3 early Spring Striper tactics on Lake Lanier. Live bait, topwater sight fishing, and dock lights.
I had a chance to get out in the evening and gave the Stripers a little bit of everything. There is multiple ways to get them buttoned in early Spring. Here is some slow trolling live Rainbow Trout, sight fishing topwater, and night fishing dock lights. You can’t beat sight fishing these things! There is still open dates this Spring, call or text 404-803-8608 for more info and to book a trip. www.BigBiteCharters.com

Live pitch bait tips n’ tricks on Lake Lanier, GA for Stripers and Spotted Bass.
Просмотров 8 тыс.Год назад
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about pitch bait techniques on Lake Lanier from both clients and fellow guides. This is no secret so I would like to share what I’m doing to hopefully help you have a great day of catchin’. I don’t claim it to be the best way. It’s just one way I pitch baits. I used this method as a kid growing up in West Central Florida fishing for Snook and Reds, while pit...

    Look how small they are you should let them grow up man those are way under the limit

    • @Capt.Andrew_Hammond
      @Capt.Andrew_Hammond 11 месяцев назад

      Yes, you let anything live longer they can grow bigger. You’re stating the obvious. These big crappie that you’re waiting to harvest because they have more meat, on Lanier are not males, they are the females full of eggs. So what you think you’re doing by releasing the small ones and keeping the slabs is actually counter productive as far as this fishery goes. There is no size limit in GA. And this is what they get like on Lanier. This isn’t lake Weiss or Clark’s Hill, Oconee, unfortunately. I’m not tournament fishing. I do this for a living and to keep them or not, is up to the clients. I suggest releasing small ones but if they want to keep them that is their choice and not ever going to be dictated by the opinions of others. Most all bass and Striper are catch and release as far as my charters but crappie I’m trying to kill a limit always and put them in the grease. So that is your personal preference which I respect and mine it to kill 60 on a trip. Tight Lines!

    Do you have any tips for someone who is new to fishing lakes? To be more specific I’m using a peddle driven kayak without any electronics.

      Yes, book a charter fishing trip with a professional guide and tell them exactly that. I offer educational trips just for that reason. They will help big time and get you started in the right direction.

    Hey man im in the gainesville area and gonna be leaving wednesday. I really wanna get a striper but im limited to the dock at the house in 40 ft of water and a kayak. What would be the easiest thing i can do to catch em from shore or kayak? Nice video keep it up and 👍

    • @Capt.Andrew_Hammond
      @Capt.Andrew_Hammond 11 месяцев назад

      That’s a tough question without knowing the exact location of the dock. I would say head to Hammond’s Fishing Center and get some live bait such as trout, threadfin, or large minnows. Throw them out on a freeline or float on a 1/0 light wire circle hook and hope some hungry ones come by!

    If you want to catch fish on Lake Lanier, go with Capt. Andrew. Me and a couple friends went fishing with him on Easter Sunday. It was cold and windy, but as soon as the bait hit the water, the fish were jumping in the boat! It was worth every penny! I will use him everytime!

      @@Capt.Andrew_Hammonde went out this weekend on the South side. After scanning a few spots found them about where we started. Had down lines out and threw out a free line. Out of habit I nose hooked it and sure enough it swam back under the boat. I took it off and belly hooked next one. Five minutes later hooked up a nice one. Thanks for the tip.
