Bravissima!!! Wondrous, expressive, detailed and personal music making!! This work is a must for understanding the glories of Schumann’s late ( and much maligned) violin writing. Insights into the violin concerto and d minor sonata abound. All that being said, the Kreisler arrangement is a fascinating take on 19th century virtuoso playing from the Sage himself. In particular, Kreislers Coda to the work finds the power and instrumental finality that in this piece was so elusive to Schumann. I’d do love to hear you play that version as well. You are a magical player.

Si Schubert n'avait pas composé autant de chefs d'oeuvre en si peu de temps, peut-être que le bon dieu, dont j'imagine qu'il aime comme nous la musique, lui aurait laissé tout le temps d'en composer autant, et plus encore avant de mourir sans se presser autant... Je fais moi-même les choses en prenant tout mon temps, et si le bon dieu me laisse le temps, dans mille ans j'écrirai mes premiers chefs d'oeuvre...

Few write as truthfully about dark feelings IMO. Great job to all involved. Glad these pieces like this of his are still get performed! Other people need to hear them.
