Beautiful work Jeff! There is something in this art that takes me into another imaginery world.
This is a nice tutorial but it is incorrect to call this filigree, as this is scrollwork, not filigree. filigree is a type of wirework. very common misconception
Thank you 🙏
Good lesson. Ot sure why yellow and red as it is so hard to see and follow. Next time black marker would be helpful please…thanks
I had to look this up to see what it is. I do lots of abstract art and I often use these in my drawings. I had no idea that’s what they were called. Till my buddy was checking out my art and said. Nice filigree. I was like huh?
Excellent lecture. Thank you.
Thanks for the video
Thank you thank you thank you. The time has to be put IT!
really really loved the video! Thanks so much for sharing! ( but at 9:40 its very hard to see, where you place the s curve, that's a bit sad)
Love your “s” curve!
As a fantasy style & kingdom hearts style artist, I couldn't thank you enough! Much love, dude!
I've wanted to do this for so long, I'm turning 40 in a month and its made me really look back and grab some of those little dreams I think I have "all the time in the world" to do. We don't! It goes by so fast. Just do the d*mn thing!! thank you for sharing your skill
I didn't start tattooing until I was 41. Imagine being an apprentice in your 40s? Shit wasn't easy but I got through it. 10 years strong now
omg i’m reading your comment having just turned 39 and really wanting to finally try to learn this after all this time. fun to see your comment. Hope you’re still doing it if you want!
I love the internet. I typed in this exact topic on google & found just what I needed! Thanks for sharing! 🫶🏾
prolly one of the best tutorials i ahve seen
This was SO helpful. I can see the improvements in my work!!
🔥🔥🔥 video, love how there’s a real uniqueness to going about this, from the way people think about the process to how theirs comes out. Dope dope dope
This video was posted around the time I started learning hand engraving, and I watched it around that time. I found it very interesting and well presented. Since then, I have found that hand engravers have refined (or at least preserved) this artform and have developed very good instructional materials which I think would supplement this video very nicely. There are many tattoo artists using designs actually drawn by hand engravers, for/from engraving designs. This is an artform which I have come to appreciate immensely. Thank you for posting this video.
Jesus, please get someone to light that paper surface so I can see what he is doing. I can only see the red pencil in the shadow of his hand and that makes it really hard to study what he is doing.
Thank you so much. Useful sharing. 👍
Love you, closing “trick” made me So happy can’t wait to practice shoulder movements and make clean ass lines ❤️🔥
How you can draw with that paper crunching up is amazing lol. Very impressive haha
I wish I could see while you're drawing because your explanation is the best!
Cool, here a Tattoo Design: ruclips.net/video/IXsLEPCVHIU/видео.html
Loved this man ....this was awesome ....
Man, that was awesome. Thanks! 🥰 🥰 🥰
Profound!
U pussy
Get this bum ass shit tf outta here loser
It is very hard to see anything you are drawing. Great advice but I cannot see it.
Maquina!
maquina!
Got my tattoo license in 2001 and I found this great video very helpful.
So well done! . The sepal surround the peony bud. I just like to draw flowers. You are the first teacher talking about the anatomy of the flower and the age of the petals. Most floral instructors don't bother to use the correct leaves when doing demos. Excellent!
Scroll drawing has techniques and understanding the formula make you move further
Thank you sir for the solid advice!
how does a noob approach sketching geometric pattern work like sacred geometry, islamic geometry, mandalas etc? Drawing small? Ruler and compass, pc? How would one break down complex patterns like this?
2020
By far one of the best tutorials out there ! Thanks!
I know this has been out for a long time but maybe this will still get read. Metal engravers use a ton of filagree design in their work. I have always had a difficult time with this aspect of my design work. I'm 59years old. Only started 3years ago after my beautiful wife of 30 years died. I have bought and watched every available DVD out there and this lesson (for free no less ) had the ahh haa moment for me . For some reason it hit a chord and lm drawing like crazy now. Thanks. Keep up the great work. OPA'S ENGRAVING STUDIO.
There are endless amazing tutorials on RUclips my man. I'll list some for ya. Steven Zapata Alphonso dunn Marshall vandruff Dagget designs (Japanese tattoo tutorials) Proko Lethal Chris drawing Jazza (more entertainment that education) The broken puppet There's a guy making a full comic series called "dragon rage" and he streams it but he never shuts up about his wife (I can't take it) but it's amazing for watching the process of making a full comic product.
Fantastic peony art
More content like this why did you stop?
This is great! You are very good at teaching.
Yellow on white does not show up as well as another color. Similarly, the thin red pen lines are not clear in the video.
Yellow is very very hard to see.
Can you do one of these for roses
HOLY SMOKES!! I first watched this and was like,, ya right another tutorial where the dood shows ya how he can draw but you can't,,, blah blah blah.. O! ok, I'll just draw with my shoulder,, lame.... then i thought about it for a few minutes and though to myself..Don't be a dick, just try what he says...So i did...and my first few lines sucked ass as usual, AND THEN<< i just kept on doing it for some reason.. Just real simple shoulder movements and my lines started to smooth out and look kinda bitchen.. Then i was like, holy $Hi! this is actually kind of working>? then i went back and added some random little details on the long smooth strokes.. And Bro.. I swear to god, it was the best drawing I have ever done in my life,, no copying you or measuring. or trying to render out someone else's work,,,just raw organic original art that came from my shoulder and eye...and my own brain for once !! I wish like hell i could show you what happened with just 10 minutes of me not being a dickhead and doing what you said,, LOL
Love how you explain your process, but it's very difficult to visualise that when I can't see what you're drawing.
You're a genius, thanks for sharing the valuable information and and experience. It means a lot to me.
Thank you for your wonderful work.
Man ok for the shoulder if you draw giant size! Otherwise just fingers might do
