Those games were alright but just play platnum.

I rate it a 7/10. Its not the worst game, but it could’ve used some improvement. The shiny charm barely works, so completing the national dex doesn’t feel worth the time and effort. On the plus side, hm moves don’t need to be taught to any Pokémon to use them. I also really like the improvement of the grand underground. It’s cool to find wild Pokémon underground that don’t always spawn in the main part of the game

The BDSP games felt like the ultimate monkeys paw of a remake. Fantastic review. This was really well done, and hopefully get to see more from you in the future.

Objectively they are the superior version to the original. But thats like spray painting a turd with solid gold and saying its better than normal shit

I enjoyed my play through recently. Took me back to a style of Pokémon we don’t really get anymore.

I agree that the game shouldn't have been a 1:1 (or close to it) ratio to the original but I dont hate this game like everyone else 🤷🏾

All they did is copy and paste the ds games then just made it 3d and called it a day it will forever be known as the weakest remake in Pokémon history

BDSP is literally just a switch enhanced D and P not even platinum. Even the glitches translated into the game that’s terrible

I understand your point. But OrAs and HgSs are also remakes but they not only take stuff from their third game counterparts and extends them out and makes the games better as well. What BdSp did wasn't remaking the game. It remastered it. It didn't take anything like new evolutions or mechanics into account nor did it attempt to make the game better with over 10 years of retrospect. What BdSp are in reality just cheap licensed cash ins to prey in fans who have waited a decade for one of the best regions to be remade only to be given a sloppy copy paste job.

They were remakes of dp, not platinum. Like we see with let’s go, they will eventually make a remake of platinum. But yeah, bdsp is still bad.

Personally, I think these were some of the most fun I had with Pokemon Games in recent years. I know people weren't big fans on the Chibi Style of the games, but oddly, I think it's what gave them it's charm. I know people wanted HGSS/ORAS levels of remakes, but I think these did that but the "flaws" people seen held most from enjoying the games or publicly saying they enjoyed the games. Unless a game is a full Reboot, I think they should stick to/stay as close to the original artwork of the games. And that's what they did with BDSP!

This game would be great without the mandatory team EXP share and if the events could still be given, so much game content is now lost forever.

Diamond was my first ever Pokémon game, so Sinnoh will always hold a special place in my heart. Since playing Diamond, I have played every single Pokémon release since then, and have played all of the releases on the gameboy. These remakes didn’t do enough for me to play them over the original games, even though they were faster and fixed the HM issues. The look of the game is ok, not really my favorite style, but I can see why some people really like it. I also liked the additional challenge that the gym leaders and Elite 4 offered, and Cynthia was as good as ever. Despite those changes, the rest of the game plays the exact same. There were no special battle mechanics, no additions to the story, and your character was completely lifeless. I liked Ramadas Park, though the digging for those stones to unlock rooms was kinda dumb in my opinion. Overall, it’s not a great game by any means, but I do think it gets a little too much flack. There are other games that could be critiqued similarly.

If BDSP had extended story content and post game content and character models from battle for over world, I would say it’d been GOATED. Not a bad at all. Just wasted potential. Fun if you’ve never played OG. I still enjoyed it for what it was.

Terrible. Literal bare minimum they could have done. How they even made an inferior version of what they made before. The graphics hurt the eyes. Really unappealing mysims looking game. The elite four difficulty is great though and a positive. What else is even supposed to even be the draw of this game? Oras was bringing hoenn into a modern game with the perspective of megas and changed multiple things about the story. And that was not even close to all they did and all the liberties they took. The same game with one or two quality of life changes is not how you could describe any of the prior remakes before. I don't get it.

When these game’s first came out I didn’t even know how much people hated them, all I heard about was stuff like pokemon following you or the elite four being reworked with actual competitive movesets

They were the definitive versions of Diamond and Pearl. ........who wants to play Diamond and Pearl, either version, when Platinum exists.

The main thing I liked from this game over the original (besides the fairy typing, updated movesets and fast healthbar) is that you can explore the snow route in diagonal, making it leagues less tedious to traverse and find the HM

I love BDSP, only thing I was really missing was the Battle Frontier from Platinum. Other than that I loved everything else.

I don't agree with many points in this video, more significantly the section praising the 'Quality of Life' improvements and self-assigned challenge. Theoretically, an easier version of D/P would mean greater choice in Pokémon throughout the adventure. However, the elite 4 are unjustifiably pumped up for nostalgia, attempting to win with a weaker team isn't possible if we don't consider pity hacks (friendship). Copying and pasting the original NPCs in the name of remaining faithful is one thing, yet levelling up the elite 4 to an insane degree is bonkers. There's only one way to play: steamroll the entire game with an OP team and friendship hax the elite 4. Platinum was better. Readjusted trainers, increased choice, reasonable animation speedup, more Pokémon, improved pixel graphics. Your theory that DP were the intended experience because Plt was the 'enhanced' version doesn't make sense, considering Emerald was faithfully implemented into the faithful ORAS remake. They could've easily done the same for faithful Plt, yet they didn't. Why? We don't know, nobody does.

I find it very sad that they successfully remade gens 1-3 and did a terrific job on all of those but then treated gen 4 like trash.

Bdsp will always be considered to me one of the worse remakes of a game I have ever witnessed.

I love Pokémon as much as anyone but I will never be biased by this game I hated on it so much because it was a miserable ugly cashgrab
