this was very helpful, thank you!
Yea but how well this hold up when a sighted person expects it. I’ve found no matter how hard I tried it would never pass and I was made to do it again.
I’m a grad student pursuing a certification for be a TSVI. Thank you so much for this video! It’s the most helpful I’ve found so far. ❤
Thank you so much for this video. I am learning Braille as a 60-something year-old because I have macular degeneration and I saw the frustration that my father had as he gradually lost his vision to MD. He was an avid reader, as am I. This video was such a great help. Now I need something to help me learn UEB. I have a book, but it isn’t much help.
Good explanation. Thank you
Great video! I am doing an assignment on helping visually impaired people clean the shower and this has been very informative!
😊
As a low vision newbie, doing everyday tasks feels like learning how to walk all over again, and reading and writing are no exceptions. I've been looking for videos like this as the other videos about Braille on RUclips are about the codes. So, I really appreciate the time and dedication you put into this video. Do you have similar videos on writing using a slate?
2:00 hi I think that’s me on the swing on the roght
thank you for sharing this video, im quite new at braille , i have the Hable One braille remote for my smartphone .. i really like learning how to write braille with this device. it came with a braille card but this piece of paper doesnt make any sense to me maybe since i have never read braille before , i dont even know what is up or down or front or back of this braille card. altho i think its a nice piece to practice with a bit small yes.. also i am left handed .. thanks for reading Mak from snowy Alaska :) enjoy your day

Hotel help me very much all I was dealing with cataracts it was very helpful and made things easier for me but I've had the surgeries I'm not going to forget the tools that I was able to
Interesting lesson. Well done. You have such a sweet & calm manner. What a great teacher!
Thank you for helping understanding my grandson
Why not vertical writing with odd number lines on the left page and even on the right. To make system more synetrical
Very helpfull
What brand is the tape? What can we search to find it?
If you were going to comment an idea for allowing the audience to be noisy without disturbing the players, may there never be enough of your subs to make a half set!
Sounds fun! Know of any places that play this down along the gulf coast?
Im cause i recently back to this sports and im assigned to teach new members and im currently the center or the captain of the team
Thanks for doing a video about this. I hated how most videos about CVI don't really identify specifics of what CVI is, so these characteristics are great for entry-level understanding!
Hey Paul, pretty sure I know you you sound different on a RUclips video that I need a new CCTV I can’t afford one. I know they’re a lot better than they used to be and I have an old one very old one I can’t even read my own debit card on anything anymore which I need to do tomorrow but I kind of have it memorized now but still.
Thank you!! These are very helpful!
Would be a excellent job for me....since i damaged my l5 s1 i know the feelings to be disabled...live you guys..
Yes I am ready to compete
I am hoping to buy a set of poles in the near future. Is there some kind of body protector that is easy for other people and drivers to see a blind or very low vision adult with the large print low vision on the back area
This might be a little late, but you can usually find a fluorescent rain coat or jacket cover in the hunting section of sporting goods stores to make yourself VERY visible..
I love nordic walking poles with spikes and cups at the end of each pole

PUSSY RULESET REAL GOALBALL ATHLETES PLAY BY THE CAPINSKY RULES
Hi, I am interested in improving my braille fluency to advance professionally. I have never been taught the scisor technique - this was new to me. I read online somewhere that the pads of your fingers on your left hand are actually more sensitive. Was wondering if you could demo the scisor technique on a braille display, focusing on which fingers a reader should use to read a few lines with their left hand? I'm finding it difficult to practice this technique on my own because I cannot find a comfortable reading position. Some guidance or advice would be appreciated! Thank you!
Can someone please explain the difference between the finger pad and the fingertip? I am having trouble figuring out the difference between those. I am completely blind.
The pad is the part of your finger that has your fingerprint, the opposite side of your fingernail. The tip is just the portion at the top end. Hope that helps!
I had Shared this with my Mobility Teacher Because I asked her about Mobility in the Snow. That was interesting.
Thank you. Don't know this existed until I stumbled on it in the Paralympics this year. I was looking for an explanation and the rules.
I never knew this sport existed until now. It seems like it would be a lot of fun.
I am embarrased. Thought this was a joke, now I see how meaningfull this game is. Glad I watch your video to understand it. God bless all those with vission impareness.
Can you do like a single bounce so it bounces over an opponent?
If you mean like a single bounce completely across the courtThen the answer is no. not only would it be nearly impossible because the court is pretty long. But it’s also a penalty. The ball needs to be touching the ground pretty quickly after you throw it. There is a 10 foot range I believe, so if you throw it and it stays in the air for about 10 feet then it’s a penalty on your team
This is awesome, glad I stumbled upon this video.
I want to play
Honestly that looks like a lot of fun.
I realise that I'm automatically reading with the left handed technique - is it worth me trying to read right handed so I can use the butterfly technique? It looks as though itt might be a little faster. A moot point at the moment, I can only read ten words a minute at the moment, but I want to do what I can to get better. I've only been studying a month, and so far can only read uncontracted, but RNIB are helping me learn.
Hi, I hope you see my question. I know echolocation is a very rare talent, but let's assume a player has that ability. Would that be allowed during the game? Or are the players required to remain silent as well?
Thanks for your question. The players can be as quiet or as noisy as they want. It is often a competitive advantage to be as quiet as possible, but some teams make a lot of noise. It is not a foul or penalty unless it is potentially distracting to the other team. So, yes, players can make sounds, but echolocation would not necessarily be an advantage in this sport.
@@northdakotaschoolforthebli9932 Thanks!
Wow i had no idea.. this is pretty freaking awesome
I just learned of this sport today. To a veteran goalball player teaching a person with vision, I already can tell from the games I've watched that it is probably funny teaching us people with vision, because we are so reliant on our vision to do things everyday, we are not that good at all of our other senses. Sound and touch and feel. You are blind to us, but we are truely blind to you in this sport. Your other senses are so much better than ours. I love it!
Not blind, but this game looks like a lot of fun. Are the goggles to level the playing field due to various levels of blindness of the competitors?
Yes, that is correct. When everyone is wearing googles, no one has any advantage with light or acuity.
Whoever gave this video a thumbs down is NOT COOL
