GMC Canyon 2.8 diesel starter removal
Removing a transmission from a 2017 GMC canyon with the 2.8 diesel engine, I was having trouble figuring out how to gain access to the torque converter bolts and found absolutely no information on how to gain access. Several articles I had read stated the engine mount needs to be removed which I spent many hours wrestling with. I ended up trying removing some fasteners and seeing if I could move any of the hardware out-of-the-way and ended up getting out the starter. I made this video to share the information with anyone else who ran into this issue. Thanks for watching!

If you're rebuilding your transmission I can show you what went wrong with yours. Most failures are not the converter but the line pressure valve. Just replacing the converter is a band aid to the real problem in the main pressure valve. Cheap aluminum valve wears out.

@@NaterTator11 oh okay I'm guessing this is not a fresh build 427 that you just did? I got a notification for this video today and the video kind of it it kind of appeared like an Instagram video so it didn't seem like a typical RUclips video so I thought it was something newer.

@@NaterTator11 and I got one I actually have three Mustangs now but I bought one right out of high school as well when I came from Korea that one got hit in the rear in 2015 so I ended up finding a twin in Charlotte and bought it so that's the one that's getting the 351 well likely a 427 soon maybe next year

Specs on the engine? I have a stock longblock and I’m looking to achieve similar performance with the On3 kit.
I think that should be fairly achievable, I had several different set ups on that car at the time, I think this was my stock motor with an e cam and professional products intake. 372whp 436tq. I ended up eventually upgrading to a TRE performance 306 with victor Jr heads. I ran a f303 cam and 76mm ball bearing turbo. The car made 436/529 wheel at 11 and 522/604 at 16psi
@@NaterTator11 I’d like to make around 450-475 rwhp on a 100% stock longblock. I don’t need it to last, I only need it to make one or more 10.99 or faster passes down the 1/4 before it dies. My goal is to break into the 10s with the stock longblock and T-5 if I can.
@@GyroPyro121212 you’ll need some good head gaskets and luck on your side. As for the t-5 I made one single street hit with 436/529 and the trans exploded. No prep. I think they are good to 300ft lbs at the crank. Will definitely be your weak link

Nicholas Demakos Edelbrock super victor and the cam is a custom grind from comp. Sent them my engine specs and told him I was going turbo so they made me a new grind.

Manny Lopez If you’re looking for a turbo kit the one in this video is available! If you check my other videos I built a new motor for it, the turbo kit wasn’t big enough.
@@NaterTator11 thats a first lmaooo, a 76 mm turbo not big enough for the engine!!!
Manny Lopez turbo is maxed out around 850 horse power. The headers for the on3 kit aren’t big enough and cover 1/2 the ports on the AFR renegade heads I put on the new motor. That motor is capable of around 1200 hp at the crank

I have built 331ci stock block with scat crank 72cc chamber Afr205 heads f303 cam 1.7 roller rockers its a hydrolic roller rocker roller cam street build with forged H beam rods and forged dished 8.3/1 compression pistons set up for twin turbo backed by a tko 600 and a 373 rear posi (8.8) of course mines not finnished yet still outa the car hasnt been fired up since being built but it will be in my 94 soon enough running strong im sure. Your sn95 looks great by the way nice build. 👍😉

Awesome. 16 psi boost in a stock block flirten with disaster no? I was hoping 10psi will be conservative enough to help the stock HO block last. That and limited advance in the timming and high octane fuel (94 minamum) when you ran 16psi what fuel were you burning? And if i may ask how many seasons has she lasted pushing that much boost? All the chevy and dodge guys (basically everyone else in my town) keep trying to freak me out about the stock block splitting in half first time i lean on it so sorry for all the questions. I just really want to avoide that happeneing untill I can upgrade to a Dart shp. I am hopeing for 4

I also have a high quality main cap girdle and will be running a crank trigger, with a maga squirt 2 brain for it ,no ac no smog pumps no cats , 45 lb injectors, no egr, victor jr intake. I am keeping power steering and power breaks.
