Leisurely Logan
США
Добавлен 21 июн 2016
Lisa and Dean got married in 2010 and after years traveling in different directions, they are now traveling together. With the additions of two children since 2012, traveling took a slight detour until the kids were old enough to make trips easier. Now the Logan family is enjoying traveling and just general relaxing. Leisurely Logan is about travel, reviews, and other things while the Logan's enjoy life. Here are videos of places we go, things we do and things we use why being Leisurely Logan.

We were going purchase a Siberian dwarf hamster as a gift for our daughter and needed to get him a home. So, after searching on-line, I decided to get the @KayteeBrand Critter Trail Small Animal Habitat that had 2 levels. I also decided to make sure the hamster had plenty of play area and purchased the KayTee funnels and activity accessories kits. All items, plus food and bedding were purchased...

Did the flex tape last 3yrs?
It lasted 2 years, then I put on a replacement cover due to a bunch more holes. Now I have another replacement cover on top of the last one, due to getting holes in it. So, FlexTape worked fine. ruclips.net/video/RHLSfb9i-4E/видео.html
Love the birds singing in the background
Please come take them. LOL
That new greenhouse cover looks like it is really working well. Your citrus is impressive. Happy New Year
@@LSatch Yup. But still colder weather to come. Happy New Year.
Happy 2025! Great video. Keep it up.
I'd like to know where to get the weather flow meter he's using. Can't find one that tells humidity and temperature, only the one for wind
@@snowman1064 there is a WEATHERmeter on Amazon. It was the basic device when I got it years ago.
Nice video Dean. That new greenhouse cover looks great. Looks like you should have enough sweet potatoes for a small dish at thanksgiving. Your helper did a great job.
Thanks, Larry. Sweet potatoes will be turned into fries. My help has a little issue with keeping the camera centered on the topic, but she's great otherwise.
@@leisurelylogan she did great. Great dad giving her a chance, she’ll get better
Zzzzzzz
Aw, so cute. When they grow what are you gonna use them for?
@@chantingdemonlerky381 I put lime and lemon in my water. But, I usually eat the ones I grow whole.
Thanks for sharing. Hope the grass grows. We’re bracing for 5”-10” of rain tonight and tomorrow. Winds up to 60mph. Pray for us
Welp, if I was really good at taking videos, I would have some great stuff from the Grandfather Mountain area. It was bad, but other places were worse. Only 1 road out this morning. I hope you are doing okay after this storm.
@@leisurelylogan we are. It actually turned more easterly than predicted. One tree down over the horse fence. 12+ inches of rain over 2-12 days.
Love George! I have that same weed amongst my weed collection. What a pain. Gardening in the South is not for sissies. I’ve never seen an onion do what your onions did. I’ve seen one side shoot but it doesn’t look like that onion 🤷🏻♂️. Would love a strawberry and rhubarb pie, good luck with that, really hoping it works out for you. Thanks for sharing
@@LSatch I haven't watched a ton of onion videos, but I am guessing that's how seed onions are made. Yeah, southern weeds are the worst. I guess I need to put up a fence on the garden or the deer will ruin my pie. LOL. Thanks for watching Larry.
@@leisurelylogan maybe just some netting over that bed would work
I guess the handle works that way lol
For those who swing both ways. LOL They really needed to make one side a little different so it is more obvious.
We had the same rain/drought issue. I’m confused about the onions. Are they bunching onions? I’ve never had an onion divide like that. My tomatoes are out. I’ve planted some new ones. Thanks for sharing
@@LSatch the onions were a regular onion that you would buy in the store. It apparently turned itself into multiple seed onions. I probably should cut back my tomatoes and see if new ones will grow.
Three words: Orbit Yard Enforcer!!!!
I would have to get my water faucet replaced first. It tends to leak under hose pressure. Joys of owning an old house.
Human urine around your plants will keep them from eating your plants 🪴
Don’t be selfish, plant enough for everyone.
they heard you had a good salad bar😂
They thought you planted the garden for them🎉😂❤🎉
That’s not a garden, that’s a food plot 😊
Mama wasn't having it; you can scare the kids, I'm eating my breakfast.
Last year I had to chase it all the way through my yard and over the fence.
@@leisurelylogan she is hooked on your greens 😊
Y I have the same problem and they are eating all the stuff around the house
The worst part is, the mother was standing right where the deterrent is. So, I guess the sound doesn't bother them.
Not to be rude but that cage is wayyyy too small and is considered abuse... and that purple stick thing u said that has one bite is because it has fake coloring meaning the hamster is getting poisoned from it. sad to watch :(
@@forestoz noted. Thanks for watching.
Hi! I hope you don’t take this as rude, but even for the smallest of hamsters (Russian white, as you state you’re getting) the minimum floor space is 450 square inches. I know it may seem big or unaffordable to get something so large for a hamster, but please remember it is an entire life you’re responsible for. Some affordable options are bin cages. Assuming you’re in north america, you can use a 110 quart bin from Target or a 50 gallon bin from the home depot, with the lid modified for ventilation. Dwarf hamsters also need at least an 8 inch wheel to prevent irreversible back injuries, as well as 6 inches of bedding for burrowing, and a sand bath. You can get proper bathing sand from petsmart (no dust, bathing dust can cause upper respiratory issues) and you can also use non calcium reptisand or children’s play sand (baked to get rid of germs). You can refer to Victoria Raechels hamster care blogs for more in depth information. Please please upgrade your care, the hammy will thank you tremendously. 🩷 Best of luck with your new hamster.
