My friend kept squall KO throughout his play. His team members leveled up and every fight was a joke. His favorite boss fight with this method was against Raijin and Fujin. The max damage the boss could do was around 20 to 10 damage total.

22:22 as a kid, I could not figure out this boss. I don't think the game, at any point, clues you into magic powder being the secret weakness - and you can easily enter this battle without any supply left in your inventory. The only feedback you really get is that the boss seems to be hurt by the sword - which it **isn't**!

If you farm infinite str+, mag+, vit+ etc items in shop, it's not hard to beat Omega

I always keep every dead for the entire game, except Selphie/Quistis, cuz they are terrible, and then use Stat boost GF abilities to grind them to 100 and get every 255 of every stat.

The soundtrack in the PS1 version is probably my favorite. The Dreamcast soundtrack is extremely nice, but I grew up with the PS1 version, and I never forgot the Duckie Mountain and hub world themes because they sound so unique. This OST has become emblematic of the game for me, so when I first played the N64 version recently, I was extremely thrown off by how different it sounded.

Never knew there was multiple versions of this game, I grew up playing it and after almost two decades I decided to look for it. I was so confused when I saw the PSX version and the music wasn't the same. Felt I was going crazy seeing levels I thought I remembered look completely different. PC version was just the N64 but better lol

Easist thing in the world to win by not leveling. Try getting to 100 by second Edea fight and then fighting Odin, Tonberries, and Cautur.

Quick note about the deception konquest mode and leaving the starting village - The only thing you can miss is a few random side quests but any chests that you would miss will appear later on in the world if you didn't get them in the starting village.

Leveling up does *not* make the game harder for the most part. Most bosses are level capped and normal mobs are always whatever. You can just use enc-none. It only makes a difference in a couple exceptions most notably Omega Weapon and Ultemicia. I just got the platinum trophy on remastered edition without leveling up yesterday.

There's only one battle in FFVIII that you can't avoid getting exp from.

So I did some research and it looks like the original design and concept was done by the PS2 team, so that seems to be the "original" version. Everything else is either a direct port (GCN which didn't come until 2002) or a reinterpretation of the PS2 version (PS1, N64, DC, PC)

the n64 version is indeed the only version to contain real-time cutscenes just load up the dreamcast port on flycast or boot up the pc one and you'll see the pre-rendered ones

I can't understand why PS1 version is different comparing with N64, Dreamcast and PC versions, and why they made a totally different game for PS2 and Gamecube... This game is weird... My favorite version btw is N64, cause it's the version I played as a child

How did you run the n64 version of the game at 60fps

I ran the entire game with encounters turned off. I think i beat omega weapon at level 16 or something, bosses have such low health if your low level. The junction system is too OP if you know what your doing.

most runs don't count levelling GFs & Seifer as level ups so to see you skip the whole "level Seifer to 100 and draw powerful magic" was interesting.
