My favourite piece of televised snooker was a semi-final in the world snooker championship if I remember rightly. It may have only been a 22-27 point clearance most of the colours but the coloured balls were all in appallingly bad positions. He cleared up to take the frame and I think the match later. Felt sorry for Jimmy another borderline genius of the game and probably the greatest player never to win the world championship.

They are putting the finishing touches to a new mural of Higgy on the Donegal Road, close to the location where the "Jampot" once stood , The Jampot is where Alex learned to play snooker. I am proud to say I played there twice (as a kid) shortly before it closed. The likeness on the mural is fantastic, much better than the previous one. It simply reads "Alex Hurricane Higgins", along with his birth and death year.
