Toyota Trail Trash
Добавлен 17 май 2021
On the channel I’ll be talking about my Supercharged FJ Cruiser build, Toyota content, and trail talk. I’ll be giving reviews on performance parts, off-roading gear, and camping equipment all purchased by me, no sponsors.
Feel free to ask questions about Toyota performance parts. I’ve turned every wrench on my rig and I feel like I’m a self taught Yota Performance Engineer… the schooling was very expensive and nerve racking but also fulfilling. My rig is dialed in and ready for anything. That was the purpose for my build!

160 lbs of rotating mass is HUGE ... on your tire and wheel combo.

It's always great following people that have another TTUE. I'm about to rip apart my IFS. Will this work on long travel DK? Appreciate the time.

Love the FJ looks dope. Just a quick note. The EPA is never going to come kicking down your door because they saw something on RUclips. It’s gonna be a local state enforcement agency where you get your smog check done who’s gonna tell you you can’t get tags and that’s it. Exhaust fabrication looks awesome and the exhaust note is way better than factory

U definitely getting ur money’s worth on those Auxito - Y19. But keep this in mind. As much as I love Auxito. We all know 10,000-34,000 lumens per bulb or per pair is a lie. If it’s 25W each, it’s 2500 lumens each. If it’s 40W each, it’s 4000 lumens each. If it’s 60W each or 120W a pair, it’s 6000 lumens each or 12,000 a pair. So keep that in mind. I'd put that tacticool wall on my garage or storage closet wall, and hang guns, grenades and spare Mags on it. You must have a shelf on the tailgate! Because you need a place to rest your guns, grenades and spare mags.
You said that if you had to do it again you wouldn't purchase the ARB. What would you purchase? Asking because I'm looking to buy one and the ARB was among the top in my list.
I’d like to have the Goose Gear or Air Down Gear Up ones. It may be because I’ve had the ARB one for 3-4 years🤷🏻♂️ Thanks for watching and commenting👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Thanks, I haven’t looked at Air Down, Gear Up.

What are your thoughts on the PIAA lights?
Not a fan of them. They were installed by Toyota when I bought my FJ. I’ve been doing research on what I’m going to replace them with. I haven’t made a decision on it yet. Thanks for the support 👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Nice ride. I have one exactly like it except mine is mostly stock. 2014 TTUE's are probably the prettiest blue paint in the industry. I subscribed to your channel so I'll watch any new updates. Thanks for sharing.

Off topic, but what kind of tires are those?
Yokohama - geolander m/t
Super clean FJ, I am jealous I didn't spend better when I bought mine. Looking at these awnings and this video helps. I am liking the Alu-cab because it has a layer that probably keeps it cooler underneath, but this Bush Company awnings are built strong.

I just ordered 4.56 for my FJ but my goals for it is for just the weekend trails. No really planing on heavy mods or tents. I agree if you go with heavy mods then 4.88 or higher would be the best choice according to the multiple forums I’ve seen. 😅
Absolutely! Congrats on the 4.56’s, you’re going to love what it does to your FJ! Be sure to let me know what you think after the install👍🏻 Thanks for watching and commenting💪🏻
What a clean vehicle, wow. I thought LiFePO4 batteries aren’t recommended for under hood use due to heat? I see the max operating temperature on those batteries is 150°
Thanks! Yeah, this is the 1st gen of their stater battery series designed for underwood and starting power. I waited for a while and talked to some guys running them before pulling the trigger. The 11yr warranty helped sell me. I haven’t had an issue on the heat and charging yet and I installed them during July in southern MS. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for watching and commenting!💪🏻

You know I'm impressed with the FJ build and your garage. But I'm confused, everything is so perfect, so expensive and so clean. What are your intentions with the FJ? Is this for Sema, Cars and Coffee or do you have any intentions, to have this take you places a unmodified FJ can't? In other words, will this ever see Utah?
🤣🤣, I have thought about SEMA before I beat it up. I started with rock crawling in mind, then turned towards a slight overland build. I’m one that believes everything will go to 💩 one day, when that happens I’ll be ready. I just told my wife today that I want to go on a quick trip/trail ride soon. I have a shoulder surgery 10/3, I want to do a shakedown run. I’m coming to Utah, probably spring 25, I’d love to wheel with you. 💪🏻 it is clean and expensive. I’ve thought about selling it for top $ and doing another build. My passion is building autos👍🏻💪🏻🇺🇸
Nice! Sounds good. I need to redo a bunch of my own exhaust mods. I have the JBA LT's and aFe y pipe and the rest is custom built through the back which is dual out, Black Widow Venom II muffler and 3 reaonators. The whole system is pretty loud lol I have to track down a couple of leaks, too. Thanks for sharing your vid and nice job, man.

Is that the URD Supercharger?! Nice! I looked for one but couldn't find one. Thinking about going Magnusson. Or would you not go supercharger at all?
@@Proj3ct_FJ Yes it is a URD-SC. The URD setup has a piggyback ECU, with my long tube headers(no O2 sensors) , it will feed to correct signals so that the FJ won’t go into limp mode with check engine and traction control lights on. If you’re keeping your emissions intact, I would go with Mag-SC. Procharger makes a kit for 5th gen 4 runner, I bet it can go on the FJ? Worth checking with them, I want to build a 5th gen 4runner, that’s the route I’m taking. In closing, yes I think it is worth it. I couldn’t imagine trying to get onto the freeway without my SC. @@lucasspiros That’s what I was afraid of with the extremely high ones on the market, I was hoping the 180amp would not affect it but with my battery requiring 130amp, I’m going that route.
