How to Tie a Non-Slip Mono Loop
Просмотров 27621 день назад
We teach beginner fly anglers how to use the Hemostat Clinch Knot to attach their flies, because we want to reduce as much frustration and barrier to entry as possible for those just learning to fly fish. However, for those who feel ready for the next challenge, we recommend attaching your flies with a Non-Slip Mono Loop, aka "Lefty’s Loop." The Loop Knot is stronger than a Clinch, which means ...
How to Tie a Hemostat Clinch Knot

The Clinch Knot is a classic and versatile fly fishing knot, perfect for beginners, and it can be made even easier with the use of a pair of hemostats! This knot is most commonly used for attaching flies to tippet, but it can also be used for attaching a dropper fly to the hook of an attractor or top water fly. This knot is also good for Tenkara anglers and can be used to connect tippet to a Te...

Unspoken: A Pursuit of Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout (2016)
That was a beautifully done presentation. There are places such as this that should have no name, lest they be "loved to death". I enjoy different types of trout fishing. You treated this kind in the manner that it should be treated. Your assessment of the 'Living Magic' of a place is well understood.....by some.
Great tutorial Chris. Been looking for a popper to tie as a newbie, I think I found it.
Can't wait to try this fly. Been looking for an easy popper to tie. Please leave this up on you tube. It's informative and entertaining unlike a lot of fly tying tutorials that are boring this is nice for a change of pace.
Great Fly Chris! Thanks for sharing 👍
Keep them coming I am learning a lot from your videos. Can't wait to take the intro class
That intro class is the single best thing I've done for fly fishing. It's helped me tremendously. After a few tweaks in just a few minutes, I added several yards to my cast.
Great video. Short, clear and concise! A1.
Great video and a knot I need to practice and use thank you
Number one knot besides the Albright knot that I use
Great vid and visual. I use the snap hooks for bigger nymphs and streamers, leeches etc.. But not ideal for 14 or smaller due to the hook eye size. Will be using this whenever needed. First video that showed it clearly for me. Thanx!
Love it thank you!
I was given a furled line. You hardly mention these. Is a furled line not great for a beginner?
Furled lines are often the most comfortable to cast, but the least practical for most of our anglers and situations. Furled lines generally do not sink, making it difficult to reach the depths required for much of our fishing. Additionally they can be easily snagged or cut, requiring more frequent replacement.
Solid OG guide technique!
One of the best videos of any knot I've seen. You've just made my fly fishing a lot more rewarding and fun. Thank you!
High praise, thank you!
Good info as always. Interesting comments on the Amago and Hane. I came to prefer the Ito over the Amago as well. It seemed just as capable and I like casting the Ito at both lengths and it handled a 12” sunfish I caught just fine. My Hane is the only one of my Tenkara rods I’ve broken and I’ve broken it twice but once was slipping and falling on a slick and muddy bank and another time I broke it against a tree.
I have seen many knot videos. That was by far the most complete clear, concise and easy to understand knot video. Well done you have a new sub.
Awesome tip. Great video! Would love to see more of these.
We have more on the way!
nice
Excellent idea, super simple, right up my alley! Thank you for sharing Chris. 👍😀
Great fly - Connor Ireland
Great and full of good info thank you Please keep it so I can watch again later for more review. I wish you wouldn't have taken down the one on Rio Cichlids I could have watched it several times. Thank you for the info.
Glad you enjoyed it! This class will remain on our cannel permanently, unless an update is required.
fantastic
Cool stuff - Connor Ireland
can you use squirle for this fly ?
The possum is a stiffer fiber, which holds the shape of the profile best and gives the proper color, but you could substitute with Pine Squirrel in a pinch. We have plenty of custom dyed Australian Possum available through the fly shop. You can call to order any time!
Great looking fly. Will be tying this one for sure!
Had planned to join live, but had a conflict. Glad to be able to watch it later. Well done.
Love the RUclips I will save this go get the materials from you and can sit and tie along with the saved video
Wasn't able to watch live because of storms. Thanks for leaving it up. Looking forward to visiting the shop next Wednesday
Sound is good!!
great I can't wait to tie this and fish it. Keep the vids coming. Could you share a good panfish fly pattern?
This was amazing.. The true spirit of fly fishing in general! I understand brother, I understand.

Very nice, guys!!! My favorite fish to target
Great fly shop and staff.
Do you all have an online store to get the possum?
I’m curious. Was that a Scott FS 622 rod you were using?
Probably one of the best explanations of sinking lines I’ve ever heard. Great work, Chris! Hair bugs on a sinking line is EPIC! Scientific Anger forever 🫶 Keep em coming, loving the shop talk!
Love the video, guys!! Great topic! Also, Hatch reels ROCK 😬😀😀 Love ours, appreciate all the help!
That loop method gor tying in rubber legs is absolutely killer. Great tie.
