Bell's palsy
Bell's palsy is a medical condition characterized by dysfunction of the peripheral cranial nerve VII (facial nerve). Its cause is unknown, but it is thought to be related to inflammation at the geniculate ganglion, possibly associated with herpes simplex virus.
Clinical Features
Bell's palsy presents with an acute onset of unilateral facial paralysis, typically developing over a period of hours.