@@lapinlaitt thanks for the info
@@leisurelylogan ofc 🩷
Missed this video last week, been crazy busy. Your tomatoes look like mine. I’ve talked to few gardeners and nobody seems to be growing great tomatoes this year. Yes you can plant those peas in the fall. If they are hybrids you won’t get the same peas but it’s worth a try. Glad to know your alarm is working, never had faith in those things. Thanks for sharing
It's the busy time of the year. It's weird. Everything is growing great, but not fruiting very well at all. I don't think the peas were hybrid, but we'll see. Looks like the alarm didn't keep the deer from eating at the roses again. I definitely need to get more to cover all entries. Have a good one, Larry!
can I line that mat on the inside of a 5 gallon pot to keep roots warm?
It rolls up, so I guess you could go around the edge of the pot with it. I'm not sure if it would help a lot that way, just because he doesn't put off a lot of heat, just surface heat. It's not like a radiator. Also, even with it being water resistant and such, I'm not sure it would be a good idea to keep it in the dirt for a long period of time.
Fabric pots would be a solution. I have mine under two, two gallon pots
I have that same vine you show around 2:30. Been fighting it for 40 years! Your tomatoes are looking amazing. Well over twice the size of mine. I see you had the same luck as me with the peppers. Thanks for sharing
Welp... I guess I won't have much luck with the vine weed then. LOL! I forgot to mention that a couple of weeks back I used a little fish emulsion when watering. Maybe that helped the tomatoes this year. Thanks for watching, Larry.
You will have to wait up to 2 years to harvest that plant my rhubarb shoots up like 20 stems at first and get giant
I was more concerned about it living. This has been my 3rd attempt to grow rhubarb in this zone. It came back this season, so hopefully by next season I can harvest.
So cute until they grow ..😮
In yur attic! And under yur shed!
did you put them in the box?
Yes. They were on my porch in another box that we had set outside trying while cleaning an area. The mother broke through the screen and had them in that box, so I moved them to an empty box and put them out of the porch so she could move them.
Cute, but if the sun is too hot they are often heat sensitive.
He don't care. Probably left them in the sun.
Yes, I found that out. I put them out where the mother could get to them, but I probably should have put them down in the shade. I didn't know how long it would take her to move them all.
❤thanks for relocating the three in a safe place.
Such cute little trash pandas!
They looked like little werewolves.
Looks great! Also no hate but may be worth teaching your son how to lift heavy shit.
I know. He probably should have asked for help, but he's stubborn at times due to a family trait. Those bag handles weren't the best either. Thanks for watching.
Best pets
Thanks for sharing Dean. I agree, I think we’re going to be safe from any frost. Everything is looking good
Now, to see if they'll make it past the storms this week.
@@leisurelylogan I saw it was windy. Crazy windy here too. Lost a 75’ pine in the woods, no harm done, missed the fence by 1/2”
@@LSatch nothing fell down aty house or at the school while we were there, but other places had issues. Lucky fall for you.
Thanks for the update. You son’s raspberry plants look great. Great project for him. I never did get any pepper plants this year.
There is always the big box stores, that's where I got my peppers last year. I did manage to find that there were a half dozen or more seed sprouts in the bags, so hopefully I will have some more pepper plants.
@@leisurelylogan good luck with the remainders. Yes, I'll be raking out 5 bucks a piece I guess if I want some peppers.
I just bought a Home Complete greenhouse. I was relieved to find your video review, it is very helpful. I plan to anchor mine on cement blocks for height then attach to the fence as well. Your "video taker" has emerging talent, simply precious. 😀
Thanks for watching. If you have trees near your greenhouse, buy some Flex Seal tape.
This is something I’ll be watching and waiting for a follow up. Hopefully it works. Maybe it would keep the squirrels and raccoons away from my bird feeders.
I probably won't know if it is working for another few months. Of course, if the pest comes from the backside, it probably won't work.
That's for sharing your video.👍
Thanks for watching!
@@leisurelylogan Thank you as well.
Things are looking good. Raspberry patch is looking good. I feel your pain with the pepper plants. I re-seeded for the 3rd time today. Keep us updated. Thanks for sharing
Thanks. I might have to try the paper towel method.
@@leisurelylogan I was thinking the same thing when I was planting them this afternoon
It's great to see the journey of planting strawberries together. Wishing you all the best with the new batch! Hope they thrive this time around! 🌱💕
Cool! Looking forward to its growth! 🍓
Very informative video 🌱
Got you a skunk 😮
I hope not. I think it's a raccoon.
Don’t forget the cliff bars!
I didn't check the expiration date on those. I hope they last more than 6 months, like the granola nut bars.
The only tough thing about the MRE is still having items that are healthy for you.
Yes. The full blown step would be to have a freeze dryer and process your own meal, but that's a high cost barrier.
What gloves are those?
Fire Side Gloves by Snow Peak
Dean,I think it’s way too early to plant sweet potatoes. I’ve never planted them because we don’t like them but I’ve always thought they were a tender plant like tomatoes. Hope I’m wrong.
Probably. But I am hoping for an early spring. And I hope the long roots will help.
@@leisurelylogan I would love an early spring. 29 degrees here tonight
you have a great helper!!
Just to verify, this setup did work for both mats?
Correct. The controller is basically just on and off, so the reading on one probe controls both.
@@leisurelylogan thank you Brother! We just ordered 4 and got a 4 way outlet splitter 😅
