Dennis Linde - Ghost Riders In The Sky
The original Frayser Flash! I have still have the lp but no way to play it
Synths reminiscent of Beach Boys Holland
I miss the 80s it was a blast
Still sounds wonderful. Has stood the test of time (50 years or so) often equating to greatness... Perhaps. Give it/this "another" 1/2 century - then - we'll see, again. metaltomotown
Brilliant!
Our childhood was a lie haha
Best version by far.
Wow, the ending is absolutely crazy
Thanks
Nice!
kben de enige in Nederlanddiedat album heeft, gekocht in deFerdinand Bol.. kwilde het op you tube zetten maar dat is illegaal. youtube heeft de abpndere tracks wel hoor, it's only strategies.🐄
This was in heavy rotation on my college radio station when it came out. This song especially has an early Elvis Costello/Joe Jackson vibe. Great power pop song.
Great song. It’s funny, I had it back to back with an Elvis Costello song on a mixtape.
Fuckin powerpop bomb!
What a gem!
One of my fave albums, such pure honest energy. Wish he'd made a lot more of 'em
The Bangles do the best version in my opinion.
It is just another tragedy that Jules was never bigger than he deserved. This album is a gem...lost to time. Thanks for the upload. If only society "knew what they want".
He put his heart and soul into it.
A haunting ghostly and most fantastic song from an artist very few knew but an amazing voice and talent. Sadly he died with kids or family or fanfare and few if any at his funeral. So tragic. :(
I am a carpenter & have been for 52 years......she left anyhow.......
I had a cassette of this album. Played the hell outta it. I found it in the bargain bin in the mid-80's in a now long gone music store in Estevan.
Now the riders are coming from the sky the ET are here ADAM will love EVE. Love for all sorts of beings GOD is waiting.
Shear was crazy for this girl... and me, crazy for his song : just logical !
Man, this brings back some great musical memories!!!!!
My friend had this on 8-track. I've been looking forever for it because all I could remember was this song and the cover. I thought it might be Moon Martin or Warren Zevon. Thank goodness I discovered discogs. I found it in no time. I did a little research on the man; he auditioned for the Rolling Stones to replace Mick Taylor. After hearing these licks, which I probably didn't appreciate at the time, I now know why!
The Stones thought he was too young for them.
Did Linde not write "Burning Love" for Elvis?
"Burning Love" is a 1972 song by Elvis Presley written by Dennis Linde, originally released by Arthur Alexander earlier in 1972. Presley found major success with the song, it becoming his final Top 10 hit in the American Hot 100 or pop charts. Elvis Presley version.
That is some shitty production ruining a good song.
I realize I’m a little late to this party but one of my favorite albums is “Walking A Changing Line (The Songs Of Jules Shear)” it just shows the brilliance of this man’s writing.
Looked for YEARS for this awesome tune from my senior year of HS.
The difference between this version and the much better known version by the Bangles is very telling. The change from first person to third person narrator exposes a lot about the male/female dynamic. Especially now, since the imminent illegalization of abortion brings further burdens onto women. They have always had more to lose in a committed relationship. Even more, now.

I love this song, & the album is well worth hearing. It was originally on Sire (1976), & did get a CD release from Real Gone Music (2015).
Gives me goosebumps it’s so amazing
I'm a rock music guy but I think I like this version better than by the Georgia Satellites. Love the violins.
That's still a GREAT album!
Prevod
Gutfeld!
the love of greatness
They just played this song as a segment intro on the TV show The Five on Fox News. I almost fell out of my chair.
thats how i found it. never heard it before but it immediately caught my ear. shazam'd it lol
@@zh2574 song from my teen years in the late 70's. Prompted me to find a friend I haven't spoken to in almost 40 years
I had two albums. Close Personal friend and The Memphis demos . I am in England he he was very popular for a while . I tried to get it on spotify but cannot find . Jimmy Deans back is an exceptional track and I cant get it anywhere.
Tight percussion and unique bass playing
In my Bangles playlist with his demo (which sounds better, IMHO) and their cover. Thanks for the upload!
???????
Que música maravilhosa i'love you
Great song! Dog bark at 1:38?
🤘🦅📵💸💯
Interesting. Why are his vocals so muffled?
