There is also the solfeggio memory i use it a lot because my visual memory is not so good... Many artists use solgeggio memory.. an example is Jonathan Fournel, winner of queen Elisabeth competition
Fabulous idea!
Glad you like it!
Very excited to try this method. Thank you!
Give it a shot!
Lovely! Thank you!
Our pleasure!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you! Thank you!
Welcome!
I"m stuck on that section because of the fingering... I can't figure out something that is comfortable
Send me your email and I can share my fingering with you.
My primary issue is this: I can play a piece or section of a piece a little below tempo with no mistakes but cannot maintain accuracy at full tempo. Will your program show me how to accurately reach tempo? Example: I am working on the Rach 3 first mvt. Sections at actual tempo leave me frustrated as my fingers stumble a lot. Thank you.
I hear you! Wow, you are working on truly exciting piece. I'd love to hear more about your former and current training, and see if I can help you to navigate these issues. Feel free to book a call with me: calendly.com/sashatsirkel/introductory-call?month=2024-07
No matter if you play piano or violin, viola, cello. I think it's the same. I will never forget a masterclass with Stephane Gheorghiu a famous roumanian violinteacher who said to me: les gammes c'est la base de la technique, that means the scales are the base of the technique. And still now in my progessed age even when I only practise for an hour or two it's scales. Heifetz the god of the violin first thing he demanded from his students was scales in all keys four octaves. And he himself when he had a concert and not much time before the performance practised scales. I practise them every day normally one key per day four octaves and not only major and minor key. Augmented scale, harmonic minor, chromatic, gipsy scale in major and minor key, octatone and all seven modes and altered modes and of course arpeggios. And I regret that I didn't do this enough in my youth, I think I would have been much more successfull if I would have done it earlier. That's why I write all this here. To inspire young musicians and students that they won't regret not to have practiced enough scales when they were young as I do. And of course you can add still pentatonic and bebop and bluesscale, which is tricky. (I'm a little bit too lazy for that🤔) And always with metronome two notes per beat, triplets and finally four notes per beat with various bowings and fingerings (That's of course specific stringinstrument)That takes a time but it keeps you in shape and the brain flexible. I only can recommend to any student no matter which level: practice scales is like brushing teeth. Thank you for this video.
You are a great story teller. Thank you.
Thank you so much! And thanks for watching :)
nicely played, i played this before
Thank you!
You make piano fun. I should say, you make piano “more fun”. Thank you. I sure do enjoy your videos. Please keep them coming.
Wonderful advice. You have so much knowledge regarding piano practice. Thank you. You are amazing.

Such golden information. Thank you. 🥰
Thank you for watching!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💗🌷🌷🌷
Thank you, Renata!
Bravo, from a spanish pianist is a autentic privilege to have pianist playing this wonderfull works in the world
Thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot to me to hear such appreciation for the music I was playing. I'm glad you enjoyed the performance!
Very impressive Alexanda
thank you!!
But Richter was a genius. He also said that he'd never practised scales in his life. Perhaps we should take that advice, too.
Саш, нк ты здесь просто заезда мировая!!! Очаровательна !!!!
i'm a little confused with the last part. you say 15 slower repetitions and one concert tempo attempt, being 16 total reptitions, but then you explain the 15 reptitions as being slow, medium, and fast, and then again 5 times slow. so am i doing 21 repetitions, or did you mean to say 5 times for slow and medium, 1 time fast (the concert attempt), and then 5 times slow again?
Try this formula 5 times slow, 5 times medium, 1 time in concert tempo, then 5 times slow again.
Very beautifull. Subtile and with feeling. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your kind comment!
I'm in awe of your skill level. 99% of the population would just not understand. You should be so better rewarded and thanks for sharing it.
Thank you!
She's so talented and she has the most beautiful eyes in the world ❤
Thanks :)
add a mike in the sounding board, buffer the ceiling bounce. You make the adagio sing! Rodney
Sasha, you play wonderful!!!! I can listen to it forever!!!!!
Lovely!!
Thank you!
One thing that isnt mentioned is mental playback. That means visulization and from an auditory standpoint. Inner hearing without the aid of an external stimulus.
What about the pianists who improvise where one plays spontameouly and rarely do they think about fingering patterns. The ear plays a predominant role on that process. To repeat what is in score numerous times is not enough as the ear must be engaged and the very intention of endeavoring to memorize. Yes analysis and theory help. We have all kinds of techniques including memorization away from the keyboard. 🎉❤😂
Note the key of E minor and sing the line with letters, numbers, solfegge and walk away from the piano and sing the melody without playing on the keyboard. Then return to keyboard play and sing simultaneously. Hum the melody and note the harmonic changes in LH. Improvise in the key of E minor. Know what are the basic harmonic changes and improvise over those harmonies using same harmonic rhythm and bass line.
Wonderful suggestions!!
Start at the end of the piece and work backwards.
Yes, great idea! Using it with student and my own practice a lot :)
Exactly what I do. Also do both increase the tempo but also jump up the tempo rapidly and go back. Listening to the line you play is also helpful
Richter was a lion
Big time!
Great advice on learning about the composer. Very helpful information.
Wat is your advice to hand with slitly thick fingers ?
Focus on concentrating your fingertip; imagine that you are not randomly pressing the key, but rather "hitting" the heart of the kye, as if there's a target. Make sure your hand position is round, fingertip always focused.
@@alexandra.tsirkel thank you , I have trined on using fingertips , and I will concentrate on that , but the problem in the black area , the finger toch the sids of the black keys , using the upper side of the key reduced that.

Nice…❤
Thanks!
I would think that it would depend on the piece… yes?
Absolutely! And within a piece, you will almost all the time have a combination of these two approaches.
Thank you ❤
Nice…❤
I'm playing this one and i play it fast but not THIS FAST !!!! 😂😂 I love it and i wish that i was as good as you❤❤
thank you so much! Good luck :)
What a torrent of passion! Brilliant playing.
Thank you very much!
In the early 1960s, Ashkenazi participated in a piano competition where he and other contestants were given a new piece of modern music to learn and play before the judges in the following day. Despite the challenge, he managed to memorize the piece quickly and played it flawlessly before the judges, ultimately winning the competition.
