Siong Leng Musical Association was established in 1941 and aims to preserve, promote and develop Nanyin music and Liyuan opera. Like many traditional arts in their search for new audiences, there is a call not only for the preservation of Nanyin but also its revitalisation through the infusion of new creative ideas.

Thus, in recent years, Siong Leng has started experimenting with contemporary Nanyin and also nurtured a group of young Nanyin musicians, giving new life to this ancient artform. The company has toured and performed in countries such as France, the United States, England, Korea and Vietnam.

Through Siong Leng's dedication, commitment and determination, they have also clinched the Singapore Chinese Cultural Contribution Award in 2017 and is a recipient of the National Arts Council's Major Grant 2016 - 2019.
