I am not a farmer but I ask the question as to whether all of the technology really increases the yield, considering the cost of the equipment, maintenance and down time. Would easier to maintain, lower tech equipment provide a better yield curve?

Corn prices bottomed out here in the southeast this year. Chemical rep said that 20-25% of his customers are going out of this business. Scary times for farmers. And Deere is greedier and greedier. Sunsouth has bought all the Deere dealerships around here, so there is no competition for new equipment sales and parts n repair sales. But the government has no problem with what is basically a monopoly.
