Ya ive had a welder say he can get the job done.....he didnt do it right and ruined my kegs. And he purged with argon suposedly. Took a new set to a new welder and they were perfect on the inside. Cost a bit more butt they are sanitary and never rust

THOSE WONDERING how he got the fitup with the ferrule and copper fitting. HE TOOK A STANDARD ferrule, and cut the flanged part of the ferrule off (the part you'd secure with a tri clamp) and tacked it in place. So in other words he's not using the stainless pipe section that you'd find on a standard SS ferrule, he cuts it off. ALSO this method, eliminated the need to purge anything. He simply is doing a INSIDE weld, and is good to go after that. HOPE I HELPED YOU GUYS 😂

Judging from his welds, he's welding COLD, low amps. Too low to be considered food grade safe. A true sanitary weld provides maximum penetration through to each side of the welded material. However due to his low amperage, he's getting away with no having to deal with sugaring on the inside of the weld. However once again, from a sanitary standpoint as well as structural integrity, this has not properly been performed properly, and blows my mind a business would sell such work. It's fraud honestly, in my opinion. When a consumer purchases these vessels for home brewing or distillation, it's expected and an international industry standard, that any welds are to be sanitary welds food grade safe.

With zero purge wtf? So much for food grade sanitary weld practices.

혹시 호주에서 용접을 배우셨나요? 티그를 배울려고 한국에 갔다올 생각인데 비용하고 이리저리 계산해보니 호주도 낫겠다 싶어서 물어봅니다. Tafe을 나오진 않았고 사설기관에서 배울 생각인데요 혹시 따로 추천하시는 방법이 있으신지요?

You should be rolling it paper side in and purging the entire job.

No back purge on something that is classed as sanitary welding for food products, would hate to see the sugar on the inside

should be back purged before welding to stop sugaring on the inside as this is a sanitary food product

What size tungsten and cup are you running? Working on something similar but welding copper plates inside sanitary.... would normally do copper and sil-fos.

too much heat input and you need your filler to have some cadmium. Look into smith's filler wires that have different melt/liquidous points and try them with the TIG and you'll get better results. Also use a thinner electrode.

That crackling noise you hear is the brass burning, you shouldn't be doing that it brings out all the phosperity from the zinc. You end up with lots of little holes. Brass is joined melting the filler rod instead of trying to melt the metal. Try argon with a 2.4mm 2% tungsten @ 70amps DC. Much better

Curious, with this being stainless, shouldn't you back purge during the welding process?
