Another great story that you shared. Thanks.
The way she walks with her hands up in the air 😂
Only two real Les Pauls.. Gibson and Epiphone period end of story tokai is nothing more than a copy
Do you get a little tender seeing Billy Gibbons or Joe Walsh ripping a tasty lick on their Tokai Love Rocks?
@MMGUITARBAR only real Les Pauls are Epiphone and Gibson.. your wasting breath pal
Damn right u going to screw it. No big deal.
Really nice breakdown of the Japanese modells
Ben is all of these things, and a super nice guy, to boot! Big love, Ben!
Fantastic. The guitar looks really ugly at the end.
I just discovered you. You are doing a good job, keep on and keep adding content regularly. Especially the vintage guitar theme for us Collectors.
Bar House rules!
the best
Ben is the best! Miss Verellen amps for sure!
Heritage is warmest, Hybrid is brightest (almost sharp at times), Traditional is right in the middle...
OH YES!!!!! next guitar I need should be beat up like that for sure. also the vibe at the guitar bar is 25% why I bought a guitar there ( the other 75% was the awesome guitar)
Ben has the most indelible tone. Bass, guitar, and voice.
Dude builds his own amps so makes sense. He’s a scientist of sound 🤓
i JUST GOT MY st 62 - 65 LAST WEEK. WHAT A GUITAR.
Very informative! Do you have any info on the 6 numbered serial numbers from the mid-80’s “E” series Boxer Jazz Bass Specials? Thanks!
Thanks for the great video alternate reality Josh Homme
Much appreciated
The only amp I truly regret selling is a June ''61 6G6 Bassman - Tube Rectifier - ToneRing cab with original speaker. It was purchased from the original owner in all original condition. I traded it for a Dreadnought from a boutique builder, as I was playing way more acoustic at the time. I currently own an early '64 6G6-B "Tuxedo" Bassman. Great amp, but I just don't connect with it the way I did with the 6G6.
A little correction though, Fender Pure Vintage tuners are also made in Japan by Gotoh.
I bought an electric XII recently, and it is the best 12 string guitar, thanks for the info, cheers from Argentina.
Unbranded tuner? No. They use gotoh tuner.
I have a 1963 Jazzmaster that is in terrible shape. It was my father's that he bought back in 64 and I'd love to have it back to beautiful condition. Is there any help you could give me Or some suggestions on who could do this for me. Thank you in advance.
While the statement that Fender shifted from Alnico speakers to ceramic magnet speakers beginning in 1962 is "mostly" correct, I have a 1979 Vibro Champ that I bought new that has an Oxford alnico speaker. Speaker code 4657909. I don't know if this was a one-off where they found an alnico in the warehouse or got a good deal on a batch of them. Not a very good speaker.
I’m looking at a 1984 Japanese strat with the s1 tremolo system what kind of pickups would be in that guitar? Would you say they’re any good? Overall thought on this guitar?
I almost purchased a sano amp it was 20 watts 6v6 piwer tubes but the pre amp tubes were going to hard and expensive to get now days so i passed now i kick myself the amp was like new !!
Would liked to have seen it done in white.
Great show that pro amp looks like new unbelievable thanks !
Great history love old guitars and old dudes I would watch the country music shows with my dad on the week ends and seeing Larry Collins I had to have a guitar and at 71 I'm still picking great show thanks !!
Opinions wanted: I’ve been considering a Fender Troy Van Leewin jazzmaster. Which would you choose between that or a Heritage Jazzmaster?
Most of your pronunciation of Japanese is fine, but FujiGen is not pronounced as "GENeration" it is pronounced as "GE" as in in "GET". For it to be pronounced the way you are saying it, it would be spelled "FujiJEN", which it isnt.
Definitely has that Joker vibe, WoW!!!
I actually contacted the factory direct because I could not find Gibson type Tokai's anywhere except Ebay. The head of operations, I think, may have even been the president/owner, politely emailed me back, saying they could not export any Gibson type headstock models to me in USA. I have been able to snag a couple 2000's models through 2nd party Asian vendors and the Love Rock is fantastic. The SG is nice too. Now I'm willing to jump into the old reborns.
Gorgeous, the craftsmanship is just off the charts, Bravo!!!!!!
You're not gonna hurt my feelings if you call it by it's correct name...."Brownface".
We need more content from this great channel...
Those black and white photos of the Blackboard( the outside shots with motorcycles) are from Bill Ray's book, "Hells Angels of San Berdoo '65". Ray documented the Angels' trip up to Bakersfield and the Blackboard was the home base for the weekend. The book also has a few shots from inside the Blackboard
Love Mustang basses! Have a CIJ that I love with LaBella flats!
I remember the garage. Such a fun part of your journey.
Beautiful job love the double finish that sunburst was messed up
Sehr interessant. Das wusste ich bisher nicht. Danke.
Lame !
Hell Yeah!!! I'll take a dozen of them!!!! 😂😂😂 🎸🎸🎸🎸
Tell y’all what, I grew up in Bakersfield and remember goin into Parliers in 66’ - this was after they moved the store from near this ole” flophouse near the SP depot to “uptown” Baker street - i remember the Parlier badge on all the fender guitar cases and amps - but little did we know know in 66’ that 50 years later, Fender would re-make everything from that era - now Moserite, we all go dumpster divin at his factory and would cobble up enough parts for two guitars and 3 peddle steels When I turned 21, we went to the Black Board - the lucky spot was out near FootHillbilly high that I went to - first time I played a Strat, was Jelly Sanders’s Strat his son let me play - Jelly played with many of the Honky Tonkers at the time -
I have a 1997 Crafted in Japan Ritchie Blackmore model, but I understand there was 2 variations, an export model that used basswood and a domestic model that used alder. is there a way to know whether or not the guitar is an export model or domestic? could that info be found in the neck pocket perhaps? Awesome video
I have MIJ Jazz Bass with J+6digit(1989-1990 Fujigen prod) serial. But its "Fender Custom Made" logo has 4 digit instead of "EXTRAD" wording. Wondering what that means or if there's a way to trace it as well.
End result looks fantastic, great relic job. I think the original owner may have been trying to get the “‘34 burst” look that Gibson did on some archtops, lot of black border with just a bit of natural wood in the center
is there a clear coat on this ?
That is awesome.. perfect green. I hate green guitars.. but that i perfect
