history there! 😊

I grew up in Chula Vista and visited San Diego often. Unfortunately, San Diego is very expensive so I can only visit these days.
It really has gotten expensive. Definitely a fun place to visit. We'd love to see more next time

How long did it take to complete the entire hike (including stops for breaks, views, eating)?
It took us about 7 hours total to hike, eat, and spend time exploring the towns. I did hear that they recently reopened up the coastal walk between Manarola and Riomaggiore, so there is a shorter option available than going up and over. The whole hike really was amazing, I hope you get to experience it as well!

This brings back a lot of memories. We visited Joshua in March of 2016. We did hike Ryan Mountain, and I recall it being very windy and cold at the top. We also hiked to Lost Palms Canyon is the southern end of the park where there is an oasis with palms trees. That was the first time we did any desert hiking over sand dunes. It's quite different from the hiking we have here in the northeast. Great video!
Definitely! Having grown up in the northeast as well, it was really cool to experience something entirely different. Lots of trails left to explore there, we hope to head back someday

What time of the year did you hike the Cinque Terre?
We were there at the beginning of April, so it was still too chilly to swim, but seemed like it was way less crowded which was nice
Hallo, I'm glad you have appreciated Portovenere, a jewel little town with its castle and the Church of San Pietro. The view from the balcony over the Byron's Bay and Grotto is simply magical, in my opinion!

That gothic style church was so interesting looking and the views looking at the water were awesome! Always fantastic to get to see something on your bucket list. That's neat to learn that the leaning tower of Pisa is actually a whole complex of different buildings.
Right?! I don't know why but I think I had only seen pictures of the tower itself and had no idea that there is a whole complex to explore. Definitely worth the visit, especially since the stroll around the grounds is free. Now on to Florence and some hiking in Tuscany 🥾

I have hiked in Cinque Terre , I agree it is awesome. Unfortunately I think the popularity of the place is crowdung out the experience,but if you go at the right time it can still be magical.
I agree, it seems to be one of the busiest destinations in Italy now. We're so grateful we were able to experience it in the beginning of April with so few people compared to the summer months. What a beautiful place!
That is a crazy level hike. I have only seen Pichacho Peak from the trailhead.

And good news - I believe that the "Path of Love" between Manarola and Riomaggiore is now open again (we took the alternate route up and over). It looks like a beautiful option. Is the insta360 x4 your main vlog camera? How do you feel about editing g all the footage from the x4 for RUclips?
Hey LeCarro and Sharde! For Italy, since we were on the move a lot, we primarily used the GoPro Max 360 (though we are upgrading to the Insta360 X4). Originally, it felt a bit overwhelming, but now I've actually been enjoyed going through all the footage and being able to pull several clips from different angles. We usually use the 360 to capture any stuff while we are moving or speaking, and then film b-roll on our full frame cameras or iPhones
Did you walk everywhere or take the public transit? If walking how long did it take? What kind of footwear did you wear? We are going in November.
Hi April! We primarily walked most places, though we did take the train from the Milan airport to the central part of the city and that was a good experience and easy to navigate. We stayed right near Castello Sforzesco, so the Duomo was only 10 minutes away and the other places we visited were within a 30-minute walking radius. Also, with all those extra steps (averaged 20,000 a day I think) we indulged in extra gelato and pasta 😄 I would definitely recommend comfortable shoes. I hope you have a great time in November!
