Making an Animatronic that Plays Games
The Copper Golem didn't win the mob vote, but it won my heart. I was a bit sad when it didn't get implemented into the Minecraft Wild Update. That's why I used electronics, 3D printing and coding to make a robotic real life version of it.
Bringing 3D Prints to Life! - Zoetrope
In this video you can see my progress in making my own 3d Zoetrope. If you like it, I'd appreciate you to let me know by liking, commenting & subscribing. Have a good day! A zoetrope is a device that creates an illusion of movement. In this case it is a disk with figurines on it that spins. While spun, a stroboscope only makes the figures visible when they are at the right spot, making it look ...
Making a Film Projector from Scratch
In this video I try to use CAD and Animation Software to build a small film projector and to print a small film for it. Music I used: Quirky Dog by Kevin MacLeod Link: incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4259-quirky-dog License: filmmusic.io/standard-license
What film gauge is this?
I didn't use a typical film gauge or format for this. The images on the film are 10x10mm, the width of the film strip is about 20mm and the distance between the images is 5mm.
What did you know a reflective surface? Is it important to be thin, because you can see it on both sides of the glass?
I used regular transparent sheets that can also be used in inkjet printers (Overheadfolie A4). And you are right - thicker materials, like Jewelcase plastic doubles the reflection
This is so cool! Love the animation too.
Thank you so much Alister!
Neat
excellent explanation and good video , you my friend have a great potential , keep uploading
Damn, thanks for the nice feedback! Will definitely keep going!
3:40
Good video. I like zoetropes, 3D or otherwise.
Nicely done!
The shafts should have been painted the same colour white as the disk, because in orange they are visually distracting.
how did you make the film?
Can you try this on an anolgue pocket if you have one?
Hello! I loved your video. My question: what material did you use to print the images? or how do you make it possible to project it?
Hey, thank you! I just used regular transparency film sheets that were used for overhead projectors. Those are usually printable in normal inkjet or laser printers and you can buy them in a pack of 100 or so. They're not as high quality as actual projector film of course, but for projects like these it works fine
Cool, but if you paint the bottom of the cube as the same as the plate, it would look better. Just saying!!
Amazing job. I've seen other projects online as well. I was thinkimg, maybe you could achieve the perfects stroboscope at any speed, if you could create little connectors at the centre of each figure, so when it rotates light can hit always at the perfect timing at whatever speed. Best regards from Portugal
Thank you! That's a really nice idea & with that method you could even place the figurines with variable distances to each other to create cool dynamic effects... thanks for the input!
The ultimate gameboy camera
You're so underrated 😮
:0
when I was a kid like you, drawing flip book in book
This is kinda underwhelming tbh
I can't belive how you don't have more subs! You put in a lot of effort in this video, hope you become a big YT-er some day!
Wow, thank you so much!
Neatly ^^
62nd fr and underrated
A slit would still help sell the illusion so you're not always seeing all of the other frames all the time. Add a column in the middle of the rotating platform to block the back portion as well.
GEOMETRY DASH
GEOMEY DAS REFERENCE
You can make a hologram if you dont know Cut 4 glass into the side face of the regular quadrilateral pyramid and glue them together (cut a lil bit of the top so that it can stand upside down). Then get a big screen and search for some hologram video and play it then place the upside down to bottom top cutted regular quadrilateral pyramid made from glass and uhh idk place it somehow for it that it create a hologram when look from the side? Well sorry for bad grammar cuz im from vietnam
I think if you painted the cubes and painted the supports black it would be easier to see the action.

3:30 the camera freaking out isn’t because of the app, it’s actually not freaking out at all. The issue is any camera you get, unless specifically made and labeled otherwise, uses rolling shutter to take picture or record video. it doesn’t take an instant snap, but records each frame scrolling from top to bottom. usually not something you’re able to notice, but for things like flashing that changes in the middle of each frame being recorded, it mucks it up pretty bad. to avoid this, you have to get a camera with global shutter, they’re typically much bigger and more expensive
Thanks for the clear explanation! Makes a lot more sense
Omg, when will this blow up? Was waching this video and just out of interest wanted to know how many views it had. No joke was expecting like 2-3mil views and like 700k subs. The quality is superb.
Thank you so much, this just made my day!
Where was the seizure warning??? 😂
Thanks for the 3D Printing tip for less stringing. 👍😎
Copperind: “what is my purpose?” Mattimotion: “you press buttons.” Copperind: 1:36
I love the part where you said its geometry dashin time and geometry dashed all over the place 👌
This is really cool!
We do not want our cube to wish to be free again
2:24 You can also use same thing you did to 2d images. Also a few months ago in Gemini Center in Bielsko Biała in Poland was that thing with somewho running and jumping the obstacles and a flying parrot.
Wow! Love the dedication to the craft and the limited budget approach... 😎👍🏼 Instant sub here
bro please come back we miss you
pls upload more!!
Dude called this low budget while buying a setting up a 3d printer is like 400$ 💀
Nah really not with this budget you have at least 2
When are you coming back? It’s been a year no pressure but we miss you
Great video! Small suggestion though: you should add "Flashing Lights" disclaimers (like at 2:20) for people that may affect! I guess the entire video probably deserves a warning ha
Wow!?!
You *could* do it with slits, too, right? That would seem to eliminate 90% of the problems with motors and lights.
You could probably do that, but that likely would restrict your view and wouldn't allow you to look at it like a 3d object
@@blustiks3191 Ah, OK. That's a good point. Takes much of the fun out of it if you can't see the front and back.
It wouldn't be 3D anymore
Then it wouldn't look 3D.
@@MiScusi69 It still would be 3D but you have a restricted view. Loses a bit of the magic.
The Ghibli museum in Japan has a fantastic one that is highly detailed and intricate. One of the "tricks" is actually to place the models farther apart, so the viewer doesn't get distracted with seeing so many of the same models moving around. You really only need the animation at around 10 to 15 fps to see the nice effects.
Thanks for the tip! The Ghibli one is really gorgeous
increasing shutter speed of your camera would fix the freaking out of the cameras. this would make the images darker though so what you could do is have it record a new video every time it rotate 360 degrees and then multiply the color values of each looped frame together to have a brighter image. you could also keep the dark video and just make it brighter(this method looses color and color depth.
Thanks for the suggestions. I think if I make another one someday, I would implement a way to control the rotation speed, so it can be adjusted to any camera framerate. Might make recording easier
Everyone who enjoyed this should look up George Pal and Puppetoons. I like this video and your sense of humor. Thanks.
Could you use a window that allows the viewer to only see 1 image at a time and set it to spin roughly 24 cubes past the window each second so it looks like a video? Might need to make more cubes, but could be a cool effect.
That might add a nice effect! I've got the feeling I have to make another one someday haha
