Just you typical car guy, and Z car enthusiast.
Shinko 230 Tour Master tires: 1000 mile review
Ive had these tires for over 1 and a half months and put almost 1000 miles on them and decided I would do a review of my 1000 miles impression of the tires.

How to change the oil in an 86 v45 Magna Song:We_chill_all_night-remastered By:TeknoAXE
I just looked up these tires they are about 300 bucks for the set lol
@7thsignthenorthcoast146 I can get a set from Motosport.com for 171 before taxes and shipping, although 8 years ago I think I got them for around that out the door, maybe less.
@@zfixation9817 jpcycles and revzilla fourthly 150 a piece before taxes
how much oil ?
According to my owners manual it’s 3.1 quarts of oil
I was always taught to turn the engine over without firing it up before you started that way you have oil to the top cylinders in Honda V45 Magna suck for oil to the top end
Thank you
I also have a 1986 Honda vf700c Magna and am trying to put the Wix 51334 filter on it but it seems like it is too wide and hits the exhaust when I try to screw it in, did you have this problem?
That’s how real riders pronounce it. ;)
How about gear oil change?
At the 3:40 mark I do state that the engine should be warm.
He mentioned all that in the video
Great vid - Thanks! These tires are directional, and it looks like your front tire is on the wrong way......There is an arrow that should show the direction of the tire rotation. Hate for you to aqua plain under braking. Backs look good though. I've also brought a Shenko rear tire and love it. Will soon order a front. Cheers. Actually - Don't worry, just noticed this vid is 6 years old.
Motorcicle
Yeah, I wasnt exactly the most eloquent speaker back then. Lol
Nice! I just ordered one of these for the rear on my 96 Magna. The Dunlop I have on there is only about 3 years old and dry rotting.
This is the same process and for a 1985 VF700 Magna, right?
1895? 😅 I'm guessing you meant 1985, I'm not terribly familiar with the different models, but I would assume so, I cant imagine they changed much between those model years.
@@zfixation9817 Yes, I meant the 1985. Typographical mistakes happen very often by everyone, and that time when I wrote it was night time and I was a bit tired, so you understand. The reason why I'm asking is because the 1984 VF700 Magna looks quite different, especially on the wheels, and perhaps a bit on the dimensions as well, than the 1985 and 1986 which look almost identical, and the 1987 VF700 Super Magna can't say anything about that. It's just the most different.
@@zfixation9817 Also, could you tell me tire dimensions front and rear?
you need to wait at least 5 minutes before cheking your oil stick after the enige has run! it needs time to run down at the lowest point.
im sure this is for the people that cant read....and you need to learn how to pronounce what your changing oil in...
I'm terribly sorry, I can't help that I'm autistic and ADHD, please excuse me, I just wanted to be helpful.
so im assuming you cant read cause your here lmao. and you need to learn how to stop being a prick. johnny is helping you with a great tutorial so quit playing tough guy behind the anonymity of a keyboard. keep doing what ya do johnny and fuck the haters they are shmucks
@@zfixation9817 your video was very helpful for me. Thank you and well done
ON MY SHADOW 1100 I GOT 3 YEARS AND 7,000 MILES FROM THE FRONT. WAS DRY ROTTED AND JUST ABOUT BALD. I LIKED THE TIRE....15,000/12,000? HORSESHIT.
I have these tires on an 85 shadow 1100 and got 15000 miles out of the front and about 12000 miles on the rear.
Well how many miles
Bass Player unfortunately I ended up being involved in an accident a few hundred miles after filming this video, I ended up selling the bike.
Did you quit riding also?
Bass Player yeah, at the time I was just thankful to be alive, it scared me pretty badly. I got over it about a year after it happened, but I just haven't gotten the money together to buy another bike.
I know what you mean, good luck...
Shouldn't you check the oil level with the motorcycle upright instead of on the kickstand? That might be why it registered low. You may have overfilled it.
David Moore it was on the center stand. Its perfectly fine ro fill the oil on the center stand and used exactly the amount its supposed to. Keep in mind, the filter and area in the head that pools oil are both going to be refilled when you first run the engine after the oil change.
How much need oil too fill full max norm? 😁
Arnoldas Murnikovas it should take 3.1 to 3.2 quarts.
Johnny-Ray 88 thanks a lot I ask for my friend
nice bike. used to have it but sadly sold it. keep riding
Thanks for the info..I have '84 magna V30/500. Prototype for the V30 700
Thanks for taking the time to do the video. Great advice and great job.
how many miles did you end up getting out of the tires?
Michael Pena I ended up wrecking the bike a few hundred miles later, so unfortunately I couldn't put any considerable amount of miles on them.
Johnny-Ray 88 dang, I was looking into a pair of shinko brand but have heard mixed reviews
Michael Pena I loved them, and would buy them again. I'm sure there are stickier tires, and tires you might be able to get more miles from, but if I still had the bike, based off of how they did while I had them (about 1200 miles or so), I would buy that same model of tire again in a heart beat, and even if they didn't last as long as the competitor's I wouldn't care because the low cost makes up for the lower mileage. Long story short, they did excellent for normal riding, the night I wrecked my bike it was in the low 40's and it had snowed 2 days earlier, I ended up hitting atleast about 100 to 150 yards of wet ice, but the bike stayed up, I ended up getting clothes lined by a cable on a wrecker that was pulling a cadillac out of a corn field, he didnt have cones out, and the cars lights were off and I could only lay it down or shoot the gap, so I ended up clothes lined and over in a ditch. Also for the record, my helmet saved my life, the cable was about mouth height when I hit it.
Johnny-Ray 88 well glad to hear your ok. I'm having to pretty much redo the front end on my vtx1800. the fork seals went out this weekend, and it needs a new front tire. might as well replace the wheel bearings while I'm there.
Michael Pena thanks, and sorry to hear your having issues.
expensive oil change ! my friends, family and i, all use rottela deisel oil . ive got a 85 vf700 sabre, same engine. no issues at all, 14 bucks for 5 quarts, no clutch slippage after 8k miles n 4 oil changes
Nick B I also use rotella in my v rod, Springer and my 87 magna 700. Works great. 5 years using and no issues.
Rotella FTW T4 and T6 are spectacular oils
HaHA thanks though, that was funny you said it so fast MOTORSICKLE! Thanks for the vid bro...
lol, yeah, I won't say I'm camera shy, but camera awkward is a good term for it, I usually end up saying something odd or differently than I normally would, and don't catch it until its pointed out! lol with that said, dont mention it, I hope it was helpful!
motor sickle ? Just kidding, good video.
lol, I didn't realize I said sickle instead of cycle lol I mumbled alot too..... and thanks, I appreciate the feedback!
