“Our City, Ithaca” (Concept Teaser)
I’m making a documentary! “Our City, Ithaca” might be one of my biggest projects yet. This is just a small taste of what it MIGHT be like. Only a small portion of this teaser was just filmed today. The rest, older clips. I hope this will become a big thing for me and my journey to make what I want to make. I’m excited to see how this goes…

Sounds cool !!! Keep up the nice work !!!!
wow wonderful
25年前に同じパフォーマンスを見ました。 もう80歳近いのにすごすぎる・・・
The great Chuck Dallenbach!
And that’s what I call : d..n good brass band ! Good job men , thank you 😊
These are American style Baritones, there are European and British style Baritones too. In the US it seems like the Euphonium is more popular on a HS level. Baritone and Euphonium are different instruments. In my Highschool they played a split section of 4 Euphoniums and 4 Baritone Horns with different parts
Que dolor que se caiga la boquilla o que se le resbale la tuba
The "guess I'll die" ending was a good punchline lol
bravo
I wanted a tuba so bad since graduating in May 2019 😭 I love that instrument.
I’m buying this horn and I wanted to get a look at what I was getting before hand :) thank you.
It’s definitely a good starter horn. I will say, later down the line (3 years or so) you might want to switch to a more professional horn. But it can be a good starter.
In my middle school years currently playing tuba u inspire me as I play the instrument ❤❤
How has this horn held up for you in the year since you posted this video?
That’s a great question and I’m glad someone asked! I’ll say this, it definitely still plays well but it’s showing some play wear. Despite constant cleaning and polishing, it’s a bit tarnished and some plating has worn off. Another thing, it may just be me, but the intonation in the higher register isn’t what it used to be. Until I can buy myself a substantial CC tuba, this is what I got. I still use it quite a lot but I have found myself using my old Yamaha 103 a bit more. It’s been holding up though.
Very well played and great soun my friend! Keep the covers coming!!🎸
Proud of you always, Zak. Your dedication across several instruments is truly inspiring. If this is you at freshly-sixteen, there’s no telling the limits of your musical prowess in years to come. Go get ‘em!
Тубист просто супер 👍👍👍один остался из старых ,помню старые их записи
Sounding great, and keep working at it! Also, nice tenor (I've got one like it too)!
Nice sound. I'm considering the purchase of an Old O-99 to complement my Conn 20J.
The Olds horns aren’t relatively easy to find nowadays. I really wish they would keep making em. I have an idea for an upcoming future project that will require the body of an Olds so I’m constantly on the lookout.
@@zakkasian Soon after I posted my other comment, I bought the instrument I was considering for $700, including a soft case. I'm very happy with it--I find the sound is quite powerful, although it helps that the bell is pointing upward instead of away from me. It's considerably lighter than the Conn 20J, and I like the forward-facing valves. The "false" low C is weaker on the Olds, but at least the D is very strong. I've never been able to get any of the true pedal tones on either tuba. I was originally thinking of getting an instrument having four valves, but I realize this wouldn't really have been of any help if I can't get even the Bb pedal tone--and would simply cost a lot more money to purchase. My Olds horn is quite tarnished, but I don't particularly care about cosmetics issues. I hope you have success in finding one. The dealer who sold this one didn't have others--he only had an Eb sousaphone (which he said were uncommon) that he plans to restore, along with some smaller brass instruments.
Up na banda! Toca mto 👏👏👏👏
hey nice how long did the shipping take?
A couple weeks or so. Wasn’t to excruciatingly long (sorry for the late response).
When did this get so many views
And stil this mf sounds good
Hi Zak! If you don’t remember me, I was the horn player at Ithaca College Summer Music Academy of 2022. (The really tall one) I just recently stumbled across your channel. So I figured I would leave a comment.
Nice to hear from you again!
I’m pretty sure that’s actually the 3/4, which is really more of a 186 sized 4/4, but that’s Rudy for you.
I think you’re right.
Does well for pushing 80
🙂
Excellent !!
😊
The Marines ought to have Chuck do a guest appearance with their Silent Drill Platoon and have him do his tuba antics in place of the Platoon's normal rifle inspection demonstration. The Marine Band could play 'back up'.
Took my new bf to the Astoria Tuba Concert in Ilwauco, Wa. On one of our first dates! We are still together after 7 years! Love this stuff, thanx
It has a lovely tone.
Awesome. Thanks.
Man, I thought the 360 was impressive when I saw him do it 25 years ago!
Chuck has these tubes with a black bell and green bell from which brands and is it a full metal tube or is the bell made separately from another material?
Chuck had many tubas custom fitted with a black carbon fiber bell, made by George McCracken. The horn in this video is likely some sort of Conn CC tuba. (Edit: I had a brief conversation with Chuck concerning the tuba he uses. He told me it consists of a lot of Conn parts. I’ll have to figure out more the next time I see him.) Chuck also put his custom bells on Getzen tubas. Back when they were produced, the company even offered the carbon bells to be available. I would someday like to find a carbon bell to fit on one of my horns.
@@zakkasian Chuck play on tubas in Bb or C ? The sound of the trombone is very cool soft and sounds like a French horn very neat and soft and who played the trombone in these videos and what brand of trombone does he have? early videos in the canadian ensemble the tuba player had an all-metal tuba. This is apparently also Conn in C ? ruclips.net/video/_OO7sityUwE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/mgMn68Rgva0/видео.html ruclips.net/video/Qvc4955x_W8/видео.html
@@Dima-Composer. Chuck plays almost exclusively CC tubas. The instrument you inquired in those links are Yamaha YCB-621 Tubas. It’s been his main horn for a while. The Trombone player in these videos is Achilles Liarmakopoulos. He’s a real nice guy! He uses Bach and Conn Tenor trombones. Here’s a good video of what he can do: ruclips.net/video/zek5-C0ajWk/видео.html
@@zakkasian Yes, he's a great trombonist. I have a saxophone Yamaha yts 25. Yamahas are good and soft in sound, isn't it .. And the horn player apparently also plays the horn on the Yamaha in these videos that I sent you via the links? The horn player plays well with a soft sound along with a trombone. 👍👍 trumpeters play very masterfully on these videos, I liked the trumpeter very masterfully plays (the one with a beard). It seems they have Bach trumpets.?!
@@Dima-Composer. I’m not 100% sure what the others play. But I agree, best quintet in the world!
This was such FUN!!! 📯🎺🎷🥰💜
Now that is entertainment !
Hello. On What brands Tubas you play?
Chuck plays many brands of tuba; Yamaha, Conn, Getzen, York, Schilke, Miraphone, and a couple custom horns as well.
I love the LaBella strings that I put on my 1968 telecaster bass and on my 1973 telecaster bass. I love the tension of the through body installation. Deep talkin flats 760FS-TB 45/105.
The asinine laughter and audience noise detracts from the performance.
There’s more videos from this show I have with out all the laughter
Filming and yelling is spoiling everything
I have a few more CB videos without so much screaming
This is the absolute pinnacle of musicianship. Unbelievable synchronicity.
I love brass players, any piece is Tempo Rubato

Tolle Show aber leider wird das Ganze durch das doofe Lachen gestört. Schade
