    It says that RBCA will need to seek advice from RBI. What is the difference? The company is a group and thus is called RBCA while RBI is an individual? So a group will ask advice from an individual, what am I missing?

    That was very helpful. I live in Phoenix, Arizona, and I’ve been trying to solve the issue with my flat roof den room extension that was here when the house was bought by my parents. It’s my parents house and let me tell you I’ve rebuilt the back porch I’ve had to reset some of the walls, but the whole house in totality is poorly poorly insulated but when it came to this one room, nobody has been able to clearly and logically explain hot roof versus cold roof to me. Everybody wants to use condensation and start trying to get all scientific and all these numbers no I just need to know the structural difference that’s it. Thank you so much finally gosh darn I’m gonna share this with anybody I can, cause I’ve asked lots of guys and they have no clue they try to explain science to me too. I just wanna know which one I need to build and how to build it.

    its all great but I guess it would be better to employ some professional content creator who could make this more accessible with info graphics, correct methodology of introduction - from broad perspective looking at the subject from the cloud to the very detail. Right now it is very dry and inaccessible to average Joe like myself.

    According to Table 1 of BS 9251 2021, Category 4 only applies if the building is 18m or higher (a flat of 4 storeys can be less than 18m and therefore not Category 4). Do I understand wrongly?

    Thanks, great explanation. Regarding domestic extensions the exact thing you spoke of happened to my next door neighbour, he somehow ended up with concrete tiles on a pitch that was too low, the roof started leaking a few months later and they all had to come off.

    Thank you that was very helpful, however in practical terms what does this mean for building notices. As inspectors and not part of the design team, I can envisaged us encountering issues when determing compliance on site. If the contractor is technically struggling to comply, is there any point in the building notice route.

    Interesting to see how factors like ecology will effect this. I had a site delayed by ecology for over two years and banks won't lend unless building regulations drawings have been released. This will mean some schemes may have to go back to planning and a lot more developers could go bust due to the terms of the loan. UK Gov strikes again!

    Key issues are always missing and that is that to mitigate the build up of moisture in a home then Humistat Extractors should be more widely installed and Traditional English building appearances will have to change......... Why are Continental Roller shutters not incorporated over glazed areas to reduce heat buildup in rooms and applicable to all rooms with air temperatures rising. Thank you for the information.

    It makes a lot of sense in my view but if you use the NHBC calculator, you can't find the hedge, only the full blown tree which I think is a significant oversight in many cases.

  • @beniaminbalint3711
    @beniaminbalint3711 Год назад

    Hi Paul. Very clear and on point video. What is your take on this : "There are general observations and characteristics that can support the fact that a hawthorn hedge typically has lower water demand compared to a hawthorn tree. 1. Root Systems: - Hawthorn Hedges: Hedges consist of multiple shrubs planted closely together, resulting in smaller individual root systems. The limited root system of a hedge generally requires less water. - Hawthorn Trees: Individual trees, especially larger and more mature specimens, have larger and more extensive root systems. These root systems can extract water from a wider area, resulting in higher water demands. 2. Canopy Coverage: - Hawthorn Hedges: Hedges typically have denser foliage and can provide some shade and protection against direct sunlight. This can reduce evaporation and help retain soil moisture, resulting in lower water demand. - Hawthorn Trees: Trees have larger canopies that can create more shade, but they can also increase evaporation, leading to higher water demand. 3. Soil Moisture Retention: - Hawthorn Hedges: The close proximity of shrubs in a hedge can help create a microclimate that encourages moisture retention in the soil, reducing water demand. - Hawthorn Trees: The larger open space around individual trees may result in increased air circulation and soil moisture loss, potentially leading to higher water demand."
