im so scared i dont want to be stuck in one career field :(
@@tartinic7500 nvm im not doing this study anymore lol

@@lemonstrangler plss I wanne hear
Seems very dependent on connections with contractors and seems very sensitive to commercial real estate markets.
Is it better to be a landscape architect after getting a bachelor in architecture Barch or a bachelors in science environmental design? My school does not offer landscape architecture as a bachelor degree only environmental design. Is a degree in architecture good for this field?
It's good if you really have a passion for L.A but it's all about the licencing not the degree
Yes, this a great answer to her question. At my uni, I only get to chose in my Master course if I want become a landscape architect. Before that, we all study architecture as our main discipline accompanied by landscape and context as well as urban design throughout the years to make us more concious of the importance of the landscape.
Can you enter this field after studying a degree in architecture ?
Im in the same situation as you rn
same question
same question
"office bound"... This isn't what I thought it would be.. thank God I saw this video before studying it.
But you design and do what you have a passion for in the office. And most of the time you’re outside to see what will work best for the project
Clickity clackity
@@kalmin9310 I absolutely hate office jobs. I thought landscape architecture would be: coming up with design ideas, sketching estimates, and applying real measurements based on the appropriate knowledge the client gives you. Not being on a computer all day… designing something that requires you to have skill with computers.
@@babyg220 you become part of a team, so it’s not as strict as you make it seem. if you have strong computer skills and don’t mind taking on that work, you will get more of that work. someone else in the office may have greater plant knowledge than you, so they’ll do much more research regarding environmental impacts, locally native species, and other requirements needed to be met that fall in line with that skill. TLDR: just find the right team who need the skills you offer
for real, no joke there, I rather using my gift of creativity and apply it without that stress.
i wanna have my own practice 🕳👄🕳
What practice-
i would love to work for you. can you hire me without a degree in architecture?
How are you doing
I have a question if you want to be a landscape architect do you have to mastered drawing please answer me because I don't know drawing
Im worried about this too, but everything is online drawn besides rough sketches for the most part. As long as you're able to get your point across it'll be fine
@@viovenda8922 Guys chill out, Im in third year and I still dont know how to (what you might call "draw") you will only have to exercise your hand to draw paralel lines and kind of good circles. You will have to learn to sketch, that is crucial, but does not require talent, only an open mind and a little exercise. I can answer more of your questions.
@@strachinariuciprian9721 do you think the exam is gonna be hard?
@@Musihoodie Admission exam? I didn't have that. And any exam will be as hard as your time spent studying/practising
@@strachinariuciprian9721 wait so there is no exam you have to take to be licenesed?

i love minecraft
yeh uh, this field of work is very different to minecraft. i know its tempting to look at that way, but minecraft is really surface level, if you like minecraft then you can do building
@@lemonstrangler what else would you suggest to those who like Minecraft? I’m currently in the mist of switching majors and want to do something similar for a full time job
How to learn landscape architecture
experience , just get a job. or go to school but that will take 9 years
@@lemonstrangler doesn’t it only take 4 - 5 years of university to become a landscape architect
Amazed at how few landscape architect there are in RUclips. Good of you to give an insight.
agreed
@MrTsiolkovsky It's hard to find the time sometimes, however RUclips is basically Google with videos and as such is tremendous free advertising opportunity. Busy or not it makes sense.
I want to do all of EVERYTHING. interior design , landscape architect and realtor
How's your journey been? I've thought of that before.
It might be hard cuz they are relatively different realms and have different focus and knowledge. However, just follow your heart if you decide to give a try.
Just be an architect and start your own firm. You'll get most of that without too much overlap outside of your discipline.
man I thought I wanted to be a realtor but I mainly just majored in it because the money is good. What I really want to do is become a freelance artist and post content on youtube
Same dear girl same. lol
Do landscape architects SOLELY do landscaping? Or is ACTUAL architecture (buildings) implemented in the design? Given.... on average the pay is LESS than that of a regular architect. Which is confusing to me as you need a masters...... so why get a masters in Landscape architecture?
you don't NEED a masters in LA, but many programs offer classes that train you for the certification process. it's not just landscaping, but also understanding the plants needed for the area, the drainage needs of a site, etc.
Landscape architects design and detail architectural elements in addition to the soft landscaping components. It is more than just pretty planting. Some online research will show you the extent of landscape architectural interventions globally.
landscape archiects do landscape design, planning, and urban design
