    This is not boxing. This is bullshido masquerading as an effective martial art.

    Good job! Aikido is zen in movement. But better this than bad aikido. Today aikido is bad aikido. With this can improve. Open minds my friends

    Very nice! Keep the good stuff going. This works against untrained people. For the future it would be good if the attacker is resisting more after his attack. You showed some good ideas and entries, the next step would be to add more intensity and resistance.

    Looks like you are demonstrating some new moves. I've seen others perform that one you did :17 into the video. The clinch and throw at :24 looks very familiar. Your timing on slipping the punches is excellent. That's the key to making aikido work.

    I notice that you are fighting a lot closer than when you started. That would explain the headgear. I like how you slip the jab to the outside to get irimi nage. I notice that you fight from the ai hamni stance when you go for the irimi nage. I may give that a try. I've been working on technique off of the ai hamni stance. It does put you a lot closer to that cross. Keep up the good work.

      Hi Richard I am happy to hear from you after such a long time ya you are right I am more comfortable now with short distance than before which gives me a quick way to close the distance and control the opponent’s center even it is more risky but it gives me the opening that I need I always go back and watch your videos I benefited from them and waiting for the new ones

      I've studying Hal Lehrman and Endo's style of aikido under Jim Baker. It's more relaxed and flowing, which I think will work best in a fight. I want to make aikido look like aikido in a fight. I have a few new techniques that we've been working on and will have some instructional videos out soon.@@aimanturani

    People will say that it is a really BAD boxing, and they will be right to do so, but one is more likely to run into a "boxer" like this then a professional athlete 👍

    This is your best video yet. This opponent moves more like a classical boxer. He circles around. Every technique that has worked for you, we have also found works. What made your aikido work with this opponent is timing. Great job as usual.

      Thanks Richard I agree this was my best I always learn from my mistakes I was hit many time in the past that why I cover and wait until I find an opening then I go towards his center and engage using a technique I think Aikido is a great marshal art and has a lot of potential but the problem is they of practice is carried in dojo which there is no resistance and full collaboration from your partner Please keep posting your videos it is so useful because you have both ends experience

    • @richardkillblane5698
      @richardkillblane5698 Год назад

      @@aimanturani I noticed how you brought your hands up when you and your opponent closed the distance. I do the same unless I'm baiting my opponent. You are correct on what's missing from aikido training. I offer both traditional instruction and fictional training (sparring). Some prefer the traditional training and some like sparring. The great thing about sparring and resistance is that we have come to understand the context for which traditional aikido techniques work. Unfortunately, aikido has evolved to aikidoists doing aikido to other aikidoists without an understanding of how the attack would actually take place and how the throw would change with resistance.

      I agree with what you mentioned in your talk that Aikido is missing the marshal art part this also was my feeling I think originally it had this part and thats how o snesi defeted his opponents but I don know way he decided to take it off maybe he was overconfident that it will still work or maybe his students were so complient and he need no more outside challenges
