A short film shot in a Finnish national park called Nuuksio using a Sony Xperia 1 II smartphone, Moment lenses (Wide/Anamorphic/Tele), Freefly Movi gimbal and a B W variable ND filter. From Malmi to Utti, Finland, and back with some improvised self-training after a 2 month flying break following ATPL graduation. Beautiful clear weather, chilly temperatures and quite windy too, which is all normal here at this time of year. Very happy to notice we are still friends with the Diamond DA40NG even after this time. :)

Chill Sunday flying in Finland from Mikkeli to Utti and returning back to base at Malmi, doing some practice routines too while at it. One of the hottest summer days with 29C temp and blue skies. The Finnish scenery looked amazing, and the airplane performed amazingly sluggish due to being so warm.

First CPL training flight (commercial pilot licence) with a route Finland-Estonia-Finland. Very strong wind gusts (30-34kts) on the lower levels so takeoffs and landings were quite hell raising. I bumped my head a few times to the camera too :) Luckily all went well and we got to the ground in some form, but sadly only the return leg got recorded since I forgot to activate the GoPro again.

Increasing clouds and snow showers forced me to turn around and return to Malmi airport. This was highly expected from pre-flight. Nice views, and a good opportunity to practice semi steep turns also while at it in preparing for future IR courses.

First training session in a FNPT2 flight simulator towards a multi-engine piston (MEP) rating eventually. Takeoff climbs, flying & landing with only one engine operating, flight controls freezing, instrument and display failures of all sorts, fuel leaks, crosswind gusts, poor visibility.. everything that could go wrong, did, but we didn't crash once! At least this time ;)

Flying some traffic circuits with a Diamond DA20 to improve my gust landing skills. It wasn't quite as violent as I expected but bumpy nevertheless and very educational. The amount of controlling needed to stabilize the plane made my palms sweat :) Runway was 36 and weather 35010KTG22 270V030 9999 BKN029 08/01 Q1039.

Hi Aleksi, Thank you very much for this video! I am very intrigued by your use / experience of FREEFLY with your XPERIA. I would like to ask you several questions because I will soon have the sony XPERIA1 III, and I hesitate between buying a DJI OM 4 and the FREEFLY. My question relates to the ease of using CINEMA Pro: Can we operate the different cameras (16, 24 and 70mm) for CINEMA PRO without it being hampered by the ROLL MOTOR of the FREEFLY ?? Second question: is the FREEFLY Android application convenient to use with XPERIA? Third question: The FREEFLY seems to have exceptional stability compared to other gimbal stabilizers ... can you confirm that? Thank you in advance for your answers!

Thanks mate!! It's all getting better from here, this was so much fun 🤟 Yeah had some painful moments with Moment's (lol) U-shaped attachment clip for the lenses, in a bright sun light there was just to be alignment issues, vignetting and what not. No phone case yet for Xperia 1 II. So, I just had to go with cropping etc, but 1080p looked rather clean and sharp right from the render at H.264 CBR 50mbps max quality. Then, these RUclips and Facebook compressions man. I'm broken. 😁🏳 Can't believe it. Tried to upload to Facebool straight and it game quality option 360. Oh well, trial and errors..
@@albovell ok I understand bro. Still looked awesome! Yea, never trust Facebook compression. I always share via my RUclips links for the best quality possible although it can't beat the original file. I want to use filters too, do you have the link to the filters you used?

Sure sure! i m 1m90 tall, do you think I will be good in the zephyr ?
I think you might have to bend your knees a bit more than comfortable, because the Atec Zephyr 122 doesn't have adjustable rudder pedals. Instead, there are optional and removable lengtheners to compensate if you are shorter. I am 175cm tall and can't use those parts so I could have my legs almost straight when pushing full rudder. It's that tight in there. Hope this helps at least some. :) Still, you should try somewhere, don't take my word for it!
What stative for the camera did you use?
It's a GoPro LCD at 1080p 60fps, exported from GoPro Studio with high-quality and using a self tweaked color setting based on the preset ProTune or something by that name :) The result file became 3,9 GB hehe
What engine do you have in that Zephyr? It does not sound like Rotax to me.
It's a standard ROTAX 912 UL 80 HP :) Maybe the GoPro has done something to the audio.
OK :-). I was not sure :-). I am going to fly in Zephyr this week. I flew in Zephyr in flying school. Good plane for a lot of fun.
That's nice to hear :) Zephyrs really are a lot of fun and make you feel the air nicely. My school uses Diamond DA20/DA40NGs so Zephyrs are a great choice for just enjoying the feeling of freedom up there :)
