Mdeko - experienced general-contractor. Hello, do you know the difference between Knauf super-finish and Knauf fill and finish? Looks both are for Q4 wall finish. Thank you
@@Ghost638 hello, thanks for asking, I had same question so, next work order I get for plastering I will pick fill and finish instead of super finish, and will share results and my opinion how they are different in applying, drying, sanding and how paint went on it 👌 i will answer your question in detail as soon as i will be able to!
@@Ghost638 hey again, at this moment i work on small order, and i plastered it with knauf super-finish, i cant recommend Knauf plaster anymore, this is second time i have issues with knauf, 2020 i had same issue with roll n spray, now i have to remake 25m2 ceiling that is full of micro air pockets/bubbles that became apparent after painting
hey again, probably it was fault not in knauf plaster itself, but reaction to added tap water and hot weather (+28-33c), next time i will be adding DISTILED water and maybe will avoid formation of micro air pockets/bubbles.

Will this work on top of an existing skim? Ive just bought a house that needs the old thick wallpaper taking off and i dread to think what the plaster is like underneath the wallpaper. Will this be suitable to go over the wall once ive taken the wallpaper off ?
Yeah, primer surface and let it dry before applying plaster. Some places, dents, cracks may need extra treatment.. good luck!
All the plasterers panicking now! I won’t have to pay £500 for one coat and a polish the stuff works I skimmed out a fire place ok I’m not a novice I have 30years as a professional decorator but it’s good stuff

It does work. I never skim coated anything in my life. I follow the instructions of a few of these RUclips videos anger great results. Make sure you use the right drywall compound make sure that you mix it to the right consistency and it helps to have somebody with you to roll it on. I bought the DeWalt 32 inch pole mounted skimming blade that helped out immensely. Depending upon your situation plan to put on 2 to 3 coats. Also it doesn't hurt if you have some skill with a joint compound knife to fill and smooth out some of the bad areas.
Outstanding comment, I am so glad to hear it helps you out and you have realy on point remarks. 2 coats will be always enough if you do joints and corners before them so they are about even, after 1st coat I usually check for small defects and apply skinny coat on them! Edit : consistency of compound are very important, that I tried to show in the video how I like my compound, for this Knauf product (28kg) sweet spot for me are added 300ml of water (:

Why two sheets though?
one reason is better sound insulation, ceiling is stronger, joints will never crack, better for inlayed LED profiles it makes no gap when you cut places for led profiles or inlayed curtain rails that this ceiling will have. as you can see vents are designed for two layer system
Do you attach the 2nd sheet to 1st sheet or use longer screws which reach the metal studs?
hey, for first layer i use 25mm screws and for second layer 41mm, longer ones yes, and much more of them, when you hit ceiling with fist it sounds very solid without any metal rattle sounds !
and all the screws go into metal studs

should knauf roll' n spray be mixed with water?
Not must, depends on consistency you like. Super-finish can't work like this without adding water
you should never have to sand something like this.. you have a textured wall now, scratches from the sanding, you want a smooth finish you need to finish with water, skimming wet coat ontop and then finish with polishing. this will make the wall like marble and you should never have to sand specialy not with that tool its a lazy mans tool and its not as good as it seems. if you like to have circle scratches all over your wall this is the shit you need ofc!

This Knauf plaster is totally crap plaster. Never gonna use it again.. i prefer the real flour surface filler. :)
I like knauf super finish better than this roll n spray, thinking what plaster to test next. Keep in mind this can be fill-coat and on top finer grit plaster ;)
