Fenrir Festival 2023 at Kentucky Highland!
Attended the Viking festivities at Kentucky Renaissance Fair in Eminence, KY on Saturday, Nov 4, 2023. For once the temps were pristine to spend hours in my Odin ensemble! Met some incredible folks in some authentic garb and got lost in the part with a lot of them. Stopped at Mikaela's Inn for grub and to hear Pictus perform.
Let me preface this by saying the reason why I recorded this particular part of the performance: Their frontman (? They all seemed to put in equal shares) said he would tell the tale behind Amon Amarth's "Twilight Of The Thunder God" in Amon's native Swedish tongue. For me, that small bit hit more like a wind-up to something, so I got my phone out and, well, intuition...

This is great. Every actor did wonderful.
This is pretty good just a few minor things like pony is a bit old and some of the socs outfits just aren’t really socish but overall it’s pretty good
The slap was very underwhelming but this was still good!
The acting for the most part is great but the clothing choices, music choices, and sets are very questionably anachronistic

Unpopular opinion- this is actually decent. Pony acted pretty well, the characters were likable, and the narrative is still solid. Plus, this gives me early 2010 vibes, so there you go.

I love Green Day’s 21 Guns and I enjoyed the modernized version of the Outsiders. The song kinda fits because it’s about depression and being bullied. And the Socs are bullies towards Ponyboy and Johnny.
