What is the cable part number for the usb that give the usb power ?

I went through the process and followed the directions exactly. It took my car over 3 hours to update. Not sure why. But when it got to the end and said installation complete. It worked! One thing none of the RUclipsr's never mentioned was that the screen gives an alert saying that the USB is not compatible. Even though it all still works. My guess is because i got the parts from Amazon and not from Ford.

It's stupid that you need a new module for this. It should just be a dumb module that passes USB straight to the head unit with separate dash light wires. By the looks of the connector, it's a special USB mini-B connector and the module is a USB hub which should be standard.

Thanks for your video. I did this last night and it worked. The only thing I wanted to add was that my USB ended in “-F” not “-B” at the end of the numbers the that were the same as yours on the box. Just an FYI.

Going to go get this part after work today I’m tired of Bluetooth connection and the volume for music also is lower through Bluetooth than through Apple CarPlay or android whichever you have

I cant even get my pos to update, let alone install the module, but I have spent $85 for no CarPlay still. If you do plug the module in before updating it, the pos says its a bad USB and to remove it

Thanks for video. It made the process much less stressful. One difference I had was that my 2016 F-150 would not update from SYNC3 v.2 to SYNC3 v.3 until after I swapped the USB hub. The vehicle said that it successfully installed the update from the thumb drive (SYNC3 v.3), but until the new hub was in, the head unit still displayed the old software version. As soon as the hub was connected, I started the vehicle and v.3 was displayed. Everything works perfectly with the iphone X connected via an Apple lightning cable. I was surprised to learn that I could use Google Maps and that I was not confined to Apple Maps.

We had that happen once, in the early 1970's Since then, we tap threads in all those openings (galleys) and install pipe plugs.

I seem to have the same problem unfortunately, hopping that's what it is cuz I went through two cams, 16 pushrods and and a butt load of oil, filters and lifters! Really need the shop who rebuilt it for me to do the right thing.

Just did this, easy and works perfectly. $57 including sales tax at the Ford dealer. Part number now ends with E instead of B.

Good video i have the part number on my video but if you got to your ford dealer just tell them you want the latest production usb port apple car play compatible they can be a pain to pop out some times especially on the newer edges got you with a sub 🇺🇸👊🔴⚪🔵💪👍

Just curious how did it take to switch over to CarPlay

This applies for 2016 Ford Fiestas and Fiesta ST's im having the same problem in my ST, i just need to find out which one to put into my car. This video helped alot i thought i was the only one not getting it, after i updated to v3.0 Sync.

I installed this product and I love the functionality. Only problem is my volume up/down and other steering wheel controls don’t work like they used to. Did you have this problem too?
