Staying in the Moment! Mindful Living.
Can you actually stop the racing thoughts and live 'in the moment'? It's not easy but it is doable with practice and determination. You can train your mind to enjoy where you are, who you are with and to think of nothing else, even for a short time. You can live differently and with more peace and even joy😊

I lied to the docs took 4 years of masking 'HEALTHY' refused pharma meds went to Indeginous medicine n therapies to get back to sum independence and detox the poison in my body then I went bush and disappeared went estranged to my family and recluse... it's been 8 years since then, I've lived quietly with my children (in and out) I will go camp a few weeks for solitude then come back and manage my mind quite well, however Feb 2024 then march 24 I hit a crisis of bereavement and hav gone straight back to behaviours and manias like before 😭 I haven't left the house for 7 mnths, my children hav reached out to ask me to get help... easy to ask much harder to execute based on personal experience... I'm not sure how to go about it this time without becoming ENTRAPPED by consent and the legals involved in mental health medical treatment... Thank you for sharing your experience. Mine was different, but I definitely relate to the experience of having snapped and lost touch with reality. I was coming out of a severe depression and threw water on my wife in an argument. She left and I was up for 3 days sending the most horrible texts to her non-stop. My marriage ended that day, and I’ve been trying to pick up the pieces and figure out what happened since. I’ve been trying to get treatment, but I’ve been struggling to tell my doctors that I’m experiencing things that are new and different from my usual self and my usual depression. I keep going through periods where not myself, and it’s hard to communicate to a doctor who doesn’t know me and what I was like before. It helps to hear stories from others to have the courage to speak up and not try to hide away behaviour that I’m really ashamed of.

Thank you for sharing this. I’ve been trying to get a clear diagnosis for several years now, and I feel like my primary symptom of mania is anger/rage. It’s so frustrating. I go through deep depressions, and I’m thrilled to finally be out of them and have enough energy to leave my apartment, but I have this hair trigger temper, and I go off on nothing. Then I feel so embarrassed and ashamed of my behaviour. Nothing about it feels good or euphoric. I appreciate your experience. I want medication so bad, but I’m having trouble finding a psychiatrist who will treat me and I don’t think I’ve been able to be very clear about my symptoms. @@estherherbert-bipolarstrong thank you so much. You’re very kind. It’s helpful to hear that mania isn’t euphoric. What I experience isn’t what I expected, and I think that’s made it hard for me to figure out. I finally got into a psychiatrist in the midst of a suicidal mania, and she was just awful. She completely blew me off, told me meds were never going to help, and ordered me to more CBT. I’ve been doing therapy for 20 years. Something has changed in my symptoms, but she wouldn’t let me get a word out. I went home and decided she and the province wanted me to kill my self (I was watching all these news stories about MAID). That made me mad enough to not do it. I’ve been trying to keep track of my symptoms, and I wrote about how I was feeling during my last episode to take to my family doctor because I don’t remember how bad it was now. I’m trying to have faith that she can help me get the right treatment.

Calendar's can be scary to look at all at once. Maybe a week at at time would be better. Those small day planners could be useful. Staying on track can take many forms - it is up to to find one you like, are comfortable with and works ! God bless you on your journey ! 💖

I agree that self isolation is the best advice. I used to panic and berate myself for being this way. My husband suggested not to chase my symptoms with more meds and he helps keep me from self medication. On days like this I stay home and ride it out.

I appreciate your courage talking openly about your experience. There is nothing to be ashamed of because this disease happens at the molecular level and the "inappropriate" behaviors that occur are out of your control. I think I read once that part of the explanation for these behaviors is that such a patient becomes less aware of what is socially acceptable and what is not socially acceptable behavior. I'm 31 years old now and relatively stable. I have had two bipolar episodes in my past and done the most inappropriate things: In the second one (when i decided not to take my medications) I shouted in public in my university in front of students; I drove my dad's car recklessly in streets full of traffic until the car wrecked and shut down; I walked in the middle of a street with the direction of the traffic at night until the police caught me, hand-cuffed me and was hospitalized for about a month until they made sure I adhere to my medication. That was a heavy experience and i learned how important the medications are. It is all a past memory though and I don't feel ashamed at all. People should become more educated about our situation and it is nothing to be ashamed of. Thank you for your courage and your RUclips content is among the best and most impactful out there.
