    Hello, my renegade is a real pain. Last summer I replaced my whole engine and in the process I decided to go with a single mass flywheel and clutch Masters clutch and at the beginning it worked pretty good I also did the delete. But over the year I've noticed the clutch not engaging very well so I went through and built my own motor mount so they're really stiff now the clutch doesn't work at all. I mean you can't get it to disengage anything and what's really strange is you can hear the slave moving when someone's applying the clutch so I don't know what's going on. What's interesting to me is there's actually a valve to bleed your clutch system from but you can't do anything with that if you got to unclip the fluid line to get fluid running out to me as a dumb idea they should have had a valve that you can unbolt to release the fluid which now I'm having a struggle getting that clip out

      If they got dropped and mixed up then the only way to figure out where to put them is by installing them and checking the clearance between them and the cam with a feeler gauge. It requires installing and removing the cam multiple times to get them right.

    Man, 15years? Don't feel bad I got a cadillac in 2000. It ran less than a year before I completely started to rebuild the car. It hasn't run in 24 years and has been moved on a trailer four times to four different homes. You've got plenty of time to finish the Impala. Check out Harbour Freights car enclosures for $150. They don't last very long but they save a lot of damage on cars that sit for long periods.

    If you had wanted to keep the G4FJ engine, and instead only go for a AWD swap, do you think you could have made it work with the Veloster’s floor pan? Maybe by cutting, but not as much as it would have taken to make room for the Genesis transmission? I have a 2014 Turbo R Spec and I desperately want to AWD swap it with a fully mechanical automatic torque balancing front/center/rear diff set up. I’ve been building up my skill set to prepare, but… ooof. That full on double floor pan cut out, trim, and re-weld is too much for me. Like, your playlist has got me researching drag bike chains and other half brained ideas cus I do not want to do that full floor swap.

    • @shadetreestreetcars8626
      @shadetreestreetcars8626 Месяц назад

      I honestly don't know if it would work with the OG Veloster floor. But where there's a will there's a way. I could've used the OG floor for this build but I wanted the genesis front suspension. I would've just had to cut the transmission tunnel and fabricated some mounts for the engine and transmission. The rear has to be done the way I'm doing it for proper mounting and alignment of the rear suspension. I could probably make something to mount the rear subframe to the Veloster floor but I think the suspension would be way too high. I'm also planning on using all of the electronics and fuel system from the genesis so it's just easier for me to build it this way.

      @@shadetreestreetcars8626 I really appreciate you taking the time to answer. Your project is great, and honestly you probably know more about what it would take than anyone else. I may let the AWD swap go, since I’d really want it to still have the Veloster interior. Btw, if ever you have questions on the Veloster platform, I highly recommend reaching out to Jim Piercing at Piercing Motorsports. He’s super nice and even took the time to call me and offer his insight from the Veloster Challenge racing series. Though, maybe you would want a Genesis guy more.

    • @shadetreestreetcars8626
      @shadetreestreetcars8626 Месяц назад

      After rereading your comment I see what you're asking. 🤦🏻‍♂️ If you want to keep the Veloster engine you could probably swap the AWD system from a Hyundai Tucson or a Sonata. You would still probably need the rear floor pan from the donor vehicle but maybe not. I've actually thought about building an AWD 1.6t after I finish the V6 RWD build.

    • @piedpiper1172
      @piedpiper1172 Месяц назад

      @@shadetreestreetcars8626 Yeah I’ve been looking at Tucson’s. I know they used the same engine with a manual, and I’m mostly sure it’s the same transmission. I have never needed to go through service and technical chart manuals before, so it’s been a journey learning to read them and find them. At the very least, the transmission should connect to the G4FJ without an adaptor. A partial floor pan swap feels less… horrific than the incredible work you did for this project. I think I’ll focus on finishing my end to end rebuild, and once I’m ready to take it all back out to sand and prep for painting, I’ll decide if I’ve learned enough to be up to attempting the rear floor swap. Another interesting route is seeing if I can get the upgraded rear suspension and rear subframe from the 2020 Turbo Ultimate’s to get rid of the torsion bar. Though that would be committing to staying FWD. I just think a AWD Veloster “Evolution” would be a pretty neat build given the G4 engine family and countless other Mitsubishi connections.

    On my 2018 RAV4 it doesn’t have a ON/OFF switch to turn off the passengers airbag, or rather I can’t find it. Do you know where it’s located or does a person interface with the “maintenance” section using the steering wheel control(like how I reset the oil change service reminder when I do an oil change)? If there isn’t a switch to turn off the passengers airbag, then I plan on disconnecting the 4th connector for the seat bottom bladder(I think that is what you called it) that measures the weight of the passenger…Do you think this is a good idea. In summary, I simply want to disable/turn off my passenger airbag. Thanks in-advance for your reply.

    • @shadetreestreetcars8626
      @shadetreestreetcars8626 2 месяца назад

      With these new advanced Airbag systems it's a lot harder to get around the built in safety features in the system. My concern with trying to disable the passenger side airbag that's not designed to be turned off is that it could interfere with the correct operation of the rest of the system. In theory it shouldn't cause other problems but I'd rather not take any chances with safety. If your model is one that doesn't have a key on the passenger side dash to disable it then my recommendation is don't disable it for your own safety.

    • @shadetreestreetcars8626

      I'm not really sure what you're asking. There shouldn't be any air pressure in the gas tank except when the leak detection pump is running. Usually a weak/long start is due to bad spark or low fuel pressure, a bad head gasket will present other problems like smoke, misfires, overheating, etc.
