Moral progress starts with us.
I make content about moral progress, which often includes my interest in Kyudo, Zen, and Ethics.
I spend my time researching, reflecting, and recording ideas that help to start conversations about how we choose to interact with ourselves and the world.
This isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress.
If we aren’t focused on making any moral progress, then it doesn’t matter how much we build our body, business, or bank account-it’ll all be hollow victories that concentrate influence into hands unfit for the power they possess, especially within large companies and governments. The more powerful a society is, the more important this is.
Moral progress might include things as simple as managing our time with loved ones better, finding opportunities to give what we can, and making choices that are based in love instead of fear. But it can also mean supporting larger causes that help to steer the world in a better direction.
I'm glad to have you here.

Great video, your insights always spark reflection, truly inspiring perspectives✨
@@Bashia_ I’m glad you’re enjoying them 🙏🏻
As always, excellent video! Great reminder of the importance of how we engage and our perspective when encountering struggles, I feel like each person’s struggles/challenges are shaped by their unique life experiences and circumstances, I also agree on the importance of struggle in the overall progress of our growth/development. I feel that we can often forget to acknowledge these things, especially when struggling. It’s inspiring to see your reflection demonstrated through your example with Kyudo! Truly valuable points & reminders! ✨
Absolutely, thanks for being here!
cool vid matt
cheers thore 💪🏻
Bro thinks he’s the mc
Well yeah, I’m the mc of my life, you’re the mc of yours. So let’s make the most of it
@@matthewcollins Nah ur the mc of my life too 🤭🤭
Seiga yumi?
That’s right, love it

lowkey
I've got a visceral feeling this video is about to gain a lot of traction.
Let’s hope so 🙏🏻
I'm really interested in doing bachelor in germany, where I'm also from Australia! It will be really difficult to do and probably quite stressful, but it will be new and a travel. I've never travelled alone yet, and hopefully, I'm able to do it in 2 years :). Goodluck on your travel, and best of luck! You got this.
Thanks for your support. Germany sounds like a great adventure! I’m glad to hear you’re on track to choosing the path less travelled 😏
Hi Matthew, this sounds very interesting. It seems as if you've found something that you're passionate about, I wish you all the best :)
Thanks, I appreciate that! Yeah, it absolutely is something that I feel I’ll do for the rest of my life. I hope I can share the journey and any learnings that come from my time there 🙌🏻
Lovely video, I'd love to learn more about the practice too!
Thanks! I’ve posted a couple recent videos that are relevant here which might serve as a decent primer, check out “The practice that’s changing my life” and “How Japanese Archery might help AI Ethics”. That last one seems right up your alley, let me know what you think
Subtitulos en español ???
Unfortunately no, my apologies
You find no purpose in life. You lack direction in life. Not so surprising for someone as privileged as you. You waste time pondering upon unrealistic thoughts. Are 'traveling' and 'finding yourself' blanket terms for your lazy and 'fake' approach in life?
As always, great thoughts. The way you express your feelings is amazing. Hope more people will find your channel.
I'm glad you always seem to enjoy them 🙌🏻
Big fan of your work, Hano. Keep it up, my friend!
I have to admit I fall into these voids all the time, especially thinking about the past and future.. it's troublesome @_@ I really like the idea of only thinking about yourself in the present, I'll try that! Thank you Matthew~
It's a simple shift, but that doesn't mean it's easy to do. Good luck with it!
YOOO NEW ETHICAL FRAMEWORK JUST DROPPED. Love your work bro, can't wait for the next vid on this
Cheers man, framework ETA next week 🤫
All part of the journey brother <3
Wouldn't have it any other way <3
Great conversation! What's the poster behind hano ?
Yet another one of his trademarked mysterious pieces known only to the man himself
I'm kaist student. Just finished my 1st sem. I loved the way you talked about respecting the opportunity and giving onself a second chance.
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it
The vibe I'm getting from this video is that having returned feels underwhelming to you? It's obv. never was amazing as we picture it when being gone, but on my part I know that being home again I will *really* appreciate some of the things Germany has to offer (like techno clubs, good pastry, and mainly not eating rice).
Now I realise I didn't emphasise how good it has been to be back in Australia. The main point was to say that going somewhere else, in this case away from Australia, isn't necessarily the answer to particular residual problems. Although it was in fact a worthy and memorable trip
Love the hair! Great video.
Cheers Reign!
The intro is so chaotic.
and to think a lesser man would've edited it out
Why you waring a mask?......
It's how Korea does things
Great Talk! :)
Cheers 지예!
Not gonna lie, 20:42 had me laughing, but jokes aside, great (as usual) and very understandable insight. I hope we'll still get those Zoom (Messenger) calls in, every now and then. Just promise me one thing, the next time I see you on screen is on my TV with a Nobel Prize in your hands 😉
Incredibly kind of you, as always. Keeping those calls going will be something very important to me, and at the very least, you'd get an invite to the award ceremony 😉
Nice commentary man! That was a good piece and an important topic. I agree that the motivation behind taking pics / videos influences the *kind* of content saved, i.e, Selective Capture. Because of the nature of social media, images that are colorful (eye candy), evoke a strong reaction and most importantly, fairly direct in terms of complexity of information being conveyed so as to engage audience within the time frame of a few secs each post gets these days by an average viewer --- are disproportionately favored and even arranged for. Misses the purpose that you explained in detail.
Thanks man, I appreciate the support
Love this thought process - feel like I'm listening to a diary entry :D Super good!
Thanks! Your feeling is correct
Great video!
Cheers Pedro
Looks like you had an amazing time, Matt! Interesting combination of a theme park that reminds me of Walt Disney's Epcot and a traditional Korean village! 🤔 😊
I'll have to visit the Epcot one day to compare
Hi Matthew, I think you have great outlook in life and Kaist is one of the prestigious school so I hope all the best for you. I will look out for your v-blog to see how you are adjusting and making great stride.

New 403rd sub here...looking forward to share in all your wonderful adventure n exchange student's life in Seoul, all the best mate! Cheering u on from Kerala, S.India, u got this!
Many thanks Betty! It's going to be a pretty wild ride, hope you're strapped in
I am excited for your journey even though I don't know you cause I've been in your position in my 20s as well by leaving my own country (Korea) for another country (Australia). The excitement, the adrenaline rush, new experiences and so on...those can not be bought by money. Your video just reminded me that memory. English is not an official language in Korea, it is just one of foreign languages even though it is def the most important foreign language to Koreans. As you already experienced, there definitely will be moments with a language barrier but most of native English speakers in Korea don't really have an extreme difficulty in Korea. As long as you try to communicate politely, people will help you. Using translation apps or Google translation etc., might be a help especially with older people cause most young people in big cities would understand what you are saying. Just remember, so many non-Korean survived well in Korea, so you would, too. I just want to wish you a great luck and welcome to Korea! : )
B, that's means a lot to me, I wanted to go somewhere that would challenge me. Korea has been the perfect blend of difficulty but also support when I needed it (even from complete strangers, Koreans and other foreigners alike). Thanks for your comment, I'm glad to have you here
@@matthewcollins No worries!
You will always get help . Don't worry
It's been great being here, so glad I came
Welcome to Korea!!
Thanks, good to be here!
Interesting Video!
