多くの大都市において鉄道や道路が発達する以前は、街を流れる川や堀が物資輸送の動脈となっていましたが、特にモータリゼーション以降は用済みのドブ川と化していたのが現実です。名古屋市内を流れる堀川も庄内川より派生させ江戸時代に開削された人口運河ですが、長年放置された川底にはヘドロがたまり、衛生面での課題となっていました。しかしそんな殺伐としたドブ川も視点を変えればとても都会的哀愁が滲み出す風景とも言えます。近年多くの都市ではこういった都市河川の浄化や景観の改善が進んでおり、主に観光資源や市民公園としてその価値が再創造されています。

Já pocházím z Evropy z České Republiky, a vaše video mě chytilo za srdce, u nás se snažíme udržet původního pstruha a lososa a navracet jej do jeho přirozeného prostředí ikdyž to není vůbec lehké,vodní elektrárny,přehrady,umělá koryta řek a potoků. S lososem nám pomohli Norové navrátit jej do řeky Labe,a už několik let se vrací zpět k rozmnožování do řeky Labe kde se přirozeně rozmnožuje. Losos je u nás v české republice celoročně chráněn zákonem a nikdo po jeho ulovení si jej nesmí ponechat a musí lososa vrátit nazpět do vody. Přeji vám i vaší práci hodně úspěchu ve vaší činnosti k udržení a obnově života ve vašich řekách.

The 3 things I enjoy
I've always been curious about those trout in Japan. Trout are magical fish that live in the most beautiful places on earth. It's hard to describe the allure to fly fishing except to say the fish is hooked and released but the angler is hooked forever. It isn't just fishing. It's a way of life where you feel more in touch with God and creation.

One small point, I am not sure your statement about 'America being the home of fly fishing is quite accurate'. I believe that you will find the origins of fly fishing lie in Scotland.
